Dry season was already in full swing when Louie and I first thought about going out. It didn't matter if it's a sugary sweet date or just a short stroll around town. But whatever it was, it count for little in that matter. It was almost curfew and we're at the last quarter of hours until the first minute of the next day tick in constants. We hardly got out of the gate as his three year old niece crawled to beg and cried purposely loud enough to keep us from departing. I saw the soulful look in Louie's eyes. The same tender look that made me fall for him. His wafer-thin body couldn't move to proceed at that moment. I could tell he had two minds about going. Never had I imagine he'd turn into an embodiment of sensitivity under the influence of his niece's emotional outbursts who kept grumbling about us leaving. Kindness was Louie's specialty. He understood that of all people in that time-stopping situation, he is not the best person to talk the little rascal out. We continued to drift ourselves along, passed into oblivion but the ringing of breakdown is still in our head.
We went to a spot nearby, installed ourselves on a lawn wet and freshly mowed. Above the trees across us is the delightful sight of the orange moon where we were free to loaf under its light and smell the grass as long as we want. I decided that I have to get to know him better, that I must spend as much time in his company as I can. But I had no idea what he was saying all night yet that was something I could willingly waste my time in. Nothing much I can recall aside from how we imagined all things the moon can do. Although there's that, I've always obsessed over observing that I can see through anything strange and ordinary. The words coming out of him sounded like a character in movies, expressing unforeseen confession. Withdrawn deep into himself - floating weightlessly on a cloud of his thoughts, he continued revealing his catalogue of personality. Idleness breeds thought that it brought me to question myself, how did I qualify for this person to show some self-confidence we both lacked? The ever-watchful me was wordless but that's one time the voice in my head goes silent and felt one with the world.
To my twin flame, you know how I've been trying to put into words how much our partnership means to me, and how you've helped me through the worst bits and cheered on through my best moments. I know I haven't been writing for you but I want to remind you how much I love you and just you being you. Whenever I ring you up at midnight, breaking down about the little things that won't make me sleep, you always find the words to ground me. It's only once a year that any of us will celebrate another lap around the sun but I will never get tired of wishing all the great things in life you deserve. Remember, you are capable of all things you may feel insecure about. You are beauty, skills and intellect magically wrapped together. You are sunlight the world can't help but stand by enthralled. I will always be proud of you and all that you do. Know that I got your back just as much, if not more, as you have mine.
Happy Orbit, my dearest Louie! 🌷
