Okay, Nina having the armoured uniform she wears in later game can be justified with continuity issues, like "why would it suddenly look different?".

But Julia looking like her Tekken 7 self seems strange. I assumed she was going to change her outfit and look like she did back in Tekken 3, but this is how she looks in the entire series.

Of course, there are three explanation to this:

Should Michelle Chang make an appearance, having mother and daughter dressed in pretty much the same costume can make it confusing if they are in the same scene;

This can be an anticipation of Julia having multiple "versions", and in fact I wonder how they'll handle her wrestler self, Jaycee, assuming they'll use it;

Tekken 3 came out more than 20 years ago, while Tekken 7 is the (relatively) current game. They probably wanted newer fans to feel a little connected to the game;

It's because "stop Asian hate" is empty. It doesn't go after the root cause, which is the state and its institutions.

"Hate" implies interpersonal feelings and individuals, so the message is, "Oh! Just don't be a crazy person and hate crime Asians" and the work is done. When Asian racism isn't just hate, it's a deliberate narrative crafted to justify imperialism and war.

The U.S. killed millions of Asians overseas. The only way you can maintain public support for that is by dehumanizing Asians at home.
