Also, for the first X-Men film, I want her to feel anxious about using her powers because she realizes the pain she caused to the innocent citizens. Jean momentarily feels she and her powers are dangerous until, with help from Xavier, she recognizes that she truly wants to use her abilities for good and build a world where mutants and humans can live in peace (in honor of her sister).

With the right writers, I think Jean could have a great arc and grow into the person she is in the comics.

so you never actually applied for this position

one night while you were watching tv there was a knock on your door

and you looked through the peephole of course because you are responsible & safe

nothing could have prepared you to see tony stark standing there

and when you do open the door, before you can say hello, he’s walking into your place

like oh okay and hello mr stark what are you doing here even

“i’ll make this quick, kid. i need you on my team. are you available to start tomorrow?”

and you’re kind of just like 

standing there jaw dropped

he turns & actually looks at you for the first time. 

slight softening in his face but it goes away quickly

“are you?”

and you nod.

“great. i’ll send happy with a car at eight-thirty.”

sticks his hand out to shake yours.

“looking forward to it.”

and boom he’s gone

and the next day you’re waiting on the curb for a car to pull up

wearing your business casual best

iron man pin hidden inside your purse for good luck

and then here comes a black car, tinted windows. 

you open the back door, but you hear a “you can take shotgun”.

so you do

& the driver introduces himself as happy hogan

and he doesn’t really smile too much but maybe it’s because it’s the morning

you try to keep up some conversation but he’s pretty short with answering

he does let you control the radio though

and when you settle on a station his eyes glide to it & you see the corner of his mouth turn up, the smallest nod of approval calming your nerves

that and when someone cuts him off, you both mutter the same insult under your breath

he opens the passenger side door for you which is a nice touch

and accompanies you up the loooooooooong elevator ride

guides you through the security systems

“don’t move during the retinal scan. you’ll be evaporated in a second.”

“really?”

“...no. but don’t.”

and then he’s telling you to hit this button in the elevator & immediately turn left & then he’s waving at you as the elevator doors close & you’re alone again

and it’s lowkey sad bc you kind of got attached to him already & now you’re freaked out

but then the elevator doors open right into stark’s workshop & man oh man you can’t hide the way your eyes widen

you had dreamed of getting to see this one day, you couldn’t believe you were actually here

“are you the intern? welcome!”

a smiling man with gray hair is standing with a guy around your age, who is smiling equally as big

“i’m dr–”

“dr. banner. it’s a pleasure to meet you!” you finish, too excited, already reaching to shake his hand, which he does with a chuckle.

“call me bruce… and this is peter. he’ll be your partner in crime this summer, yeah?”

peter parker… you had gone to midtown together, but you never really interacted much. it had been a year or so since you had seen him last…

“oh! i almost forgot..”

bruce shuffles around the table behind him, handing you a bag with your name & a big smiley face.

“just a welcome gift.”

you and peter open them at the same time… 

“no way.”

“you’re kidding!”

the both of you lift your very own stark branded lab goggles.

peter nudges you.

“i’ve been here for like… months now… he never gave me THESE!”

you shrug, grinning.

“what can i say?”

bruce laughs again, and then he shows you to the workstation for you and peter

it comes alive when you step near it, whirring & humming in a way that made your heart leap

you knew your cheeks were gonna hurt from smiling

but it was just so exciting!

“let’s get to it then. are you familiar with holographic technology?”

you nod.

“perfect. then i’ll expect you can get peter familiarized with it as well?”

another nod, & bruce gives you a pat on the shoulder.

“great. i’ll be back soon.”

you and peter click right away.

he’s not exactly clear about how he got involved with stark in the first place but it doesn’t really bother you.

he’s been around the tower enough that he knows where all the secrets are.

just as you’re about to go explore one of these, a voice booms around the room.

“lunchtime.”

peter gestures for you to follow him & you do, heading down the elevator to the living floor, where a huge, stretched out oak table awaits. 

but that’s not where you’re gonna eat

you guys go to the kitchen, where tony stark is getting his chef on. 

well. if you count placing various takeout boxes on the counters as getting your chef on

“new chinese place down the street.” he speaks, nodding for you two to grab food first.

and during lunch he never stops talking about work

but he’s so funny it’s like it doesn’t even matter.

& dr. banner loves to interject 

it’s funny to watch that bc tony always is trying to figure out some quip to say in response but he’s so right about everything he can’t even do that yk

anyway your first day is a success

i’m fat but i haven’t specifically written a fat!reader yet so this is how i imagine some avengers would react to a fat!reader sexually

the first time frank castle came to the diner down the street, he was in a bad spot.

open cut above his eyebrow, jaw bruised, knuckles raw. all he wanted was a cup of coffee, because he sure as hell couldn’t sleep. the bell on the door handle jingled when he swung it open, and soon after he was in a red vinyl booth, eyes down on the table. a couple people lingered at this hour – the loners who took comfort in a slice of pie and a section of the newspaper. a menu slid in front of him a minute later, and when he looked up, he swore he saw the sun.

well, not exactly. but here you stood at one forty-three in the morning, smiling and bright, and it was *genuine*. pencil behind your ear, order pad in your apron (you could memorize up to nine items, never ten) and one shoe untied, you were like some kind of angel sent from heaven.

frank started to frequent more after that. corner booth, facing the door. you had his coffee set up the second he walked in. he was always in various states of injury, and he always looked nearly dead on his feet. but he would give you a nod, a slight upturn of his mouth, and you would know he was okay. he asked you about yourself, and you told him your story in bits and pieces over time. you were young, living alone, trying to navigate the world in a new place far from home. the way you saw things was so candy-sweet it made him worried. frank found himself feeling protective, and he would always offer to walk you home after your shifts. you didn’t usually take him up on it. he made sure you got home anyway.

tonight was different. instead of just frank, a few others had lingered until your four am departure. a group table, big guys, nearly twice your size, and they’d been sneerin’ at you all shift. they hadn’t made their move yet, but frank could tell they were testing the waters, pushing it just a little too far. it was evident in the way your sentences were more clipped, your normally easy smile now just slightly too strained.

at four thirty (you had stayed late to help, of course) you pulled your jacket around yourself, heading out of the back and starting to leave, sending a wave to frank like you always did. but as the door shut behind you, you could hear it. chairs scraping the floor, footsteps moving out. just your luck, the road signal was set to stop right when you went to cross, and there were cars coming. a hand on your back, and you flinched. but when you looked up, you saw frank, eyes straight ahead and narrowed. his words were mumbled, voice steady.

“‘m coverin’ you. you’re okay. don’t look back.”

you opened your mouth to speak but he shook his head, just a slight movement back and forth that spoke volumes. he guided you forward, walking so fast he was practically pushing you. you tried your hardest not to trip on your own feet. that damn shoelace was coming untied again. no time to stop now. glancing up, the black eye you had seen forming in the flourescent light of the diner made a shadow on his face, created a storm in his line of sight as you weaved through the sidewalk. soon you were in front of your building. how the hell did he know your building? you were about to ask him when he practically shoved you through the door, hand on the scruff of your jacket, and as soon as the door shut behind you and you turned around to thank him he was gone.

for weeks, he was gone. you found yourself wondering when you would see him again, missing the conversation, filling up his coffee cup every night and putting it under the heatlamp so it wouldn’t go cold.

that is, until one day. you were color coding splenda packets into their respective dishes when the door jingled. he looked worse than you’d ever seen him, but you couldn’t help yourself from bounding right up, wrapping your arms around him. he reciprocated, a quick exhale mimicking a laugh. in his booth, he put up a hand after you took his order, gesturing for you to wait. out of his pocket came a keychain with pepper spray, a taser, and a button. when you pressed it, you could hear his phone go off.

“jus’ in case you need my help.”

we all know this man would speed

and not just speed, he would SPEED yknow

he encourages you to do the same

tony definitely has some type of road rage

he rly doesn’t drive that much so he’s really giving advice that’s based on nothing 🤦‍♀️ 

lowk heckles the people on the sidewalk for no reason

like pointing out a guy’s goofy hat or how big someone’s piece of pizza is at a stop light

but then everytime you go to look for two seconds at what he’s talking about he’ll say you’re a distracted driver and tell jarvis to take over and then lecture you for so long

in a parking lot he’s going on and on and on and on

you texted happy to call him just so he’ll stop

and he did ofc #happythegoat

bucky barnes

he is so the type of person to read the newspaper while you drive

he like barely pays attention

but guess what

he only LOOKS like he’s not paying attention

bc the second you go to change lanes he’ll go “there’s someone in your blind spot”

literally no way he could have possibly known that but he does

lowkey he would be one of the best to learn with bc he doesn’t make any dramatic noises or gasps or anything he just sees it as it is

only thing that gets you is that he loves to complain about how much harder the driving test back when him & steve took it

how the cars “didn’t have air conditioning” and “you cranked the window open” etc. etc. etc.

when you ask where you’re going he hands you a map.

scott lang

he meets you at the car in a full bubble wrap suit with a helmet on.

already buckled into the passenger’s seat.

he bought one of those mini steering wheels like the toy ones so he can drive along with you.

literally will not let you have the aux because he said he made “the best playlist” 

it’s just “movin’ right along” from the muppet movie over and over with the occasional “walkin’ on sunshine”

makes you drive to the mcdonald’s drive thru to get him an ice cream cone

his toxic trait is that he won’t let you pump gas he has to do it & while it’s going he’ll make faces at you through the window

thor

thor has no clue how to drive

he never really had to learn since he has other ways of getting places

but everybody else was busy and so you had to have him sit with you while you drove around

he narrates everything on the road

if there is a stop sign he’ll go “there is a stop sign ahead”.

“the light is turning green. ah no. now it is yellow. you should stop. soon it will turn red. now it’s red.”

no radio but he will hum for entertainment.

frank castle

only lets you drive his van

but before you can drive it he threatens you multiple times.

like by the end of it you don’t even wanna go out on the road

but you’re gonna do it, damn it, otherwise what the hell did he drive all the way out here for

lowkey he wouldn’t let just anyone drive it tho so this is an honor tbh

he rigged up one of those hand brake things driver’s ed ppl have

bc again he will not be damaging his van

i feel like he’d have a ritual when he drives that he’d pass onto you

a specific radio station on volume number seven 

he’s got like fifteen half filled packs of gum in the glove compartment 

like some kind of lucky charm

puts on “eye of the tiger” every time you merge onto the highway

peter parker

ok to be fair peter only got his license like a month before you

but he was the only one ready to go when you needed to practice

he’s a super careful driver like his hands are at ten & two at all times

he fiddles with the radio like crazy

his car is old af & you gotta put the key in a special way to get it to start

“ yeah i’m gonna see if mr stark can fix it.”

( no he is not )

he’s got at least three of those pine tree fragrance things & it smells STRONG in there 

also no air conditioning

there is a rubix cube in his cupholder
