her reaction was immediate, making him laugh a bit. â yeah, iâm⌠not the best at lying, â he replied, going back to his usual, honest self. miles was better suited for the superhero life, anyways. â i probably couldnât even nab a cookie from the cookie jar without getting caught. â it was a callback to the age-old game everyone played as a child. as she approached, miles turned back to the mural, admiring what he had done so far. for the most part it was done, but something still felt off. missing. his personal prints were all over it, but it still didnât feel his. or maybe that was just his restlessness making him feel that way. â i did. â it was better to go the honest route anyways. made him feel better. â iâve been at it for a couple hours. youâre actually the first to stop and come over. â he smiled over at her. â so, thanks for that, i guess ? â he laughed. â but⌠i donât know. it doesnât feel finished. but i donât know what else to do with it. â he wondered if the familiar stranger had any insight to what could be done about his little internal dilemma.
âwow thatâs -- really lame,â she teased lightheartedly. which was strange because usually she would berate someone for being so incompetent that they couldnât even steal a cookie. âwell i assume people tend to avoid dark alleys that youths hang around in. either that or they just didnât notice.â catra took a few steps backwards, to really get the whole piece in her view. âhmmm...â she mused for a second, tail twitching as she thought. âyou added all your personal touches to it?â

â   want to see something cool ?   â      he isnât waiting for a yes or a no at all .  after buying a new pack of marbles from the store he wasnât about to waste any time showing off his favorite trick so the first passerby was getting the show whether they liked it or not .       â   check THIS out !   â       palms go to the side , facing each other up  & down as he sent an air current between them making the marbles spin rapidly .  he grins , then looks at his company with expectant excitement .

catra was about to snap at the other for stopping her before eyes widened at the trick. âhow are you doing that?â she asked, eyes narrowed slightly. she moved her arm and passed a finger between the space of the marbles and his hand to check for strings.Â

clara smiled as she walked up to the open bar, sitting herself down on a stool. things had been odd to say the very least and she was just grateful for the chance to live again, her fears of facing her own timeline now vanished with every beat of her heart.  â the twenties, huh ? interesting times. â of course, she couldnât say that sheâd been.
âyeah, so everyone keeps saying,â catra retorted. growing up in the horde meant they had no festivities or celebrations. well -- they celebrated when they had conquered and defeated a certain area but it wasnât how most people would consider a celebration to be. so this whole new years gala seemed pointless and strange to her. âso whatâs supposedly so great about them?â

âi thought i knew where i was going, but âŚâ a breathy laugh passes calâs lips & his shoulders shrug in a sign of defeat. âiâm completely lost, could you point me towards the nearest gardening store ?â despite thinking himself a fair enough navigator, he was absolutely proving himself wrong today. it was times like this that he missed bd-1â˛s holomap ; he wouldâve had this town memorized like the back of his hand by now. âi almost forgot that being the new guy fragging sucks.â
âdo i look like a fucking map?â catra said, arms folded in hostility. it was astonishing to her how many people actually stopped and asked her for directions. did she know where a gardening store was? of course, she had explored the whole time at this point. but she wasnât going to tell him. âi was the new guy once too but i didnât randomly interrupt people in the street.â

âyou know, these are pretty good,â catra commented, standing at the dessert buffet. back at the horde the only thing they ate was mush in the form of rations. the food was definitely one of the perks of woodshore. âthese little cheesecakes are my favourite.â

catra scoffed. âhas the though occurred to you that maybe iâm just good at this game? why assume i cheated?â this time, she actually hadnât cheated at blackjack. but apparently winning so many times in a row was suspicious.

they didnât have parties like this at the horde. or any kind of celebration -- not even birthdays. so this was a first to catra. âthis happens every year? why? seems kind of pointless to me.â

no, technically she wasnât old enough to drink in this world -- even though she wasnât that far off. but a nifty bit of sleight of hand gave catra all the champagne flutes she wanted. âthank you,â she said sarcastically, swiping a drink from the tray that passed her by and took a sip. âthis stuff was awful at first, but it definitely gets better after youâve drank three.â

honoredgrayskullâ:
those words were enough to send that ache through her. she had never wanted to leave catra. no, that had never been the goal when all of this had initially began. adora had desperately clung onto hope that maybe, just maybe, the other would see just how horrid and cruel the horde was and join the princess alliance as she had. it had quickly become apparent that that was never going to happen no matter how much adora wanted it. and no matter how much she had yearned to stay in that false reality, blissfully unaware of all the horrors, she had a duty to uphold. âcatra â i never wanted to leave you. but i couldnât stand by while the horde destroyed peopleâs lives. and that world?? it wasnât real. it was never going to be real. you never had to stay. you could have left with me. i wanted you to.â
catra couldnât help but let out a short and cold laugh. âi couldnât have left with you,â she retorted. catra? in the princess alliance? no. it just wouldnât work. she wasnât like adora. there was no good in her. even scorpia had come to see that. âthe horde is where i belong, adora. you think iâm good? you think iâd fit in with princesses? no. even if i wanted to leave with you --â and she did. âi wouldnât have stayed.â she stood taller as she began to rant, ever so slightly. âbut you -- oh so high and mighty adora -- you thrive there. you love being the saviour. the hero. you enjoy being better than me. you always have.â none of the words were true, catra knew that. but all catra did lately was sabotage things for herself. why would this world be any different? âalways shadow weaverâs favourite and deep down you loved that. i know you did.â that last sentence, bringing up shadow weaver, it was sure to sting.

He shook his head as soon as he put the Christmas headband on his head. Christmas was his favorite holiday, and there was no way in heck that he was going to get them off his head. âNo, I shanât,â Logan said with a quick shake of his head. âItâs Christmas.â
âyou look ridiculous,â catra said, flicking the christmas tree that was attached to the headband. âalso, iâm pretty sure theyâre made for children.â

this was already a thousand times better than the halloween festival. she loved winter even if the weather left her feeling chilled to the bone. âdo you want to go snow tubing with me?â a friendly smile warmed the curve of nellâs lips as she beamed at the other.
âsnow what?â catra asked, sceptically. she didnât understand the holiday. they never celebrated anything in the horde. her fake memories gave her a general impression of what it was called and what time of year it was celebrated, but apart from that, the whole thing was strange to her.
tomywildheartsâ:
thereâs a boy, in a hood, with a variety of used and unused spraycans littered around his feet. his dark fingers are spattered in bright, neon runoff, standing out against the twilight and the gray of his hood. in front of him, a painting so bright, so flashy, so very him that itâs hard to ignore, even if itâs on the side of a building that makes up an alleyway. miles had been at it for a few hours now, almost finished with his piece just for woodshore. he hadnât been spider-man - hadnât needed to be - for what felt like a lifetime now, so he had to find other ways to occupy himself. the lessons he had started taking at the local rec center were nice, but they werenât anything like what he was doing now.
on the wall was an ocean, a landscape, and a sky, but amped up to eleven. sharp lines, bold colors, part street art, part mural. not his magnum opus, that belonged to his great expectations piece back in his new york, but it was a personal, well-loved piece nonetheless. just as he stepped back to admire his work, can in hand, he caught sight of movement from his peripheral. he had dropped his guard too much, it seemed. he didnât have a permit to be painting on random walls. he could get in a lot of trouble for it, have his art called tagging, get called a delinquent or worse, have it all painted over- there was no denying what he was doing. so, he did the next best thing. â uh - hey. â he turned to them, smiling his casual, warm smile. like he was meant to be there. â iâm⌠banksy. â if he could end up here, if several superheroes he knew but werenât from his universe could end up here, banksy being in woodshore made total sense. â but donât tell anyone, okay ? â he still had on a humorous tone, trying to divert the attention away from the fact that what he was doing was technically against the law.
catra was roaming the streets, in the dark, as usual. she had decided that staying in her room and stewing in her own, sad thoughts wasnât the best thing. so now, she stewed in her thoughts but while walking. most nights nothing interesting happened, but sometimes she noticed things.
like now, she had walked past an alley and out of the corner of her eye caught someone spray painting the wall. cautiously and silently, she approached, waiting to see how long she could go unnoticed. when he turned to her, catraâs eyebrows raised slightly. he was familiar, they had met before, but she didnât know his name.Â
âyou know,â catra said, moving closer and looking up at his work. âif youâre going to lie, best not do it to someone whoâs a master.â she looked over her shoulder and smirked slightly before looking back at the wall. âyou did all this?â
findinghcmeâ:
âto some i am, yes,â loki admitted, knowing now that it was an older religion of midgard. of course, he still saw himself, all of asgard, all as gods, but the meaning changed now. gods died. odin had been wrong there. loki tilted his head curiously, many were from off this world, but it didnât make him any less interested in the details of her own. âasgard,â was the simple answer and he knew it hardly covered it. but if asked further, heâd hardly be able to do jotunheim the justice of the fondness. âitâs been long since destroyed in ragnarok. something i had a significant hand in, only not with malicious intentions.â he shook his head, trying to make the memory keep from stinging. âwhat about yourself?â
âso youâve got powers, huh?â catra questioned curiously. if he was from a different world then they would be something she had never seen before. not elemental like all the princesses, who got their power from the elemental stones. he had to have powers, to be considered a god. âiâm... sorry,â she said, after hearing his world was destroyed. the last thing she remembered was stopping horde prime from destroying her own world. though, she didnât know if she succeeded or not. âa world called etheria. it was stuck in another dimension for years. we didnât even know other worlds existed.â

catraâs fake life hadnât exactly been the best (what was up with that? this place promised the thing they wanted most but couldnât give her a happy life?), but was certainly an improvement on her real one. until she had met loki here, she had believed it was all fabricated. but it seemed like people from that life were just as real as she was. because stood just a few feet from her, was gwen. it wasnât entirely impossible that the memories of another life were just another reality. catra knew first hand they existed.Â
swiftly walking over, catra placed a hand on gwenâs shoulder, a confused expression on her face. âgwen? youâre here?â
