and here’s why

in my perspective, hange began losing the gleam in their eye in season 3 — where erwin died.

since then they’ve been dealing with revelation after revelation, which would seem like a paradise for the mad scientist but in that time too soldier after soldier fell, enemies triumphed, and every attempt they had, failed.

it doesn’t help when they saw levi barely alive after being set up by zeke in the forest. they would’ve been all alone if levi had died too. with moblit and erwin gone, levi was all they had as a familiar friend; one who also knew death like the back of his hand.

then their infamous last encounter with titans. they died doing their duty, and interacting with what they took interest in the most — titans.

hange dedicated their heart. it would be a spit to their tomb to not pay any tribute to their efforts as the commander erwin entrusted the survey corps with, as the leader the soldiers looked up to, and as the person who died for a step closer into victory.

rest in peace, four eyes. you’ll always be my favorite. thank you for dedicating your heart.

i’m sad for the people who won’t get to see this badass in action

disclaimer: this is just a theory and a headcanon, i don’t claim to be right in any way; this isn’t a spoiler.

so in season 3 we’ve seen the tragedy of erwin giving up and entrusting it all to levi, his most trusted soldier and friend, before charging into his suicide charge. he does this because he sees no other way to defeat the beast titan; it was his lowest point his last may i add. this was the same time as armin was also hanging onto dear life after his own individual suicide charge, and we all know who was given the second chance to live.

fast forward to the current situation where armin acts as commander and the overall brains of the survey corps. we see him slowly descending into madness, not knowing what to do next and being pressured to come up with a battle plan. similar to erwin’s situation before his passing.

here’s my theory:

i think armin’s going to take his final suicide charge, just like erwin. not sure when, but it might be soon and he’ll trust it all to mikasa, the strongest soldier in his eyes just as erwin did to levi.

his actions may or may not all go into vain but levi relives the tragedy he once had to endure and is still trying to forget with the boy who had the same look in his eyes as he did.

i dont think kaguya gets enough credit or appreciation for her strength because we all seem to focus on hayasaka

she’s been deprived of love entirely at a very young age that she only had hayasaka to turn to despite being from a wealthy family. it gets progressively worse too that she only seemed to live and experience being normal when she opened herself out to the student council.

the major arc of her not being able to study abroad with miyuki too really pointed out how traditional her family is (i.e being a forced prodigy at everything, seeking approval for anything she encounters, etc.) with the reasoning of her brother that she might not be deemed wife material if she were to be arranged with someone who has a lower standing when it comes to the education received (basically equating her worth with her potential to JUST be a housewife)

the fact that she has to suck it in because of reputation just irks me a little too much because she just wants to be normal. i wanna hug her so fucking bad.
