Neteyam × fem!human!reader
Summary - Neteyam is adorable beyond words and one day the cuteness is just too much for you to handle.
Warnings - tooth rotting fluff, getting caught kissing, playful biting
Neteyam and you were in your room back at Hell's Gate. His siblings were out doing Eywa knows what and and his parents were probably busy with clan duties.
You and Neteyam desperately needed some alone time together. Away from his rowdy siblings and chatty father.
Especially away from the prying glares of his mother, even mentioning her made you shiver. The way she'd stare you down harder than Spider.
She knew of your relationship with Neteyam. That probably makes her hate you more then Spider.
You both sat on the floor of your bedroom, enjoying each others presence, letting a comfortable silence take over the space.
You stared at Neteyam, eyes tracing his every feature. Counting the bioluminescent freckles that decorated his cheeks, forehead and nose.
Neteyam was cute in ways you didn't think was possible for such oversized stoic blue aliens you've come to know.
He was the cutest of them all.
The way his ears would flick back when a noise was too loud or too sudden, the way his pupils would grow in size when locked in on something .
The way he'd do his stupid head tilt—You blame his father for that.
His big honeyed coloured eyes that only seem to grow softer everytime he looked your way, often making you get lost in its sweetness.
The little things he'd remember you liked or even just mentioned in passing.
He'd bring back little trinkets and souvenirs from hunts, saying thet reminded him of you.
The way he'd tuck your hair behind you ear if a piece strayed to close to your face.
Every little thing he did tugged your heartstrings.
Now he was playing with the little trinkets in your room. The little trinkets left behind by humans before they got kicked off Pandora.
He stuck his tongue out as he concentrated, his ears would flick with every new sound and action the trinkets made.
You couldn't take it anymore, his adorable and sweet actions have pushed you over the edge. You quickly stood up and walked over to him.
Neteyam looked up at you, he still sat on the floor, his fingers stopped fidgeting with the trinkets.
"Yawntutsyìp? What is the matter?" He asked seeing you stand in front of him. Your face was blank as you stared at him.
You grabbed his face between your hands, staring into his eyes before leaning down to his side, breath on his cheek.
You chomped down on his slim cheek—not too harsh—his skin was tough, almost like leather. Neteyam let out a noise of surprise, jolting at the sudden aggression.
You released his cheek shortly after, a slight indent in his cheek of where your blunt teeth sank down.
"What was that for?" Neteyam asked warily, his hand coming up to rub the spot you bit.
"You're just too cute, it made me feel the need to just bite you." You sighed dreamily, resting your head on your head.
"Why? Have I done something to upset you?" Neteyam asked, his eyes filled with panic and worry as his lips turned into a slight frown .
"No, no, see when humans see something really cute, chemicals get released in our brains that makes us act aggressive in response, it's called cuteness aggression." You explained to him hurriedly. Your arms moving cartoonishly, worried he'd think you were acting this way for the wrong reasons.
You shook your head frantically, waving your arms in front of you.
Neteyam slowly nodded his head, taking time to process the information you dumped on him.His ears flicking back as his eyes blink slowly.
"There it is again, ugh you're just too cute Teyam." You sigh dramatically, planting your hands on either side of his face again, pulling him out of his thoughts.
You just wanted to squeeze his cheeks and gobble him up.
He laughed and dragged you down into his lap , your size difference comical. His hand grabs your face, smushing your cheeks in between his overly large fingers—pulling your lips into a pout—and nuzzling his nose into them causing you to giggle and squirm.
He looked at you innocently before opening his mouth, gently sinking his teeth into the exposed chub of your cheek. Tickling you a little .
"Neteyam stop it!" You playfully shoved him. His body didn't move an inch as he stayed the same for a moment before finally releasing you. A slight indent in your skin from where his canines were.
He titled his head as he looked at you with his impossibly big eyes, trying to look as sweet as possible.
"What is the matter yawntutsyìp? You also give me cuteness aggression." His words were faux innocence. He batted his honey coloured eyes at you, lashes fluttering.
"You're such a liar." You said while rolling your eyes. Flicking his nose lightly.
Neteyam laughed heartily, his mouth forming a wide open smile as his laugh sounded like a sweet melody.
Your heart swelled, so full of sweetness that just wanted to burst your heart open and let it all ozze out.
He hugs you closer, your chest almost pressed up against his. His lips pressed against your cheek, peppering your cheek with kisses.
"Teyam stop!" Your laugh was contagious as you playfully tried to get away from him. Trying to get off him with no avail.
After a minute or two he finally stopped. Your cheek covered in slight slobber from his intense barrage of sweet kisses.
You both had slightly frizzed hair and damp skin from all the play fighting.
He separated himself to look at you, really look at you. Tracing over your features, every blemish and mark you had. He just couldn't get enough of you.
Your hands rested on his shoulders, you stared at his lips before looking back at his eyes. His hands coming up to your face.
He grabbed your face gently, pulling you in . His face was getting closer, you could feel his breath on your face.
You instinctively closed your eyes.
You two shared a kiss, his lips met your lips. It felt almost magical, sparks flying. It felt like hundreds of shimmerflies were fluttering around in your belly.
You flushed, even though it wasn't your first shared kiss with him. It always made you shy everytime you did kiss.
You both let go, catching your breath.
His forehead was resting against yours.
You both stared at each other, it felt like time slowed down in that moment. All you could was look into his eyes, a shade similar to golden sunlight, something you just couldn't look away from.
"Nga lu fìtxan lor." Neteyam whispered. His large hand came up to caress the side of your face. Thumb rubbing right under your eye. Making your skin feel hot and flushed.
You both were so distracted, you didn't hear the commotion happening at the entrance of your bedroom.
You opened your mouth to speak, heart filling with indescribable amount of love you have, words of admiration and compliments ready to spill out for him.
"Yo bro, we're back." Lo'ak had interrupted you, making his presence known. Making all their presence known to the both of you.
The door to your bedroom was opened, you both didn't hear it.
Both your eyes widened as you realised your position and then seeing their approaching figures.
Neteyam and you immediately separated, facing away from each other. You both embarrassed at getting caught.
Lo'ak, Kiri, Tuk and Spider all stood by the entrance. Their eyes widening for a second before fake gags and teasing 'ooos' were shared amongst the crowd of siblings.
Tuk and Spider began singing rhymes about you two kissing on a tree. Both their faces holding cheeky grins.
"Gross guys." Kiri's voice held disgust as she made a puking motion with her face, tongue sticking out and nose scrunched.
"Oooo look at me, I'm kissing my girlfriend." Lo'ak laughed out loud, using a higher pitched voice to mock his brother, pointing at Neteyam and making kissing noises.
Neteyam got up and stared down Lo'ak, eyes darkening before he began charging at him. Lo'ak started running for his life, cackling at his brother's embarrassed state.
Spider hollering and yelling fight repeatedly at them.
You, Kiri and Tuk only stood by and watched them act stupid, laughing at their immaturity.
"Seriously though Y/n, my brother really? " Kiri said, side eyeing you heavily with fake disgust. One of her eyebrows lifting, questioning why you would fall for one of her brothers.
Sure she loved her brothers but the thought of one of her best friend being with any of them romantically, made her ill.
You could only sheepishly shrug, a crooked smile dawned your face. You looked back at Neteyam once more, chuckling when you see him put his brother in a chokehold. Lo'ak tapping on his forearm for mercy.
You loved moments like these, where everyone had fun. You especially loved spending any time with the boy you love.
Neteyam glanced over, still choking Lo'ak out—who began looking a shade of purple—he gave you wink, cheeky smile decorating his face
.You fanned yourself and feigned fainting, hand on your head as you leaned back, Kiri's hands on your back pretending to catch you, playing along.
