Shawn during the birth and delivery of his babyyy! I imagine him wanting to look over and you being like “Shawn don’t you dare look down there”😂😂😂
About: Wife is always right
A/N: I’m sorry this request was everything
“I fucking hate you!” you screamed out, crushing Shawn’s hand under your grip.
“I know, honey. I know,” he whispered in awe of how strong your grip was. He’s seen you mad before, but no human being could ever inflict the amount of pain you were feeling right now. He was so proud, yet scared of you at the same time. “Honey, what about the ice chips?” he asked moving over to the bedside table to grab the plastic cup full of ice.
“Shawn, I don’t want fucking ice right now! I’m pushing a baby out of my fucking vagina ICE IS NOT GOING TO HELP!” you screamed out at him. He would’ve winced if the birthing classes you took for weeks didn’t warn him. While you were screaming at him, he slipped a spoon full fo the ice chips into your mouth. For just a moment, your screams were absent from the room. Then you started again. “Why are you just standing there, give me more ice.” He laughed, flat out laughed at how you were screaming at him for even suggesting ice one second then demanding more the next. Wrong move. “SHAWN!” you barked.
“Yes dear, whatever you say, dear,” he muttered to himself before spooning you more and more mouthfuls of ice.
“If I make it out of this, so help me God, I’m going to kill you,” you told him in between spoons.
“Hey, you are going to make it out of this,” he told you sternly, “unlucky for me because I feel like you’re going to kick me in the balls, but you will get through this.” Instead of hearing screams, Shawn heard and felt the sobs wracking through your body.
“Shawn.” You cried for the first time since going into labor. You were stressed. You were screaming. You were panicked, but this was the first time you let yourself feel all the emotions of a life-changing moment.
“Hey, hey now, (Y/N). You can do this, okay? You are the strongest woman I know.” He looked you in the eyes and smiled with tears prinking his own eyes. “That’s why I married you you know? Because you were always my strength when I needed it, and I’m going to be here for you now that you need it. If anyone can do it, (Y/N), it’s you. Our kiddo needs you to be strong for him, just like you’ve been for me all these years. You have gotten so far, and this is the last push, love. Almost at the finish line, and our beautiful baby boy is waiting for us on the other side, so just hold on for me a little longer, baby. Okay, baby?” You were nodding with tears streaming down your face.
“Okay. Okay, I can do it.” His smile took over his face. He bent down to kiss the top of your head, the sweat matting your hair to your forehead.
“That’s my girl.” The midwife and Shawn shared a look and he turned back to you. “Baby, it’s time to push ok? We’re going to have to get through this little bit and we get to see our son, but you gotta push baby.” You grabbed the nearly empty cup of ice and fed it to yourself.
“I’m ready.” He kissed your temple again, your hand back in his.
“Course you are--” If he had another thought, it was drowned out by your screaming,
“AHH GOD.” You were focused on the pain, but everyone else was focusing on ending it as soon as possible.
“Doing so so well, love. Keep pushing,” Shawn’s attention bounced back and forth between you and the medical team.
“Couple hard pushes for me, (Y/N). We’re visualizing the head,” the nurse said, Shawn’s eyes lit up.
“You can see the head?” Shawn moved away from you to see before being yanked back. Clearly, you were done crying and the anger was back.
“Shawn don’t you dare look down there!”
“To you, my vagina is tight, pretty, and perfect so you are NOT fucking looking. Understand, Mendes?”
“Yes, dear.” He admitted defeat and turned his attention to the head of the bed, focusing on helping you bring your newest addition into the world.
