Mm, yeah, I know him. Not well, but he seems like a decent sort. That’s great! [ Wilda rolls her eyes ] Of course they do. You can even have fun when he’s around, depending on the girl. [ she smirks ] Absolutely. Two drinks, coming right up.

He is, he’s really great. Very tall, that’s my biggest complaint. [ she laughs ] If I didn’t know any better, I’d say you’re flirting with me. [ she grins ] I need these. My usual drinking buddy besides you has been away on business, so I haven’t been drinking nearly as much. It’s a problem, I only  have like three hobbies and one of them is drinking. 

Try saying that again, but like you mean it this time. It wasn’t even vaguely convincing. 

she feigned a cough, as if resetting herself for another line reading. “I will not jinx off the pants of my arresting auror again.”

[ Wilda grins sharply ] You brought a boyfriend? Obviously I have to meet him now, do I know him? We need to get drinks more often, if you’ve managed to snag a boy long enough to call him a boyfriend without me knowing. [ She winces and waves a hand vaguely ] Although, that’s probably my fault, training and all that jazz.

Probably do-- Augustus Rookwood. We’ve been dating for almost a year, I just don’t talk about  him much. And girls stop inviting me out for drinks when they find out I’ve got a boyfriend, it’s stupid. Like I can’t have fun when he’s around. [ she nods ] Well then first round is on you. Only fair. 

“I’m thinking about moving to a bigger house.”

“Oh? Were you at least going to send me a change of address card?”

“I’m thinking about moving to a bigger house.”

“Oh? Moving can be so difficult and stressful. What brought this on?”

That is very true. [ she smirks ] I mean, those are just suggestions. We could switch off, I could be your wingman or arm candy. Or we could ditch the party scene altogether, go get into some mischief somewhere else.

I’m afraid I don’t need a wingman tonight. My boyfriend’s actually here, he came with me. I won’t say no to some mischief, though. What did you  have in mind?
