Are Dodgers games the go-to for all his ladies?
The best Dodgers game was the circa-2017 game. ā¬ļø
Now the game is old and tired. Like the game player.

Social media isnāt real life.
I finished the excellent novel, āYesteryear,ā a couple of days ago. Social media figures in the storyline as does an unreliable narrator. The book cover very effectively represents how social media distorts what we see and many times what we are to believe. I recommend it, but itās an intense read ā be on the lookout for its content warnings.
Social media isnāt real life. You donāt need to be a C-list celebrity to understand that.
Be well and read a good book, friends.š
What would it be like if people on here actually ignored all of the ridiculousness? Like, really ignored it. Stopped posting about it, commenting on it. Just discussed other stuff like the fact OL season 1 should have left in the part of the book with Marcus MacRannoch and Eldridge Manor instead all the grossness that was Wentworth.
I know youāre frustrated. I get it. I get frustrated too, until I remember how stupid it all was 12 years ago when it was fresh ridiculousness. Not these dodgy leftovers.
Donāt give the troll blog the satisfaction of discussing anything remotely having to do with their fan fiction. Itās soooo 2014.
Be well, friends.
People, youāre going to find everything youāre looking for precisely because youāre looking for it. This happens every friggin Xmas. Just replace this yearās cheesy jewelry with a flaming Amsterdamian dumpster.
Sam is neither the best person nor the worst person in the world. And a troll blog is once again crafting a Sam narrative for its readers to eagerly consume while hopefully forgetting the content is about as questionable as yogurt past its āUse byā date.
For 11 years itās been said a hundred different ways, but itās still worth repeating: Sam keeps his private life private. Everything he lets fans see or that fans scrape off social media like a barnacle off a boat is as genuine and everlasting as a temporary tattoo.
Be well and take time for yourselves this holiday season, friends.
Iāll admit that I have close to no idea what is going on. I check tumblr about once a day. I follow a few shipper accounts and when I saw the latest I thought, āThis sh*t again.ā Yawn.
My two cents, FWIW:
Donāt be a courier pigeon for whatever message Sam is trying to send.
Ignore all of it like Sam ignores the fact that for past 11 years heās needed a new stylist.
Even if we are right and I believe we are, it doesnāt matter. Itās not like Sam says, āCurses! They figured it out! Guess I need a new strategy.ā He doesnāt care. Itās a zero sum game for him. When you loseāand that is defined as anything but completely ignoring the theatrics ā he wins.
Itās all performative. Itās tedium. Like being caught in a traffic jam with nothing to do except stare at the rear bumper of the car ahead of you.
I hope the next time I check in, I see lots of nostalgic gifs, photos, and social media screen shots from the times when good things happened in the fandom. There is enough of that content to glide from here right through season 8 promo with ease.
Be well, friends.

I canāt even think of something clever or witty to say. I used up all my witticisms the first 47 times Sam kale aisled his way into another 12-dimensional chess game with his fanbase.
Why Sam prostrates himself before an entertainment industry that consistently gives him and his career the middle finger, is beyond me.
Yet another social media app!š± If youāre interested in following me on threads, Iām
https://www.threads.net/@chattycate
FOMO got me onto threads, but Iāll still continue to post on my other social media accounts.
I will post mostly about books, history (fashion/textile and other), artifact and object preservation/conservation, art, tv shows and movies, and of course the occasional hot take on all things OL and its fandom.š
I will be blocking any p*rny accounts, so bots be forewarned!š
Some advice from someone who has been through all the ups and downs of OL promo and other āseasonsā āI was here during the literal NYE Amsterdam dumpster fire āand no, if you didnāt witness photos of that consider yourself lucky and letās leave it at that.
Ignore all of it. Donāt go looking for explanations, donāt waste energy refuting things. It doesnāt change anything; the trolls donāt careātheyāre only interested in staying relevant in a fandom that isnāt new anymore.
Just fangirl the things that bring you joy. Compared to other OL promo times this one has been a breath of fresh air. Enjoy that. Donāt step on that by paying attention to anons or bloggers who are a sideshow showcasing other sideshows āreal or imagined. Why watch the sideshows when you can be under the big tent fangirling with your friends.ĀÆ\_(ć)_/ĀÆ
Stay cool this summer in more ways than one.š
Iāve seen a lot of chatter about Samās new movie, āLove Again.ā Full disclosure: if I watch it, it will probably be on streaming. For me the theater experience isnāt what it used to be and after Covid it just wasnāt something I wanted to do.
That said, Iāve seen the name Nora Ephron invokedāonce by Samāin terms of the film genre of romantic comedy. It canāt be said enough, but Nora Ephron was a genius ā whether that was her books or screenplays. But she was in a class all by herself when it came to romantic comedies, particularly āSleepless in Seattle,ā and the iconic āWhen Harry Met Sally.ā
Itās not to say there werenāt some just okay onesāI think āYouāve Got Mailā tried too hard. But WHMS and SIS are romantic comedy gold. They make you laugh, they make you swoon, and most importantly they make you believe in the happy ending.
Romantic comediesāgood onesārequire two things: great chemistry between the leads and ever greater writing. You have to laugh not just because itās funny, but because at the same time, you say āYes, that makes total sense.ā Nora Ephronās romantic comedies were also observations on life āwhether it was the terror of those first few dates after a significant breakup or how everyone cries when they watch Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr in āAn Affair to Remember.ā
One of the most iconic lines in SIS is when Annieās (played by Meg Ryan) work friend Becky (played by Rosie OāDonnell) says to Annie, āYou donāt want to fall in love. You want to fall in love in a movie.ā The audience instantly knows what Becky means by that. That is romantic comedy writing at its best.
If youāre in the mood to revisit some of the best romantic comedies, here are five possibilities. The late 1980s and early 90s really were the second golden age of romantic comedies (after the 1930s and 40s) They all are a bit different, but they are all memorable and most importantly, funny:
When Harry Met Sally (1989)
Sleepless in Seattle (1993)
Moonstruck (1987)
Broadcast News (1987)
Singles (1995)
I havenāt posted on here yet, so this may not seem that exciting. But I did say Iād post about books Iāve read. And even though I havenāt finished the latest book yet, I have to give a huge thumbs up to the Fairmile series by Philippa Gregory. If you want an epic read, like Outlander-level epic, these are the books. They are the kinds of stories where you donāt want the book to end. The audiobooks are fantastic and make the story and its characters even more vivid. The first is Tidelands, followed by Dark Tides, and then the current one Iām reading, Dawnlands. So very very good!š

Wow! What a warm welcome from you all! Thank you so much! Like I said, Iāll just sort hang back for awhile, but you can expect subject matter I post about to be books Iām reading or have read, fashion/textile history, vintage wallpaper, posters, etc., and occasionally a fandom take or two.š¬
So a word about that: Iāve been in or around the OL fandom since October 2014. Iāve been here for most of the good and Iāve witnessed a lot of the bad. I know some of you have beliefs that do not match mine in terms of particular data points shall we say. Iām not here to debate any of that. I will not have the ask feature on because unlike the brave souls who do, that is not my jam. I hope we can all be in community and enjoy the good fangirling daysāeven though theyāre less frequent than they used to be.
So thank you again for your kind welcome! Hereās my fave SC photo - I had to scroll waaaaay back in my camera roll for this one.š I like it because it came at the end of a bad run of fandom days and to me it represented focusing on what brought us to the fandom, not the stuff that was a distraction. Cheers!
Hello!! Iāve been reluctant to post on my tumblr as I use it to mostly look at vintage wallpaper. But since Twitter is going down a path I may eventually find I canāt follow, I would still like to connect with my followers from the bird site. On TW I am known as chatty_cath and I know that some of my tweets have made it here.šBut my name really is Cath and for now Iāll just stay š¤ on here to see how it all goes. If youād like to follow me here, I canāt promise exciting content, but maybe the occasional opinion.š
