This time around, he doesn’t bother trying to snake his way out of the cuffs since he SUPPOSES he should cut the cop some slack for once.
It’s then the question that catches him off guard, hands clenching into fists and gaze diverting. He’s suddenly more aware— aware about the fact that Liam has caught onto him despite the jolly mask he puts on.
It’s been a rough few weeks, he has to admit. Getting arrested all those times means his reputation takes a HIT, but it doesn’t mean he stops. He keeps going, dealing what he can, making what money he can make. by the time killian is finished with his excuses, liam is already pulling up at a mcdonalds drive-through. he doesn’t bother calling the other out for the SECOND time in a row; for the time being, he just wants killian to have a proper meal even if it consists of a RIDICULOUSLY large amount of junk food.
with the food on the passenger’s seat, he parks the car at the first available spot and gets out with the bags, locking killian’s door from the outside before slipping into the backseat with him. the cuffs are removed, a knowing look given to make sure the other wouldn’t try anything stupid.
“ start eating—and don’t give me any BULLSHIT. you know you haven’t eaten properly in days ”
he indulges in stealing a pack of french fries and smiles. maybe this time he would actually manage to get through to him. . .
