Ignoct Week Timed Quest day 2: “joyride”
Rating: T (suggestive, established relationship) Warnings: none @ignoctweek
The Star of Lucis was not a spacious vehicle.
Noct himself fit quite comfortably in its driver’s seat, tailored for his body as the clothes he wore. Ignis had enough room for his legs, and above his head, though he’d reclined his own seat from the beginning, when he’d agreed to accompany Noct on this illicit drive in the car not yet his; at least he had been amenable to keeping their route to the safety of the city, if they must drive at night. Even at this hour, countless will have recognized the Crown Prince’s own car on the streets, but with Ignis informing the Crownsguard he’d be present himself, none need worry or for word to reach His Majesty.
Noct needn’t know any of that, of course. To him it was simply a joyride, taking them only slightly too fast through city streets to the most scenic and secluded overlook within the confines of the Wall. It was hardly comparable to opening up the engine on the highway, which Ignis suspected Noct truly wanted and he regretted he couldn’t allow, but he seemed more than satisfied to park there -- even engaging the parking brake while Ignis looked on proud -- and contort himself over the center console to steal a kiss.
Ignis could support Noct by his arms, but the position was awkward at best, and he allowed Noct -- allowed himself -- only a few light kisses before settling back. “Perhaps you should have taken a different car, if this is what you had in mind,” Ignis suggested, more amused than anything.
“But this one’s mine.”
“And I’d be happy to christen it, but I don’t believe you’ll even fit in my lap.” He held up a hand before Noct could try and with an easily misplaced hip or knee accidentally turn the wheel or press the horn, or gods forbid the ignition.
“Do you want to just go back? You can come up to my apartment.” But Noct looked so put out saying it, that Ignis could only imagine the thought that went into his plan: likely scheming with Prompto for days on the best way to take his car with its carefully tinted windows under cover of night, Prompto’s artist’s eye choosing the parking area with the best view of Insomnia, and then notably inviting Ignis along for the experience.
“An enticing offer, but if I may try…” Noct looked hopeful at the playful tone, and turning his shoulders Ignis could more easily lay a hand on Noct’s face to guide him into another kiss, quickly turning deep, with Noct squirming in his seat. “Stay where you are,” Ignis requested, and hummed in contentment as Noct obeyed, grateful to his own training in flexibility as he laid his lips down an easy line over Noct’s body.
“If you’d adjust your seat? I’m afraid the steering wheel is in my way,” he said when he could go no further toward Noct’s lap, as casually as he might point out the button he’d found loose on Noct’s jacket. It took a moment before Noct managed to connect those particular dots, but he scrambled to the controls, and Ignis smiled, eager to please.
