There’s a slight frown , not liking the fact that Barricade was so stubborn on this. He gets that he might be scared of Peter leaving – or not wanting to be his friend – but Peter doesn’t think that’s really possible. He likes the Decepticon, even if … he was just that , a Decepticon. He was kind to him … and he was really cool.

“ You just telling me your opinions isn’t helping anything, ‘Cade. I need to make my own judgments on this matter. And just putting me in the backseat of your car isn’t going to just solve everything. I’m my own person … and I don’t need someone holding my hand and telling me what I should or shouldn’t be feeling. If you cared about me, or respected me, you’d let me make my own decision. I’m not a kid. ”

    “You don’t deserve to know our history,” he practically growled out, “you barely deserve to be called an ally.” It was a rare occurrence that ‘Cade was ever this blunt or even this angry with Peter, but this wasn’t a simple conversation. 

There was no agree to disagree in this situation. 

There was a right answer and there was a wrong answer. 

There was no in between. 

That was the exact reason that ‘Cade rarely mentioned anything about the Decepticons or the Autobots around Peter. He wouldn’t understand the fight or the reasons behind the unending war. 

Maybe he never would.   

“You do this and i’ll crush you.” It was a bold statement, even for someone like him who only cared about two Humans, but even ‘Cade has his...limitations. 

   “ – no, I care about him because … he’s him. I don’t know why I care this much, but he means a lot to me and I don’t know how to even describe it. It’s the first time in a long time I’ve felt like this towards someone … and I’m not going to give it up. I know he’s like … being led down this shitty path, but I know I’d do anything to save him form your little boyband’s ‘cause’. The Decepticons don’t care about him… ”

Arms cross, finding his laughter annoying at the moment, considering he was one of the reasons why she wanted to get Jess out of this mess. They’re close, Jess and Cade, but that doesn’t mean it’s good for Jess. Cade is letting all of this pain to continue … and probably knows what they’ll do to Jess after everything.

“ I … really don’t care if he doesn’t choose me … as long as he realizes that he needs to get out of there as quick as possible. To get away from you. You don’t care about him at all. If you did, you would give up on the Cons and protect your human. Or are you just a fucking coward? ”

    “Do you truly think that your organic attitude will save him?” A simple question as the laughter began to come to a halt. “That you hold that much sway over someone like him? He’s no longer part of your... little species. He may be Human by birth, but there is no doubt in my mind he’s something else.” 

Cade could have gone on, but he didn’t think it was necessary. Vic already had an idea of who he was, who the Decepticons were, and she didn’t like him. She didn’t like him because of how much attachment Jess had to him and while it was understandable? It didn’t mean that Cade had to truly like it either.

“You know nothing of the cause,” of war, “and you never will know. You just care about protecting him from his own choices. His own actions and when you don’t like his path? You try to put lies in his head.” Not exactly the truth, but close to it in ‘Cade’s mind. 

If there was one thing ‘Cade hated above all else, it was Decepticon traitors, and while he was willing to at least given them the time of day… there were times where it didn’t seem necessary or even wanted. Not that he could really talk - ‘Cade figured that he had been labeled a traitor more than once, but at least he had his reasons; all of them was to further the cause and if killing Autobots happened? So be it.

However, in this case, Wheelie wasn’t a simple Autobot, but rather, once upon a time… used to be a Decepticon. It was a strange thing, for a traitor to the cause to still be alive, and yet things were not so simple anymore. 

Sides were changed due to issues and even an Organic had joined the Decepticon ranks. A strange thing in itself - not that ‘Cade would ever admit such a thing, but times were changing and what was one black and white turned into a shade of grey.

Just not in the case of his anger or anyone against the Decepticon cause. 

Put himself and a traitor -without good reason- in the same place? There was only one possible option for the traitor: death if all possible.

   “ – you better not! I do not belong back there! I belong here, not in … the backseat of you! You’re not teaching me anything! ”

          “We have already gotten farther than many once believed we would ever be able to. There is always a chance for unlikely events to occur - unless one doesn’t try at all. That’s why we must at least try. Not all humans hate us. That’s enough reason to have hope.”  How far the once deviant hunter had come. Before, he would have agreed with the Decepticon - only he would have submitted to the humans hatred, uncaring and unknowing of anything better.  “What would you have us do then?”

   “ – you know what I mean, nuts and bolts. ” As Barricade takes a step forward, she doesn’t budge – instead she glares straight up at him. “ Because he cares about me? I don’t have a lot of people in my life who do … so he’s important to me. ”

  “So you care about him because he says he cares about you?” ‘Cade lets out what could be considered laughter. “That he actually will put you ahead of himself?” He actually found it quite hilarious - even more so than expected. 

“I wouldn’t put too much faith into him.” A simple assumption told as a basic fact. 

   “ – well, clearly war wasn’t the best plan. ” It’s both a smart-ass comment and a serious one, shaking his head up at the other. War wasn’t good, no matter the situation – Peter could never understand why people turned to violence to solve their issues when they could easily talk things out. Sure, he fought baddies – but they wouldn’t just be talked out of robbing that store or stealing whatever.

“ You could have united. You guys could have looked around the galaxy for an uninhabited planet or something. Just rebuild your life and … start over! Fighting wasn’t – and isn’t – needed. If you guys keep going like this, your race will be completely extinct. And you guys will only have yourselves to blame. ”

  “You should take a look at humanity before you judge my kind,” he says sharply. “All I have seen about your world is war. The entire species of Humanity fighting over scraps of land for your entire existence. From your first steps to your final breath. That is all Humanity is; a warrior race that will destroy itself given the right ammunition. The right incentive. A few thousand deaths... maybe even a few million - a virus, maybe even the threat of mutually assured destruction. Someone will push the button first... will ensure that those lives are lost and when the other retaliates? It will already be far too late.” Maybe ‘Cade had been watching far too may videos or reading far too much into things, but he believed he knew about Humanity. That he knew what would eventually happen - no matter what anyone tried to do, say, or even managed to do. 

   “ – this is information he does require. Are you like the other Cons and just using him? He trusts you and you’re just letting him be used? And tracked like some dog? You don’t care about him. ”
