I think it's a spin on Dracula playing with consent throughout Jonathan's visit, from his 'come in of your own free will' welcome, to his opening the door to choose to stay or be eaten by wolves. Or how he has Mina be conscious to drink his blood, but he says she either just keeps quiet and takes it or she calls for help and he kills Jonathan.

I really appreciated that they gave Count Orlock a full boyar look for Nosferatu. Too many vampires looking like 18th century London dandys, too few look like they are scourging the villages of the Carpathian Mountains.
