this video shows how i make hair from scratch for the sims 4, using the curves method, in blender 4.3!
this took some weeks; first recording, then editing and doing some extra voice overs, and finally gathering enough courage to actually post it. i'm not gonna lie, i feel really vulnerable sharing it... with my weird voice, weird accent, failing blender terminology, gramma mistakes etc. so for now the video is only accessible via sharing this link, because simblr is just where i feel most comfortable. i might make it fully public later on. until then, it's for simblr eyes only <33

this tutorial uses:
blender 4.3
sims4studio (1.4.5.5)
adobe photoshop (optional, for step 15)
you'll also need an adobe photoshop DDS plugin!

important! you will need your own hair textures. i've uploaded 24 of my own swatches (to cover all of EA's colors) as well as a normal and specular map. feel free to use and recolor but if you make a hair for sharing and you use my texture, please credit me!

also, the tutorial will not show you how to download and install sims4studio and blender 4.3 so make sure you already have these two programs installed.

I hope it won't get delayed again, but I'm still not sure if I'll pick it up at release. I'm not too fussed about how rich the game content is (after all you can't expect it to beat sims right from the start) What I'm mainly worried about is whether my pc can run it. My pc is about as old as when the game was first announced, and now it only meets the minimum requirements. I might be able to run it on low settings but I think that would take away from the experience. If not I'll just borrow my cousin's pc and play it for a bit.

WITCHERY WEDNESDAY - Occult CAS Challenge
29th April 2026 - Theme: OCCULT SWAP or OCCULTIFY
Welcome back to the Witchery Wednesday CAS challenge! Week 2!
This week's theme is either OCCULT SWAP or OCCULTIFY. Or you can do both if you want!
Both of these challenges ideally involve editing an existing Sim as opposed to making a new one. You can use premades if you want!
OCCULT SWAP: Take an occult / supernatural Sim you have, and turn them into a different occult state (Vampire, Fairy, Spellcaster, Werewolf or Mermaid) or a different supernatural being. For example, if you have a Vampire, you could re-design the same sim as a Fairy or Werewolf. Or, if you have an angel Sim, you could turn them into a demon or devil instead.
OCCULTIFY: Take one of your fully-human Sims and make them into either a Vampire, Fairy, Werewolf, Spellcaster, Mermaid or some other kind of supernatural being.
You are welcome to do both of these. You can take a CAS screenshot, an otherwise in-game screenshot, or you can make a render if you like.
There are only four rules for the challenge, and this post also explains how it works.
