C is for Christmas

I was so excited when I saw!! Thank you so much to anyone who follows this blog! Thanks for sharing your love of The Middle!!!

Halloween episode!!! These are traditionally some of my fav episodes so I have high expectations! …although am I mistaken or have they called this Halloween VIII? …when it should be 7??? Aaaaand the fridge doesn’t make that spooky noise when they open it anymore. Campaign to bring that back! …for some reason I love that XD

Either way - thoughts on the episode! I’m gonna call this a standard Middle episode. Plot wise. The kids say something to upset Frankie and she obsesses over it. In this case in the hypothetical divorce the kids want to live with Mike. Poor poor Frankie. This is like I said a very typical storyline - nothing new but it did make an enjoyable watch. 

We had a difference here that April is hanging around.Who dare I say it is growing on me. I have a long standing tradition of not liking any of Axl’s girlfriends. But she showed at the end how sweet she was. It was something beyond the ‘dumb’ persona we’ve been shown. We’ll see if April breaks my pattern.

Sue and Brick got into a fight over Sue’s room in which Sue wanted it back which led to a cute chase around the house and Brick breaking a hole in the wall. Again. I love little throwbacks like that - it’s like there will forever be a hole in that wall. Coincidentally - for any UK viewers you may have noticed Comedy Central has been playing the Middle from the start and one of today’s episode was when they first made me hole in Season 2. That made me smile!

Of course the highlight of the episode was the very end when they gave Brick a chair. It made me so emotional I was tearing up! 

Like I mentioned above Comedy Central has been showing episodes from the start and I’ve been watching it everyday and at the end of the episode I always fee so happy inside at how heartwarming this show is and watching those early ones and now this one it occurs to me I get the same happy feeling still after 8 years. Which I think is pretty special.

Another week another episode! And I loooooooooooved this one!!!

So Sue didn’t renew her financial aid and is kicked out of college. Come 5 mins to the end I was worried this was gonna be permanent! Would have made an interesting twist I guess… But the whole plot line was told beautifully. From the start Sue being told she wasn’t on any of the class lists which she has become so accustomed to it just role off her now to the panic of realising the worst has happened! I loved the whole scene round the table where they’re all yelling at each other. To Mike being super nice to the bursar to see if he can sort this out. It is so wonderful to see how much he loves Sue. He was frustrated and just wanted to make it better and it was heartbreaking!
