Found a mosquito on my arm but couldn’t really smash it. It shows some diginity of risking its life to do something. Have I done anything while risking my life?

Just done with packing and leave here soon. Looking outside through the wide-open window and listening to rhythm of rain drops and birds humming, enjoy the last moment before getting into the rush of being on the road. It’s alway time and energy consuming to leave a comfort zone, but it’s also nice to put a comma(or a period sometimes) at the end of the sentence of life, which I started writing since the last time I came back to the comfort zone. I know I cannot edit the sentence, but at least I can refer to it when I write a new sentence of life… It’s almost time to get going. Bye bye trees! Well, it was last night. I tried to sleep on the bed but I couldn't. So I took my keys and cellphone, and went out for a walk. After I enjoyed a calm and peaceful time outside, I was ready for bed. I headed back to my flat… But I realized it when I took the keys out of my pocket to open the front door…  I TOOK THE WRONG KEYS!  So I had to sleep on the street all night like the homeless…. but fortunately, it turned out to be a happy ending. A friend of mine stayed over in my flat the other day and I found out he had another pair of the keys. I phoned him, went over to his place, got that keys, came back home and finally had sweet dreams on my bed. Couldn't imagine what would happen if I didn't take my cellphone with me or he didn't have the keys. I would have been found frozen to death somewhere on the street this morning...

It might sound quite sad because there is nothing we can do about the future, but on the other hand, it eases my worried mind because it can also mean 'There is nothing to worry about the future.'

북경과 내몽고에서 참여했던 일주일간의 환경교류활동을 어제 마쳤습니다. 비행기를 타고 공항에 도착했는데 예전에 집에 돌아갈때와는 느낌이 달랐습니다. 다른 단원들은 한국으로 돌아갔지만 저는 안내표지판에 한국말이 없는 것을 제외하고도 많은 것이 다른 고향이 아닌 또다른 고향 상해로 돌아왔기때문입니다. The environmental exchange program that I participated in over the last week was over yesterday. When I arrived back at the airport, I felt something different from when I got back home before. Other volunteers went back to Korea like I did before but this time, I came back to Shanghai where is very different from Korea including there is no Korean on a notice board in the airport, and where is not my hometown but my another hometown.

I found myself rushing my way in a subway station on my way to school even if I am not going to be late. I stepped back a little and stood still for a while watching people passing by. This moment gave me a question... 'What make us busy?' 학교에 늦지 않는데도 지하철 역을 정신없이 질주하는 저를 발견했습니다. 잠시 뒤로 물러서서 지나가는 사람들을 보다보니 떠오르는 질문이 있었습니다... '우리는 무엇때문에 바쁠까요?'

또 새벽 3시에 집에 들어 왔습니다. 밀린 숙제를 하는 느낌이 드는 건 왜일까요?..

중국어 학원을 마치고 작년 몇달 동안의 아침시간을 보낸 곳입니다. 사실 공부는 조금밖에 안했고 대부분 마시고 먹고 음악듣고 잠을 자며 시간을 보냈습니다. 직장을 그만둔 다음의 자유를 누리며. 올 2월 한국에 있을때 이곳을 다시 가보았습니다. 뭔지 고향에 온 느낌이더군요. - 광화문 스타벅스

The founder of today's China, Mao. There is his statue in Huadong University. I often forget where I am living as I spend a lot of times with foreign students since I've been studying here. Looking at the statue, he reminds me of I'm living in China now. 화동대학에 지금의 중국을 있게한 마오쩌둥의 동상이 있습니다. 이곳에서 공부를 시작한 후에 많은 외국학생들과 시간을 보내다보면 내가 지금 어디에 사는지 잊을 때가 많습니다. 그런 순간 동상을 바라보게 되면 '아 내가 중국에 살고 있구나'를 다시 깨닫게 됩니다.

It's the Qingmingjie holiday in China. My roomates have already left for work or holiday this morning, I've been left home alone. I've been busy going to school and working since I came back to Shanghai last month, so actually I wasn't too bad taking time for myself. I tied up my room, talked to friends on the phone, listen to music and danced a little bit to it. And the peak moment is treating myself with my favorite fruit. 중국은 청명절휴일 입니다. 방친구들은 아침부터 일이다 휴가다 벌써 다떠났고 저만 덩그러니 혼자 남겨졌습니다. 그러고 보면 지난달 상해에 돌아온 후에 학교다니고 일하느라 많이 바빠 이렇게 혼자 시간을 보내는 것도 나쁘지 않습니다. 물건 정리 하고, 오랜만에 친구들하고 통화도 하고, 음악 들으며 몸도 살짝 흔들어 보고.. 그리고 중국에서 가장 좋아하는 과일을 먹어봅니다.

在回家的路上今天看起来跟昨天一样。。其实完全不一样。집에돌아오는 길입에 오늘은 어제와 비슷해보이지만 사실 완전 다른 하루입니다. On the way back home, today looks the same as yesterday. Actually, it's completely different.

Just had lunch. I bought noddles but the grilled sweet potato and vinegared rice are from friends. Since I've been living abroad, my favorite peole are who give me food 점심을 막 마쳤습니다. 컵라면은 샀지만 군고구마와 초밥은 친구에게 받았습니다. 외국에 살아서 그럴까요? 제일 좋은 사람이 음식을 주는 사람입니다.

Since I left Shanghai about a month ago, I've been missing the life there. I have to eat this before I leave for Shanghai tomorrow because, once I arrive in Shanghai again, I will miss the life in Seoul. And this spicy and sweet ddogbokgi in my neighborhood, too.. 상해를 떠나온지도 거의 한달이 다 되어가는데 그곳이 많이 그립습니다. 낼 상해로 돌아가는데 돌아가기 전에 반드시 이 음식을 먹어야합니다. 상해에 도착하면 서울이 많이 그리울 테니까요. 맵고 달콤한 집근처 떡볶이도..

42번 탑승구에 도착했습니다. 곧있으면 탑승구에 들어가며 여행길에 다시 오릅니다. 이번에는 아시아도 미국도 아닌 제게 전환점이 되었던 유럽입니다. 스위스, 프랑스.. 비행기가 저를 어디로 데려다 줄지는 알고 있지만 그 사이의 시간이 어떻게 채워질지는 알지 못합니다. 탑승을 알리는 방송이 나오네요. 이제부터 그걸 확인해봐야겠습니다. Gate 42. A few minutes before entering the gate. Time to travel again. This time, not Asia not America, but Europe where the new chapter of my life started. Swiss, France.. I know where airplanes will take me but don't know how the times between flights will be filled. Well, the boarding call was just announced. Let's figure it out.
