You were supposed to be dead, but now you are an Auxiliary of Rome - a foreigner fighting for the might of the Empire. You’re alone, surrounded by enemies. Also, there's a foreign voice in your head, urging you to kill. Can you fight its influence and find out who, or what, they are?

Can you forgive your enemies, or will you stay on the path of hatred? Will you find love and friendship in the last place you thought possible? Can you heal from your past?

Customize your own angry Pict: choose your sex, gender, and sexuality.

Disenchanted is an interactive fiction novel that takes place in the hidden supernatural society of the modern world.

They found you in the ashes of your home at the age of ten, surrounded by the bones of your parents. The Oracle said you were the Chosen One, destined to defeat a great evil that is yet to arrive. Arrive it does, however, in your early childhood.

They called them the Phantom, a plague on the supernatural community, a politician gone mad.

The pressure is on as you begin your education at the New York Boarding School for Arcane Arts. Yet, as the prophecies start, you fail again and again.

Cameron Fletcher does not.

They are hailed a hero, and you are nothing. Not valuable enough to remain with your foster family, not worthless enough to toss back to the mortals.

You’re normal. Maybe worse than normal, what with your history. You’re Unchosen.

Create your character. Customize gender, pronouns, appearance, skills, and personality.

Choose how you feel towards your peers and former loved ones.

Romance any of the ten options (one female, one male, and eight gender selectable). Poly routes are also available.

Choose your species. Options include Nephilim, Cambion, Siren, Banshee, Basilisk, Draca, or Sorcerer.

Decide on your magical specialties.

Lucia/Lucien “Luci” Rivera (Nephilim)(she/her or he/him), your ex-best friend or ex-partner. You used to live with their family before everything that happened. They ditched you when it became the popular thing to do. Are you bitter?

Penelope Eliades (Siren)(she/her), a student from the Mediterranean. She seems nice and is lovely to listen to, but she has fangs for a reason. This one shouldn’t be crossed under any circumstances.

Cameron Fletcher (Sorcerer)(she/her, he/him, or they/them), the new Chosen One. Talented, charming, and everything you couldn’t be. Are they actually nice or just condescending? You can’t tell.

Viktor Orlov (Draca)(he/him), your best friend. The only one that stayed by your side after your disgrace, their family let you couch surf when the Riveras kicked you out.

Harlow Mitchell (Banshee)(she/they or he/they), the child of the Oracle who condemned you to a life in the supernatural world. You don’t know if they’re just bitter that you ended up disgracing their mother’s reputation or if you just annoy them in general.

Amrita/Amrit “Amri” Singh (Nephilim)(she/her or he/him), another student at your college who comes from a long line of Nephilim on their father’s side. Set up for political office, but is generally against the idea.

Theodora/Theodore “Theo” Parker (Cambion)(she/her or he/him), they are quite possibly Cameron Fletcher’s least favorite person in the world. Theo is top of their class, and many would consider them the Chosen One’s rival. They also happen to be your roommate in university.

Charlotte/Charles “Charlie” Ortiz (Basilisk)(she/her or he/him), a fellow student who works at the campus bookstore and is in a few of your classes. Very hot, very kind, and you find a dead body together. Uh oh.

Avery Monroe (Sorcerer)(she/her or he/him), the Phantom. Disappeared six years ago. Were they truly mad in their lust for power as the world claimed, or was there a reason behind their vendetta against the magical government?

??? (Wraith)(she/they or he/they), they are following you. They are in your home, in your head, and you cannot escape.

You’re a mercenary, gun for hire, assassin, information extractor, delivery person – call it what you want, because the people that hire you for your services don’t give much of a shit what you call yourself as long as you actually get them what they want.

Your last delivery ended with you – or rather the body you have decided to take over that day – as well as your delivery getting killed. The boss is pissed now and demands you fix your mistake or else you’ll be a head shorter. Not really a look you think you can pull off so you set out to fix what you fucked up, if it just weren’t for that mask wearing asshole that wants to cut your adventure – and life from the looks of it – short.

REMEMBER, YOU WILL DIE is an interactive novel playing in the fictional city Vapolis, where you take on the job as a mercenary with a very special ability, looking to find out who has their deadly sights set on you.

ORLA [ female ] your boss and the owner of the saints & sinners. orla has been around for as long as you can remember, always working from the safety of her club und gathering as much dirt on people as she can get her hands on. she never tells you what she does with the info she has, but if you know her at all, you can guess why no one tries to run her off the streets of vapolis.

JAX [ male ] as bouncer of the saints & sinners and right hand man of orla, jax knows what is going on in the dark underbelly of the city. he is the man you call when it is time to get rid of a body or you need extra firepower, seeing he is almost as mysterious as he is good with a gun in his hands.

ROYAL [ non-binary ] royal is a little bit of everything. bartender and hacker, they know how to track you down wherever you are. often underestimated, they have learned to see the positives in flying under the radar and are incredibly good with a SocialLink in their hands and a couple of minutes of uninterrupted time.

DANTE/DELILAH [ gender cust. ] only having recently met them in this life, you are not yet quite sure what to think of them. there’s a certain darkness in their mismatched eyes you grow to recognize in your own.

THE MERC [ main ch. ] taking on the role as the merc in vapolis, you are somehow infamous for your approach to jobs and are never out of work. you might be a terrifying character on the streets of vapolis, but you’re by far not the deadliest.

I know this is rather unexpected, especially after the lack of any updates this last year, but I'm back and I owe you all an apology.

Life kicked me in the butt while mocking me that I should still be grateful to live another day. Shit happened and I'm not proud of how I acted. I took a step back from the Abyssal to heal, but I neglected my lovely readers while doing so. I'm not one to openly mope, but I received a lot of concerned asks and I thank every single one of you for still caring about my sorry behind 😊

Now, let's focus on the good part of this whole mess. I've got some news!!

Firstly, The Abyssal went through a considerable rewrite, nothing major but a few passages were added and other pieces were slightly changed. You guys will notice the difference, I hope.

Second part of Chapter 2 is focused on world-building, lore, and Éoin's life as a mortician.

Secondly, a list of small things that I added:

Around 15k words were added to chapter one and 12k to chapter two. The demo now has a total of 100k words;

Now the choices that will unlock the madness and fury domain are labeled.

Added time and location to each memory jump to better situate the reader.

You can play as a god, goddess, or deity. Choose your sexuality, appearance, personality, an immortal creature for a pet, and a powerful weapon to wield. Be a merciless monster or a benevolent being. Feared or revered? Your actions decide how mortals and gods perceive you.

This game is heavily focused on relationships, so expect a lot of romance, but romance is not required to progress through the story if that's not your thing. Speaking of which, I have 7 romanceable characters planned as of now, with 1 being gender-locked to male and the gender of the other 6 changing based on your choices.

In the choicescript IF The Passenger you are an eldritch abomination that’s about to be devoured by another unthinkable creature. Good news is you are pretty crafty and know how to jump dimensions to escape your ghastly fate; bad news is, you’re now stuck on Earth, trapped inside a dumb human larva.

As years go by, you realize the amount of energy you need to leave this horrible dimension behind is a lot more than you anticipated. Not to mention the creature that almost ate you all those years ago never really stopped looking for you. But there’s no way it’ll pinpoint your actual location… right?

This game has 4 romantic options which are bisexual and available for male, female, and non-binary players:

Fiama (female) the waitress at C.C. Diner. She’s 25 years old, she has dark kinky hair, big expressive brown eyes, and plump lips. Fiama is friendly and outgoing, and would rather be outside hiking and working out instead of stuck in the diner. She’s reliable and no-nonsense and appreciates a bit of friendly competition. Just don’t play Monopoly with her.

Jonny (male) the clerk at Hellbender’s Video Store. He’s 27, tall, with brown wavy hair and narrow moss green eyes. You’ll never see him without his military jacket on if he can help it. Jonny is a prickly guy with a love for metal music and horror movies. He’s also an acquired taste.

Roach (non-binary/male/female) an odd person with an odder aura around them. They appear to be in their early twenties, they are short with honey-colored eyes and hair. They are social, charismatic, and a shameless flirt, they also seem to be keeping lots of secrets from you. But you can trust them, probably.

Horizon (non-binary/male/female) what’s your opinion on cult leaders? What about cult leaders that are also graceful, have high cheekbones, almond-shaped gray eyes, and long and curly black hair? Horizon is in their early thirties, methodical, level-headed, with a wise aura around them. But don’t let their hippie-façade fool you, they know how to use a gun and they almost shot it once.
