Names can cause dysphoria, or just not accurately represent who they feel they are. Saying it's selfish is rude, as their family might have intentionally called them by their birth name (also known as their dead name) to hurt them after they came out. Not everyone has a good relationship with their parents or a safe environment to come out in. You wouldn't say someone's selfish for changing their pronouns because their parents raised them as one gender.

ok if you date a trans woman, you would consider her female because she is. but she might call herself trans because she isnt cis (she might have a penis, or she might not have a chest like cis woman do naturally, but she is still a woman. thats why there's a label there) if you are a lesbian and you date a trans woman, youre still a lesbian because a trans woman is still a woman. also, pansexual means that you are attracted to people and not immediately their gender

pan people aren't the only people who can date trans people. if a cis lesbian woman dated a trans woman, she would still be lesbian because she was/is dating a woman

it wouldnt be pan, it would still be lesbian, as a mtf transperson is a FEMALE, and it's kinda transphobic that you're still viewing a female trans as a male

To answer your question about whether or not lesbians like mtf trans* people, most do, the transphobic one's don't. But the transphobic ones are assholes.
