Anonymous request: Imagine Sherlock comforting you after you come out to your parents and it goes badly

You usually met up with Sherlock to help with a case, occasionally he had use for information you were able to gather that he was less able to get, especially if that information was needed quickly and he didn't have the time to throw himself into a setting to get said information.

You were running a little late this time which Sherlock found odd. You were normally more punctual than he was. When you arrived, still only a couple minutes after the hour you had agreed upon, Sherlock could immediately tell something was wrong. You were disheveled, looking like you'd left somewhere in a hurry. You weren't quite roughed up but a fading redness on your cheek made him suspect you'd been slapped across the face. He tried to keep his face neutral as he watched you approach.

"Sorry," you apologized as you sat down at the table in the nearly empty cafe you had agreed to meet at. "I got a bit waylaid leaving my parents' house."

"What happened?" He asked, concerned for your safety.

"Don't worry about it," you tried to brush him off. "You wanted some information about who's been frequenting the dock workers?"

Sherlock didn't respond, looking at you, noting the way you didn't make eye contact and you still were breathing heavier than normal even though you had sat down. You seemed eager to look anywhere but his face.

"Sherlock?" You said in a questioning tone, hoping he would get back to the point of your meeting. Really you wanted to focus on anything but where you had just come from.

"What happened at your parents' home?" He asked.

You met his eyes for a moment and he saw sadness. Human emotion may not be as much his expertise as physical clues but he knew you and he knew what that expression was.

"They confronted me about my activities, told me I was causing them great embarrassment by going around the way I was and playing pretend. I told them it wasn't pretend, that this is who I want to be, who I am. My mother hit me, said I wasn't her daughter anymore. Which is sort of what I had wanted to hear, but not like that."

Sherlock frowned. He hated to hear that they had reacted like that. It wasn't entirely surprising; there was a good reason you had kept this secret from them of course but there had always been a little hope that it wouldn't go so poorly. It wasn't something you vocalized often, you seemed to prefer talking about cases when the two of you met up. He guessed those interactions were some of the times you felt most normal, someone just treating you as you wanted to be treated. he knew that he himself was viewed as something of an oddity by many; why would he feel any need to critique your life.

"I'm sorry to hear that." He reached across the table and put a hand on your arm. 

You were surprised by the move of comfort from him. It wasn't that Sherlock was ever unkind, certainly not with you, but you'd never figured him to be much of the comforting sort. You'd always assumed your relationship was rather predicated on the business transaction of information. Not that you didn't want to befriend the detective, he was possibly your favorite person to interact with as you didn't feel obligated to maintain any pretense with him. You smiled sadly.

"Thank you Sherlock."

"I'm not sure you will find this heartening, I know familial relations can be complicated, but I do not think they are worth your strife. You've proven yourself time and time again to be the man you want to be."

You met Sherlock's eyes. He was right, family was complicated and you weren't sure this single interaction meant you would be simply extricating yourself from their lives in this instant. Knowing he felt that way meant a lot though. You honestly hadn't been sure how he viewed you, other than being useful for information. And while you were happy to be of use to the detective, it was nice to know that he viewed you the way you wanted to be seen.

"Now, you said you had information for me?"

Anonymous request: Being Clint’s Son, and Kate becoming a sister figure to you? *A/N This didn't specify imagine or headcanon so I'm opting for imagine.

When your dad brought home Kate for the first time you were curious. He'd only brought the Avengers before when something pretty big was happening and you were immediately worried that something bad was happening again.

"Dad," you said when you were able to get him alone for a moment, "is the world going to get snapped again?"

"No," he assured you quickly. "It's nothing like that. There is something going on though and Kate and I are taking care of it. She can't really be at home right now so she's going to be here for a bit, is that okay with you?"

Not that you really had much of a choice, even if you didn't want her there, it seemed like she didn't have anywhere else to go and your dad did trust her so that kind of had to be good enough. And to be honest, it was. Kate didn't scare you, she actually seemed kind of cool. She was nice to you and your brothers.

She offered to teach you some archery. Which she then immediately withdrew because she was sure your dad had already taught you or at least offered and that was totally his place and not hers and she was probably overstepping by offering.

You tried not to laugh at her backpedaling.

"It would be kinda cool if you taught me some stuff," you said. Your dad hadn't ever offered to teach you. In fact, up until that time he brought the Avengers over, he'd tried very hard to keep his home life and his hero life entirely separate. You'd asked once, after the Avengers had come by. He'd said you didn't need to worry about that kind of thing and should focus on school instead.

Kate smiled and immediately led the way outside to where your dad had set up a target for her to use while she was here. She showed you how to hold the bow, how far back to draw, and how to aim. 

Unsurprisingly, if a bit disappointingly, you were terrible. Your first shot missed the target entirely. But, Kate gave you some tips and after a few more shots you were able to hit the outermost ring on the target.

When you came back inside after practicing for a bit, your dad looked mad. He was trying to hide it, but you recognized it.

"Hey dad, I asked Kate to show me her bow and she did. Wasn't that really nice of her to trust me with it?" You said, before either he or Kate could say anything.

"Yeah, that was nice. I'm surprised she trusted you with it. I'm glad no one got hurt," Clint replied. He wasn't sure he believed your statement. The way you'd spoken so fast made him suspect you might be covering for Kate. But, he couldn't prove it and honestly if you were, it was a bit difficult to be mad at you for trying to stand up for her. He'd deal with it later. "Why don't you go help your mom set the table for dinner?"

You headed off, with a glance back at Kate. Unfortunately, she had no poker face and you suspected your efforts to cover for her would be in vain. At least you'd tried.

When the time came for them to go back to New York, you worried for both of them. So far, your dad had always made it back but you worried that Kate wasn't as experienced as he was.

"Be careful," you said as they were getting ready to leave. "Mom will be real disappointed if you get hurt."

"We'll be careful," Your dad said.

"Yeah, we can't be disappointing Mrs. Barton," Kate agreed.

"Y'know," you said quietly, half just thinking out loud, "I think Aunt Nat would be really happy to hear we finally got a sister."

Kate turned to Clint, who smiled sadly at you.

Anonymous request: Imagine being Rey's younger brother and her rescuing you from the First Order

Rey was kicking herself the whole flight to get you. For letting you get captured, for how long it had taken her to get on her way to you, for not just running after you at the first opportunity, pushing harder for a faster rescue mission. While everyone -- Finn, Poe, Leia, and BB-8 -- had all told her not to be foolhardy and not to rush in with no plan, it had killed her to listen. But if even Poe was advising caution, she knew it was worth listening. It wasn't a long time of planning by most standards, in fact it was probably the fastest they'd ever gone straight for a First Order base. From conception to execution, the plan only took a week. But for her, that week was hell.

She couldn't imagine what hell it was for you.

Flying in with a few pilots, Finn at her side, the goal was get in and get you out as quickly as possible. This was not a strike, nor even really an intelligence gathering mission. You were the target and anything else was just icing. 

Landing a little ways away, the team prepared to hit the base. It was small, the First Order hadn't yet moved you, still waiting on orders from Ren or one of the higher officers for where to take you. Which was good, it made the mission easier for the Resistance. The first plan was stealth, the backup was violence.

"Will, I have a cold, you're being ridiculous."

"Which one of us has a medical degree?" He retorted, his non-answer telling you all you needed to know about how this was going to go. Not that you'd really had any doubts before that. He'd been hovering over you since the moment you mentioned feeling under the weather.

He couldn't help it. He worked in a hospital and he couldn't help worrying that he might have brought something home to you.

"Will, really, I'm going to be okay. Besides, maybe you should stay away anyway so you don't catch it." Will would dote on you if you were sick but if he was sick he would be living in denial and try to push through it. It was a very bad sign if Will was sick enough to not argue about resting.

But, Will was not the one who was sick here. It was you. And he was oh so persistent.

You were adopted after the battle of New York by the Bishops, having lost your own parents in the battle. It was a bond that you and Kate could share and one of the first things you really talked about together once you were ready.

It was a rough transition for everyone and you didn't settle in easily. Things were awkward and tense and everyone didn't really know how to act about it. Kate mostly just wanted to talk a lot and show you whatever she was passionate about, which was most of the time her archery stuff.

Kate was the one who ended up somewhat haphazardly managing to get you social.

She was a little awkward, but she was also incredibly stubborn.

Kate was excited to have a brother and was a little overly enthusiastic, at least in your opinion, about trying to be your friend. She invited you to all her archery things and tried to get you into it as well but you were never interested like she was.

It was a weird balance where you wanted her to like you but trying to keep her at arm's length because you didn't want to risk getting close just for her to leave. You wanted to trust her and be her friend because it was nice to have a friend but you were always afraid that she would never really see you as family and would treat you different when she got the chance, maybe even simply leave you and stop talking to you once you didn't live in the same house.

For a while, you bounced between following her around and avoiding her as you tried to work your way through your own complicated feelings about the situation. Kate struggled with the flip-flopping but ultimately was always there, whether you wanted her to be or not. And her continued insistence on showing up for you really helped your relationship.

There were lots of fights in high school as the two of you got through those difficult times and those moments where she insisted on being around when you tried to push her away but you never held them against her, nor she against you.

Truly the best thing for your relationship was when she met Clint, though you wouldn't have said that at the start.

At first it terrified you that she was going to go off and join his family and leave you. After all, she was so excited about meeting him, her hero, and getting to work with him on their mission.

Of course you were worried for her safety, but the threat of death honestly just didn't seem real, working with an Avenger. No, your fear of her leaving was much bigger, even if you knew it was irrational and you probably should be more concerned for her life and not her picking Clint's family over you.

You guys had a big argument about it the first time she was away for too long without saying anything and you almost had a crisis about never seeing her again. She was so excited about the opportunity and all you saw was your sister and probably favorite person in the world leaving you for another family. Fortunately she was able to see the fight for what it was and assure you that she didn't want to leave you, she wanted to bring you with her.

But instead she was so excited to introduce you to Clint and his family. She practically dragged you to their place at the first opportunity.

It also doubled as keeping you safe when things got bad but mostly she just wanted you to meet her awesome mentor.

After Yelena became not an enemy, Kate was ready to play big meshed family with all of you.

It was weird at first but given the amount of trauma the whole group had, you found yourself bonding with them faster than you'd ever expected.

Kate of course was helpful for getting you initially talking to people. She provided introductions, funny stories, and usually some favorite awkward encounters.

Clint and Laura were happy to have you around and their kids were excited to have another brother around too. 

After everything that had gone down with Mrs. Bishop, you were hesitant about them, but a part of you just needed something to cling to in that moment. And Kate was vouching for them so you found yourself letting it happen, even if part of you fought back against it.

You wrung your hands as you paced your room in the bunker. You’d gone over in your head a hundred times what you wanted to say, how you wanted to say it, and how you would respond to their most likely questions. Hell, you’d made flash cards for yourself to practice. It was not an overstatement to say you had spent hours preparing.

All the what-ifs ran through your mind, like they’d done a thousand times before. You were worried, of course, about what their reaction would be. You figured, or at least hoped, that the worst you would get from you dad Cas was confusion given that the angels didn’t seem to be exceedingly particular about their bodies and that their true form couldn’t be ascribed to a human binary anyway. Your dad Dean worried you more. On the one hand, it was more likely he actually knew what being trans meant. On the other, what if he didn’t approve.

There was a lot you and Natasha could bond over. You were a late comer to the Avengers, SHIELD had found you after the whole situation in New York with Loki. But the two of you had a lot in common. Raised to be a certain way and trying to be something different.

It was after a tough mission that the two of you first really talked. You went to her room afterward, not really sure what you were looking for but knowing you needed someone to talk to. Hesitantly, you knocked on her door.

“Come in,” came her voice.

You opened the door and saw her sitting at a desk with papers spread out in front of her and a tablet open with even more information on it.

“Sorry, I didn’t know you were working-” you began but she cut you off.

“Oh dad is going to be pissed.”

You knew there was no explaining your way out of this one. This was supposed to be a difficult one but you had been confident you could handle yourself here. You were mistaken and now you had a bullet wound going through your shoulder. And it was, unmistakably, a bullet wound. A hospital would have to report it so you thought about stitching yourself up at home but since it was on your dominant arm, you didn’t think you could manage it.

You didn’t want your youngest siblings to see any of this - your injury or your outfit. They didn’t need to know you were out here doling out vigilante justice. That was not something that would go over well with them.

Instead, you gritted your teeth and called your dad.

Anonymous request: Imagine Reid noticing you having a panic attack at a crime scene.

Working for the BAU required a strong constitution to be sure. The things you witnessed, both the victims and the killers themselves, would take a toll on anyone.

You'd gotten pretty good at handling a lot of it. Some of it was just exposure over time and what that didn't cover you had little coping mechanisms you could use as needed. Very little rattled you these days.

There didn't seem to be anything all that special about the latest case. Serial killer in Pennsylvania, torturing his victims before killing them. While of course every case was unique, there wasn't anything in Penelope's brief that stood out to you denoting this one would be a particularly memorable case.

Ready with your go-bag, you and the team hopped on the jet for a short flight up to the area. On the flight it was decided that you, Reid, Prentiss, and Morgan would go to the crime scene while the others got set up at the station and began talking with the victims' family members.

You got the scene, ready to see what the pictures had shown you before.

As you all arrived, you each took to a slightly different aspect of the scene. You went ahead and went straight for the body first. The local police had already photographed and collected evidence so the body was covered. You lifted the sheet and began looking for all the details that the camera couldn't capture.

You couldn't quite place the feeling in the pit of your stomach as you studied the victim, turning over the details Penelope had told you all about the victim on the flight over. Connecting those details to the man lying in front of you along with the knowledge of what had happened leading up to their arrival here.

Normally, such things didn't phase you. But today, something about all of it - the victim, the torture, the disposal of the body - it just clicked with you in the worst way possible.

What had started as a pit in your stomach grew and you tried to act casual as you covered the victim once again and stepped away, pretending to study the surrounding area. Your back turned to the others as you felt your heartbeat picking up. You clenched your fists, trying to still the shaking in your hands. The fact that you felt out of control and unused to the situation only added to the discomfort and fear you felt. Not only was something about this case causing you extreme distress, but you really didn't want the team to see. You'd worked hard to prove yourself and you didn't want them seeing you losing control like this.

Your breathing was shaky as you tried to take quiet fast breaths, unable to breath deep and slow the way that with a clearer mind you knew would help. It seemed to be successful, at least at not drawing attention to you even if it did nothing to ease your panic.

"[Y/N]?" Spencer's voice came from behind you. "Are you okay? You've been quiet. Normally you share all your observations out loud." He said.

"I'm fine." Your quiet, shaky voice betrayed you. You didn't want to draw the attention of the others, it was bad enough Reid had noticed you weren't acting normal right now.

Spencer came up next to you. He noticed easily your tightened fists and the rapid, shallow rise and fall of your chest.

"Hey, [Y/N], can you try and take a deep breath, nice and slow?" He said gently.

You shook your head, unsure of everything right now.

"I think you're having a panic attack. I know it seems really hard, but you will feel better if you can just breathe a little slower." He said.

You focused on your breathing, managing to at least slow it some, still faster than normal but now it wasn't quite as fast as the pounding of your chest.

"That sounds a little better." He said encouragingly. "Does it feel a little better?"

You held up your hand, with a little space between your thumb and index finger indicating that it was helping.

"Good, that's really good. Close your eyes for a second and just think about your breathing. If it helps, you can try counting. Inhale for four seconds."

He counted aloud and you managed to time your breathing to his counting.

"Now hold it for four."

Again he counted. Eyes closed, his voice was the only thing you heard and you held your breath.

"Exhale now."

He counted out four again and you slowly released your breath. The pounding of your heart had slowed some and it was easier now to steady your breaths.

"Thanks." You said.

"Of course."

"I don't know what happened. I've done this so many times, I don't know what set it off but it just came on and I couldn't breathe and it just felt so bad and I don't know why." Your words rushed out.

"Sometimes there's not a reason for panic attacks, they can just come on. Maybe something about this subconsciously reminded you of something that set it off."

You sighed, the tension leaving your shoulders as they dropped.

"I feel stupid. I've always handled this fine before."

"You're not stupid." Reid assured you quickly. "Panic attacks don't make a person stupid. You know, Nikola Tesla likely suffered from panic attacks and he was a brilliant inventor. Not to mention that studies show that around 3% of adults have a panic disorder but 11% of people may experience a panic attack."

You managed a small laugh at the fact Reid had those statistics ready off the top of his head. Listening to him explain it, reassuring you in the most classic Reid way, you found your heart rate slowing down again and your hands stopped shaking.

"That, that actually does help. Do you, um, do you think you could not tell the others about this?"

"Sure. But, you know, you can ask for help if you need it. There's nothing wrong with that."

"I appreciate that Reid. I see why they gave you a PhD."

Reid smiled at that. It had been hard, seeing you struggle and being unsure if his advice would actually be helpful. But, he was glad it did and that you trusted him with this.

"So," you said, "back to the case?"

But for real, yes I am still alive. I have my writing groove back, there are in fact several fics in the queue (we don't have to talk about how old some of the requests are), and I'm thinking of adding a new fandom or two to my list!

Anonymous request: Imagine dating Will and him taking care of you when you get sick

"Will, honestly, it's just," you paused as you felt a sneeze coming on, "a cold." You managed to finish your sentence before sneezing loudly.

Will was clearly hearing none of your protests. He had gone full doctor mode, in spite of the fact that you were so certain this was nothing more than the common cold.

He pressed his hand to your forehead, for probably the fifth time in the last hour.

"Your temp's a little elevated." He said. You could have sworn he was making a chart on his phone.

"Maybe my head's warm because you keep touching it." You retorted.

Will gave you a look. The head tilt, raised eyebrow look that was clearly meant to ask 'which one of us has a medical degree?' It was cute, albeit slightly condescending, not that you could really mind.

"Okay, okay." You relented a little before reaching out and holding his hand. "Will," you said, drawing his attention and finally getting him to look you in the eyes as a partner and not as a doctor, "I appreciate you taking care of me, but you can relax a little. I promise."

Will searched your eyes before giving that cute little smile of his and nodding a little.

"I'll make you a deal," he said, "you let me take your temperature, get a new box of tissues out here, and get you some cough drops,"

"This better have a good deal for me at the end." You interrupted as he listed what he wanted to do. He smiled again before continuing.

"Then you can pick whatever show you want to watch, and I will sit here on the couch with you and offer no medical advice unless you ask for it."

That was a pretty tempting deal. Will had needed to give you some space the first day you were sick since he had to work and he couldn't very well be bringing a cold into the ED. But, he had tomorrow off and was not apparently willing to risk the germs.

"You've got yourself a deal." You said decisively.

"Good. Don't go anywhere." He said, standing up to go get his supplies.

"Uh-huh, right. I'm a real Usain Bolt right now." You said, looking down at your sprawled position on the couch, wrapped comfortably and messily in a blanket or possibly two (you weren't sure at this point).

Will chuckled at your response as he walked away. He did what seemed to be a larger lap of the apartment than necessary but he was soon back with the new tissues, a whole bag of cough drops, a thermometer, and something he was hiding behind his back.

"Will, what's that?" You asked.

"Don't worry about it." He said with a little smirk. "Now open up."

Your curiosity piqued, there was nothing to do but comply at the moment. You opened your mouth and Will put the thermometer in, letting you hold it in place. Shortly, it beeped and Will took it out to read.

"99.1." He said. "I guess it isn't that elevated."

"See, told you."

"You did, you were right." He conceded, much to your pleasure.

"So, are you going to show me what it is you're hiding?" You asked.

Will brought his hand forward as he sat down on the couch next to you, offering you a box of your favorite crackers he must have grabbed from the pantry.

"I know you haven't been that hungry, but I thought you could use a snack."

You smiled up at him gratefully. It was really sweet that he'd thought of that actually. And given that you hadn't been off the couch in a few hours, you were in fact in need of some food.

"Aw, thanks Will." You said, leaning over to give him a quick peck on the cheek. "You're a good boyfriend."

"So are you." He said, kissing your forehead. "But you do make a terrible patient."

"Yeah well I hear you do too."
