the fact that Ronan Cannot see his friends is literally the entire point of call down the hawk!!! going from all-consuming friendships with people you see every day to either a) having to adapt to an entirely new community and environment (adam) or b) staying in the same place, now alone, while your friends build new lives (ronan) is an Integral, Difficult part of becoming An Adult and mstief is writing a Young Adult Novel about developing independent identities and the complicated, scary, frustrating struggle that is making and maintaining friends as an adult
