"If you insist." Cairo enjoyed his time with Ilya just as much granted he understood things between them were uncomplicated because he was omitting things. A lot of things and now the amount of omissions was getting larger and larger. He was doing the one thing he wasn't supposed to do, get attached. Raphael he wasn't worried about. He wasn't the unhinged one. Lucien obviously was a problem, Noel he wasn't sure about ever, and it was hard to tell if that was it. Did he have other siblings out there like him and would they be normal or would they also want to kill him. That alone was enough to think on he didn't have the time to fathom how Ilya would take any of the truth of his life so was fine keeping that from him. It was for the best he just never knew the truth. It was obvious he didn't care for either of his parents and he couldn't imagine spending a holiday with Ilya as his date with Raph and Lucien.
"You know, I've never asked this. I know there's been guys before me, but was there anyone you loved?" Cairo asked propping his head up.
He could stare at his face for as long as his eternity went for. Something he wasn't ashamed to admit to himself, being within his company always had the vampire feeling content, even happy. Rather unusual for someone like him, who kept others at a distance in a way. Finding little boxes they fit into to solve whatever needs arose, they had their place and rarely have they ever left it. Not with Cairo, there wasn't a box he could simply put him in-- nor did he want to. He wasn't the first to not fit, to have his attention in such a way that there wasn't a box for him. Someone he hadn't thought about in a long while had been the same, a long time ago in an era much different than this one.
The question broke his through his thoughts, breaking his staring as he blinked. "Yes." He answered after some moments, his gaze shifting to the ceiling. "It was a long time ago." The question brought back old memories, ones he had made himself forget.
