why i kind of like them together though is rhiannon’s feeling of invisibility, and thomas being obsessed with her could kinda use that idk

my initial thought was to essentially put rhiannon in alison’s place, inheriting a mansion, head injury, see ghosts, and thomas is obsessed with her. but i feel like that’s not her character, she would most definitely arrange to sell the house. unless she is forced out of her dad’s house? and she has to stay in this inherited mansion. but seren is older, so i guess she would inherit it instead. again, adjustments would be made and it’d be very clunky and wouldn’t be so interesting because thomas would be pursuing her in the same way he pursues alison. and i absolutely adore alison x thomas so it’s not something i want to copy. though i’d def write something about it

another idea i had is actually having rhiannon as a ghost. she would have to die somehow on the button house property. to draw from the show, she kind of would just kill if someone is close to finding out or does find out of her murders. the ending of s1, she kills aj after he finds out what she’s done. maybe, when her sister walks in, rhiannon is still kind of in shock and kills her too (? i don’t know, she seems to have an aversion to killing women). the guilt consumes her and she runs, ending up killing herself by drowning herself in the lake on button house property which is conveniently nearby (the magic of fanfiction ig). from a design perspective, i like the idea of a ghost being forced to spend eternity sopping wet and with cinderblocks tied to their ankles to drag around. but rhiannon doesn’t seem like the type to kill herself. thomas would consider it tragic, rather tone deaf about it being a good thing because they are together now. would definitely attempt to carry the cinderblocks but i consider him to not have an ounce of muscle on him. but she would need to die on the property for the ghost idea to work. (police shot her, perhaps? matching bullet wounds, must be fate!). i still am not completely opposed to suicide though.

however i quite like the idea of rhiannon being a ghost who dies maybe just a couple years before alison arrives. that way there can be interactions with other ghosts and alison (alison vaguely recognising her at first and then realising who she is, her face from the news) stuff like that. more to write and explore

it’s difficult to put thomas into the sweetpea universe though, due to a lot of his character being tied to the fact that he is a regency era poet ghost. so putting him in a modern setting would be more of a reimagining of him, and would be hard to keep his character. maybe he could write music, be an english lit nerd, i don’t know for sure. he could totally be just a modern poet but i am trying to play into stereotypes. think performative feminist almost? maybe not. i need to think about it more

regardless, they could just be normal people, thomas not a ghost and rhiannon not a murderer. not so enticing, though having their characters interact in a vacuum, purely based on traits and personality, could be interesting to write a couple little short things. dunno

to draw from the usa ghosts (i’m not too fond of it but can appreciate the expansion on the universe), i remember there being a ghost that was tied to a person staying at the b&b (looking it up now they called it a poltergeist). maybe if rhiannon killed a modern thomas, similarly to how she killed aj, he could be attached to her. she can see him, whether or not she could see all ghosts or just him idk depends on what i’d do with it. but he wouldn’t be able to do much other than drive her crazy because she killed him and he is obviously going to be mad. annoying ghost talking her ear off. but i guess they would eventually realise they’re stuck with each other.
