WITCHES AND FAMILIARS 101
witches, the things all puella magi's hate! sure they give us grief seeds which are vital to our soul gems, but who said we have to like them? in this post i'll be discussing witches, familiars, labryinths, etc etc.
DISCLAIMER! this is not a form of roleplay, delusion or psychosis. this is a belief under the branch of pop culture witchcraft. anyone who is rude or disregards beliefs in the comments WILL be blocked.
witches are entities that are formed by negative energy, and magical girls witching out. witching out, while it takes a while to happen, is extremely uncommon. most times, it takes quite about 5ish months to witch out and even then, most magi's avoid it as it can completely ruin your clairesenses, astral self, etc. most times witches are formed from negative energy, which is why it's common to find witches at places such as schools, places where fights break out, etc. witches are usally very large, and are usually far taller than you. most witches i've fought are atleast double my height!
familiars are often the entities you find in labryinths that aren't witches. they're usually there to distract you from finding the witch and to make you fed up enough to not wanna fight the witch. they're annoying, but pretty easy to defeat. just be sure to watch your back when near any entities in a labryinth, they can be PRETTY violent when they want to be (speaking from experience...). familiars are also USUALLY smaller than witches, but there can be exceptions (such as decoys), which i will go a little into detail on later.
labryinths are what witches and familiars hid themselves in, they're a bit hard to navigate when you're new, but you get used to it! the witch usually hides itself deep in the labryinth, but sometimes they're close to the entrance point. labryinths can be very unpredictable, such as holes randomly opening up, familiars randomly attacking, falling through holes, etc.
labryinths are accessed through the astral realm and usually cannot be sensed in physical by civillians.
#04 HOW DO I FIND AND ENTER A LABRYINTH?
you can usually tell when a witches labryinth is about when you're contracted, usually you feel sick, uncomfortable, lightheaded, etc, along with your soul gem reacting. soul gems react differently depending on the type you have. for example, my soulgem is a hairclip and whenever im nearby a labryinth, it feels like it's pulsating when i put my hand near it. those are usually tell-tale signs you're near a labryinth.
once you've found it, you wanna either remember the location, take a picture or write down the witches sigil. a sigil is an identifier thats unique per labryinth, and can be used to enter a witches labryinth when in astral no matter where you are. then, you wanna astral project to the location and focus on entering the labryinth (if you didn't spawn in it).
DISCLAIMER!: please do not enter a labryinth unless you are a contracted puella magi, as they can be dangerous and unpredictable at times. if a witch is too strong for you to defeat, LEAVE. you can always fight it another day or get a stronger magi to fight it instead.
#05 HOW DO I DEFEAT A WITCH AND HOW DO I KNOW IF I'VE DEFEATED IT?
honestly, just keep attacking it until it's gone. im serious! just keep throwing your attacks at it, once the witch is dead the labryinth will start to fade away, and a grief seed will be in the area. usually in the 5 metres around you. if you think you've defeated the witch but the labryinth doesn't fade, that was unfortunately a decoy.
decoy's are usually something in the labryinth that moves like the witch, but are not the witch. for example, the decoy might take the form of a large plant, and once you defeat the decoy, the witch might be underneath the fake plant. decoys are also usually very hard to defeat, and are almost constantly regenerating themselves. i've only encountered 2 decoys in my entire magi journey though, so take this with a grain of salt.
