I havenât been on Tumblr in a minute. But to my fellow Agents of SHIELD, I just want to say that itâs been a hell of a Bus ride these past years. Itâs been an honour. Finale is gonna make us cry, but thatâs what this show does best.

I will really miss this show... đ˘
Best friends
I honestly LOVE AND ADORE their friendship. But I also ship them together, you know? I like Eve but it felt very forced with her and Maze as a paring, as if to distract from the chemistry Maze x Linda have naturally. I just wish the writers had thought to explore that potential a little. It just feels like such a natural fit for the characters, and I will go down with this ship forever!

You know, I still donât know how to dance. Iâll show you how. Just be there.
Can you imagine just how much the line âIt was beautiful.â entails? Steve created a paralel timeline where he could do whatever he wanted. Not only did he marry Peggy, probably had children and lived a full life, he also got to see everyone who matted to him back then again, he probably found Bucky, went out to drink with the Howlies and was a part of how their lives played out, got to torment Phillips a bit more, stayed in Howardâs life, made sure he was better to Tony, stopped HYDRA from ever ruining SHIELD⌠He must have been so incredibly, incandescently happy.

You know whatâs cooler than the idea of Fantastic Beasts or Cursed Child? How about this: The Wizarding World meets the Special Operations Executive in a Netflix series.
Premise: The year is 1940. The Germans have conquered France. Hitler stands as master of Europe. And behind him is Gellert Grindelwald, the greatest dark wizard Europe has ever seen. The United Kingdom, her Commonwealth and Empire, stand in defiance of the Nazis. A secret offshoot of MI6 is formed by Prime Minister Winston Churchill: The Special Operations Executive. Theyâre nicknamed âThe Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare.â Their mission: âTo set Europe ablaze.â They will be trained in spy craft, sabotage, assassination, deception, and guerrilla warfare. They are recruited from all walks of life: from Indian royalty to night club singers.
But Churchill knows about the Wizarding World. He is well informed on the sort of hold Grindelwald has on Hitlerâs inner circle. In collaboration with Minister for Magic (and distant cousin) Leonard Spencer-Moon and the famed Hogwarts professor Albus Dumbledore, they recruit wizards. Are they breaking the Statute of Secrecy? Well, there is the Official Secrets Act. And their files will not be made public for a very, very long time. As for these wizards, they vary just as much as their muggle counterparts: refugees, aurors, champion duelists, and criminals alike. Thereâs a pureblood debutante and an exiled Italian gangster among their ranks.Â
Theyâre sent into occupied territory. Theyâre tasked with creating resistance cells, gather intelligence, and sabotage Axis efforts. And the witches and wizards are given a special mission: discredit Grindelwald. Soften him up and put him on the defensive. Eliminate his forces and make him look weak.Â
And so we the audience follow one such SOE cell. They could be in France, Italy, the Balkans, Greece, Scandinavia, North Africa or the South Pacific. We follow their trials and tribulations. Their triumphs and defeats; probably from 1941 to June of 1944. They work side by side with muggles and squibs. It doesnât matter. They all have their personal reasons; they just donât want to sit by as evil reigns. They donât like bullies, no matter where theyâre from.Â
SIGN ME THE FUCK UP!! Also the Cap reference, I see what you did there...
âŚAlfredâs pockets were bulging with explosives, which he invariably seemed to carry about with him, much to the terror of his companions, although he swore there was no danger in the habit, since he kept the detonators in a separate pocket. Once a resounding explosion had occurred on his person as the detonator pocket received an unexpected blow. This had demolished his pocket but caused no other damage. Explosions were nothing new in this camp. They were encouraged by Major Young, who promised a pint of beer to any man who could place a pull switch, press switch or self-opening switch on any part of the building, on the furniture or in his car that would detonate before he had discovered its presence.
âOf Their Own Choiceâ, Peter Churchill. An account of the second stage of SOE training.
I really enjoy how I donât have to stretch âthese people are insane ergo the SOE want themâ as a plot device at all.Â

11 WOMEN WARRIORS OF WORLD WAR II
Over 100 million military personnel participated in World War II, including many women. Here are the stories of eleven of these brave women from many countries who all did their part â and more â for the Allied effort.
âSecrecy was the key word during our training. Even my family didnât know where I was or what I was doing. We werenât allowed to tell anyone. To find something out during the war you had to belong to that particular department, but even then you were not completely in the know. Even the army didnât realize that we were civilians in uniform. During training I was given a uniform and the rank of second lieutenant [in the Womenâs Auxiliary Air Force]. Right, I thought, I am a second lieutenant. In fact, it was only an honorary commission. It was a sort of military cover that, it was hoped, would give some protection if we were captured, but in fact I was still a civilian. To become an officer in England during the war, you had to spend at least six months in the ranks. Time was too short for the agents to actually become part of the military.â

Pearl Witherington, quoted in Code Name Pauline: Memoirs of a World War II Special Agent, ed. Kathryn J. Atwood.
Witherington served as a Special Operations Executive agent with F Section, Stationer network. She parachuted into France in September 1943.
It was a pleasure to attend the unveiling of a plaque in Chorlton-Cum-Hardy, Manchester, on Saturday 12th May, in honour of Madge Addy, a former nurse in the Spanish Civil War and WW2 agent for the Special Operations Executive.
The mission of the Special Operations Executive (SOE) was sabotage and subversion behind enemy NAZI lines and upon the instruction of Prime Minister Winston Churchill, SOE were ordered to âset Europe ablaze!â
SOE are known for the heroic role that women played during WW2, with agents including Noor Inayat Khan, who died in Dachau Concentration Camp and Odette Hallowes, who later testified against guards charged with war crimes at the RavensbrĂźck Trials.
Other known names include Violette Szabo - Carve Her Name with Pride - who was executed in RavensbrĂźck concentration camp and âthe white mouseâ Nancy Wake, who died in London in 2011.
Among those who spoke at Saturdayâs event, included Eddy Newman, the Lord Mayor of Manchester, Jeff Smith MP, Alison Bunn of the Royal British Legion (featured in the video) and the International Brigade Memorial Trust, who organised the event.

History people! Virginia Hall is a badass and more people should read this book. I am very much enjoying a deep dive into spying and spycraft in World War Two.
