She tensed completely at that “I’m sorry inquisitor but I won’t let a warlock near me” She said, frowning. She didn’t wanted magic near her head again, and she was sure that that wouldn’t change in the future.

“I would think twice about that decision. You could possibly be putting a lot of lives at risk.”

Izzy remembered clearly how more often than not that warlock worked using her mother’s voice but when she tried to remember the exact words everything became blank. She closed her eyes to try and concentrate better but…nothing, everything was gone “I- I don’t remember” She mumbled, confused.

She waited for the young Shadowhunter to recall. The answer that she received was disappointing to say the least. “We may need a warlock’s assistance for this. High Warlock Bane should be able to help you with your memory. What you know could help us against Valentine. It is of utmost importance.”

“That’s true even if this scene is more… fit for the younger generations than us. Unless you want to break it on the dance floor?”

“I rather not break anything. I will make my presence known before taking my leave.”

“Bane’s style of humour? He probably did not expect us to show.”

“He would have been correct if this was any other time. But with the relationship between Shadowhunters and Downworlders as it is, it would be unwise to not make an appearance at such an occasion.”

“That’s one word for it. I suppose you have no idea why we were invited, do you?”

“Yes, I know” Alec nodded along to everything the woman was saying as he sat down in one of the chairs. “How am I supposed to help?” Ofcourse Alec wanted to help but so far helping the clave only harmed the person helping.

“I can assure you that my clan had nothing to do with the death of that Shadowhunter, which I am sure is the source of the latest scrutiny over my kind. We’ve been following the Accords and helped out your youngsters once Camille was taken down for her latest… decisions. We don’t want Valentine to win, but I can only speak for my clan and there are others in New York,” he said evenly stopping for a moment before adding, “and there have been rumors of vampires sliding with Valentine.”

“If you and yours really have nothing to do the deaths, then you wouldn’t mind doing a little field work for me.” Despite her words, she was sure it came across that this was not a request. “I’m sure we both want the same thing, to get rid of a rogue vampire. Do we not?”

She nodded, going to sit down on her bed but never tearing her eyes from the older woman “He tried to do something to my head, he would work with me after every beat, where I would be weak and not able to put up my walls” She played with her hands and scratching the inside of her palm with her nail “He would sometimes use my mom’s voice, but I don’t know for what”

Alec attempted to keep his face emotionless even though even being in the same room as Imogene cause a large amount of anxiety to settle in his stomach. “Yes, ma'am. ” he replied politely and followed her to her office. Imogen closed the door behind them, leaving her guards outside. It was best if they had this conversation in private. Walking to stand in front of him, she could admit to herself that she was impressed by his respect of authority. Hopefully, it stayed that way or it would make their discussion today unpleasant. “At ease.” It was best if they had a more casual environment. “As you well know, we are dedicating all our efforts to finding and stopping Valentine. So far we haven’t had much luck.I think I found a way to help us in that process but I would need your help.”

Life hasn’t been easy lately. Not that it ever was but with his biggest fear being met with not one but two of his siblings disappearing on him and then izzy showing up not wanting to be healed it was especially hard. The young male had been stressed, high strung, anxiety ridden and spacey all at the same time. He usually always was but lately it was like the stress was on steroids taking over his body completely. It took Alec longer the most people normally needed to register the fact that there was a person standing right in front of him attempting to start a conversation. “ Im sorry .. what?” He shook his head like he was attempting to remove the fog that clogged up his brain

“No, he just kept calling him warlock, or even pet sometimes. Which was….disturbing to say the least” She made a face and looked to the side “I’m guessing that the fact that he has downworlders working for him isn’t a surprise for you”

If only the Lightwood girl knew just how disturbing Valentine could actually get, she would have a lot more to fear. “No, it is not. We’ve been getting all sorts of reports of downworlders being on Valentine’s side.” You would think they would know better since they are the ones he wants to eradicate. “This warlock. How exactly did he torture you?”

“And as mad as he is, he doesn’t talk to himself” She let out an exhasperated huff “He didn’t said anything, the only person with him was always the warlock that helped him torture me”

“A warlock?” That bit of information caught her interest. They already knew that there were warlocks working for Valentine. More information would be helpful. “Did you catch a name?”

“Well, it wasn’t like Valentine have given me a tour while I was kept captive” She said twirling her stele around “I was kept in a room, blindfolded and gagged, I couldn’t see anything”

“What about the things you heard or felt? Names. Part of a plan. As mad as Valentine is, he always had a plan. I cannot imagine that he abducted you because he was bored.”

“I know, but after killing her father when she lost control she has distanced herself.”

“She was the one who killed Henrik? By the angel. She must be so distraught. Would you help me contact her? I need to speak with my grand daughter.”
