𝗧𝗛𝗘  𝗤𝗨𝗘𝗦𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡  𝗦𝗘𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗗  𝗧𝗢  𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗘  𝗢𝗨𝗧  𝗢𝗙  𝗡𝗢𝗪𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗘  𝗔𝗦  𝗧𝗜𝗠  𝗠𝗢𝗩𝗘𝗗  𝗔𝗥𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗗  𝗛𝗜𝗦  𝗕𝗥𝗢𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗥'𝗦  𝗞𝗜𝗧𝗖𝗛𝗘𝗡.  it  would  have  come  across  as  innocent  and  a  bit  out  of  place  if  it  wasn't  for  the  tightness  behind  each  syllable  as  he  continued  to  move  around  the  space  ,  not  once  looking  at  @circusblud  as  he  went  about.  a  small  ‘  ah  ha  !  ’  noise  came  from  the  younger  bird  as  he  seemed  to  have  found  what  he  was  looking  for  before  spinning  on  his  heels  to  look  at  his  elder  brother  ,  a  large  smile  that  screamed  dangerous  being  flashed  in  his  direction.. 

“  did  you  know  ,  i  learned  that  from  you  ?  which  means  i  am  really  good  at  spotting  when  you're  hiding  an  injury  and  pretending  nothing  is  wrong.  ”  words  were  spoken  through  a  smile  ,  the  underlying  threat  of  ‘  tell  me  i’m  wrong  ,  i  dare  you  ‘  dripping  off  each  word  as  he  walked  over  to  where  his  brother  was  lounging  on  his  couch  ,  in  one  hand  a  first  aid  kit  ,  in  the  other  the  wire  that  was  normally  attached  to  a  batarange  for  the  purpose  of  tying  up  criminals  attempting  to  run. 

 “  so  ,  here’s  what's  gonna  happen.  you're  gonna  willing  let  me  take  a  look  at  that  obviously  broken  ankle  ,  or  i'm  going  to  tie  you  to  your  sofa  and  then  look  at  your  ankle.  the  choice  is  yours.  ”

“  kinda  hard  to  stop  when  it's  all  you've  ever  really  done  .  .  .  ”

𝗧𝗛𝗘  𝗔𝗗𝗠𝗜𝗦𝗦𝗜𝗢𝗡  𝗪𝗔𝗦  𝗤𝗨𝗜𝗘𝗧  ,  𝗦𝗣𝗢𝗞𝗘𝗡  𝗟𝗢𝗨𝗗  𝗘𝗡𝗢𝗨𝗚𝗛  𝗝𝗨𝗦𝗧  𝗙𝗢𝗥  𝗧𝗛𝗘  𝗧𝗪𝗢  𝗧𝗢  𝗛𝗘𝗔𝗥.  if  tim  was  being  honest  with  himself  ,  he  wasn't  even  sure  he  wanted  @cr0wbarred  to  hear  it  ,  considering  all  the  implications  that  came  along  with  it.  he  knew  jason  was  coming  from  a  place  of  good  intention  ,  was  extending  an  invitation  for  tim  to  lower  his  barriers  and  not  have  to  carry  it  all  anymore.  there  was  a  long  exhale  as  tim's  shoulders  dropped  ,  releasing  at  least  a  little  of  the  tension  he  carried  constantly.

 “  it's  easy  to  forget  considering  it's  been  so  long  ,  but  when  i  joined  this  family  ,  intentional  or  not  ,  i  was  the  strong  one  keeping  things  together  for  a  lot  of  people.  hard  to  break  that  habit  when  it's  all  you've  known  for  a  solid  few  years.  ”

TIM  FLINCHED  BACK  AS  STEPH  SMACKED  HIS  SHOULDER  ,  A  SHORT  HISS  OF  DISCOMFORT  FOLLOWING  SUIT.  yes  ,  the  assault  was  entirely  warranted  ,  especially  after  basically  falling  off  the  grid  for  a  week  without  giving  @fablelike  even  the  slightest  bit  of  a  warning.  a  genuinely  apologetic  look  was  directed  at  the  blonde  as  he  rubbed  his  shoulder  ,  trying  to  sooth  the  spot  that  would  probably  have  hurt  a  lot  more  if  he  still  wasn't  in  his  suit. 

“  i'm  sorry  ,  steph.  genuinely  i  thought  i  sent  you  a  text  saying  i  was  following  a  lead.  you  know  i'd  never  scare  you  like  that  ,  at  least  on  purpose.  ”  was  the  pout  on  his  lips  a  desperate  attempt  to  gain  some  sympathy  and  deter  her  wrath  even  the  smallest  bit  ?  absolutely  ,  tim  was  not  above  employing  cheap  tactics  to  preserve  his  shoulder's  health. 

𝗔𝗦  𝗠𝗨𝗖𝗛  𝗔𝗦  𝗛𝗘  𝗪𝗔𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗗  𝗧𝗢  𝗗𝗘𝗡𝗬  𝗜𝗧  ,  𝗛𝗘  𝗞𝗡𝗘𝗪  𝗛𝗘  𝗪𝗔𝗦  𝗙𝗔𝗗𝗜𝗡𝗚  𝗙𝗔𝗦𝗧.  the  exhaustion  was  creeping  up  on  him  in  an  all  too  familiar  sense  ,  body  slowing  and  limbs  starting  to  feel  as  if  led  was  infesting  them.  tim  wanted  to  believe  he  was  hiding  it  well  ,  that  only  he  was  aware  with  how  quickly  he  was  beginning  to  slip  into  the  grasps  of  unconsciousness  ,  only  for  solid  ,  familiar  arms  to  wrap  around  him  and  pull  him  against  their  chest  with  an  ever  gentle  ‘  come  here  ’.   oh  ,  yeah  ,  @pathmade.  instead  of  fighting  it  ,  tim  leaned  into  barbara's  hold  ,  a  small  noise  that  could  best  be  interpreted  as  a  thanks  grumbled  from  the  younger  boy  as  he  fell  to  the  call  of  sleep  within  the  safe  hold  of  his  big  sister. 

𝗧𝗛𝗘  𝗥𝗢𝗢𝗠  𝗙𝗘𝗟𝗧  𝗔𝗦  𝗜𝗙  𝗜𝗧  𝗪𝗔𝗦  𝗦𝗣𝗜𝗡𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚  𝗗𝗘𝗦𝗣𝗜𝗧𝗘  𝗞𝗡𝗢𝗪𝗜𝗡𝗚  𝗛𝗘  𝗪𝗔𝗦  𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗔𝗥𝗬.  eyes  squeezed  closed  as  he  attempted  to  recenter  his  gravity  ,  nausea  washing  over  him  as  his  body  adjusted.  once  his  stomach  finally  settled  ,  tim  slowly  opened  his  eyes  ,  absolutely  ready  to  see  the  same  gray  metallic  walls  and  floor  he  has  been  staring  at  for  .  .  .   god  who  knows  how  long  ,  only  to  be  greeted  with  carpet.  tim  felt  something  tighten  in  his  chest  ,  sending  a  silent  prayer  out  to  the  universe  this  wasn't  his  brain  playing  a  cruel  trick  on  him  once  again.  slowly  ,  he  began  lifting  his  head  ,   taking  in  his  environment  before  his  eyes  settled  onto  @stolenparticles  ,  standing  a  few  feet  away  with  an  expression  he  couldn't  fully  read.

“  cassie  ?  ”  there  was  a  noticeable  shake  in  his  voice  as  he  said  her  name  ,  almost  as  if  he  couldn't  trust  what  he  was  seeing  or  saying.  just  as  he  was  about  to  try  moving  to  his  feet  ,  the  full  weight  of  cassie  came  crashing  against  him  ,  arms  squeezing  around  him  in  the  tightest  hold  he  has  probably  ever  been  in.  his  brain  stalled  for  a  moment  ,  processing  the  fact  that  this  was  real  ,  she  was  real.  arms  slowly  went  to  wrap  around  her  ,  hands  digging  into  the  back  of  her  shirt  as  he  buried  his  face  in  her  shoulder.  it  didn't  take  much  for  him  to  break  ,  his  shoulders  shaking  as  tears  began  spilling  against  her  shoulder.  “  you  found  me  .  .  .   you  found  me.”  

so dc is allergic to having all of young justice share a story huh.
