This dog was a new victim of abandonment. The world he once knew was gone forever. As we were feeding free-roaming dogs we found Rocky on the side of the road one thing was sure, we were not leaving him behind. the injuries on his neck were recent and he needed medical attention. He was confused but grateful. We provided food and water. And started networking him because we had to provide a safe place for him to go.

We focus on individuals Rescuing Cats & Dogs in the Trenches with a budget of minimal budget to none.

I created the first non-profit organization (501(c)3 of its kind in response to my heart’s desire to help abandoned cats and dogs. I Film Heroes is an advocacy organization focused on capturing real-life heroes that rescue cats and dogs. These films can be compared to Anthony Bourdain in which the viewer gets to experience live action.

Abandoned dogs are often fed by members of the community as well as visitors. It's an act that at times goes unseen. So many homeless dogs look forward to feeding time and will at times become very friendly with those who make the effort. A lot of them are rescued, treated, and become adoptable. A lot of them don't make it.

The main purpose of this film is to raise awareness of the continuous act of “dog dumping” that occurs everyday in the Redlands. An area in South Florida that some have designated as a dumping grounds for unwanted dogs.

What Happen To Jim?

Cody waited for a return that would never come.

It would take nearly two days before anyone knew what became of Jim. It would take another several hours before a caring professional answered calls to bring Cody to safe haven.

This is the story of Jim and Cody.

Unfortunately, it is not uncommon. The story of one man's homelessness experience, his life with his beloved dog since birth, his downfall into a society that thrives on individualism and capitalistic ideals, a society that devalues what maturity and hard work have to offer.

It’s also a story of devotion between a man and his dog that he refused to give up on, one that he held onto until his last dying breath.

This is the story of Jim and Cody, the American dream displaced. The more we look away, the more it shatters.

(Film Purpose) The main purpose for this film is to raise awareness on the continuous act of “dog dumping” that occurs everyday in the Redlands. An area in South Florida that some have designated as a dumping grounds for unwanted dogs. What makes this film especially unique is our subject whose perspective will be shared , Dan. The Redland area is home to Dan. He has dedicated his entire life to caring for abandoned dogs who wander the streets, especially at night to feed. He has witnessed countless homeless dogs in their weakest moments, some he has cared for and couldn’t take in or network have been found dead on the road. The pressure of wanting to help them all has left him depressed, all while managing his own health that has worsened over time. Focusing on 1 person's daily effort to make a difference in the life of as many dogs that he can physically care for, will demonstrate to viewers the effects that dog dumping has on a human being and the community he lives in. The harsh reality is that not every dog will be saved, but this film will allow more people to understand and see what is happening. If more people get involved like Dan, less dogs will suffer and more people will be held accountable for their inhumane actions.

( This Is Dan, The Film) After driving over 30 years in his own neighborhood, looking and caring for homeless dumped dogs, Dan , a 60 year old man is left feeling hopeless. Hopeless because of the constant need for support and effort from his community to join him in the act of protecting and saving the lives of too many hurt, hungry and suffering stray dogs to keep count of.

We travel to organizations, individuals and business alike, who are involved in some way in the rescue community. We then film their rescue story in the environment that best fits it.

They share their experience with rescue and give valuable tips and suggestions to our viewers about their experiences. Some stories we have shared discuss deaf dogs, tripods, dogs who have cancer and much more.

These stories give those who watch an opportunity to connect with the story tellers and also learn about resources to help them and their pets personally.
