Another set of sentence prompts!
âNo, you donât deserve ice cream!âÂ
âPlease stop calling it your lair.âÂ
âI want a lion.â
âIâll be the guard dog.âÂ
âDo you HATE happiness?!âÂ
âOkay, I got a pla- oh."Â
"What are your thoughts on giraffes in turtlenecks?â
âARE YOU ABSOLUTELY BONKERS?!"Â
"âWeâre not going to dieâ? Weâre not going to die?! Well it bloody feels like weâre about to die!â
âAt least breathe in between bites!â
âYouâre strangely nonchalant for someone who almost died a minute ago.â
âWho are these people?!â
âThat was definitely my finest hour.â
âYou are not going to have a good day.â
âUse the little scanny thing.â
âOw, you shot me in the face!â
âBehind you!â
âListen, itâs for science.â
âI didnât even have to do anything.â
âDude, this is romantic as fuck.â
âIâm in your mindâŚâ âGreat, just what I needed, more useless crap in there.â
âAnyone want to sing along?â
âI can save you.â âNo, you canât.â
âI donât want to be rude, but youâre here to do an actual job.â
âAre you humming?â âItâs my theme song, I need it for confidence!â
âLetâs talk dirty to each other.â âBabe⌠weâre at work. Remember? Professional. Behavior. Please.â
âThat looks infected.â âItâs fine.â âYouâre dying.â âWell⌠thatâs fine too.â
âCrickety crack, thatâs really wack.â
Good mornin', whether i's morning or not.
âIâll take it that means youâve just gotten up,â Alexander chuckled, offering the other a grin. It was evening at best. Late enough that he was sitting at the bar drinking a whiskey sour, though that didnât mean much for him. He would drink at nine in the morning and not blink twice. âIf thatâs the case, what better way to get your day started than to have someone buy you a drink, if youâll allow me that is.â
@icexshadow
âA pleasure, Alex,â Wolf inclined her head slightly as she grasped his hand. Though her eyes moved over him quickly in unison, her solid black right eye seemed not to move at all, save a subtle shift in the reflection of light. The locals had gotten used to it and barely noticed it anymore, but she usually didnât say anything unless someone else did. People will be people, Shilo helped her understand that. Picking up her glass, she tipped it toward him a bit then caught the bar tenderâs eye and thanked both of them before sipping and continuing. âSo, Alex. How do ya starâ your day, then? Must be long ta end up here, yeah?â While Wolfâs speech patterns are quite pronounced, her accent is vague; she masks the southern twang well with a wall of generic pronunciation and mild Irish. âCoffee? Tea? A shorâ race around the block tâ geâ your blood pumping?â
Another chuckle left him and he grinned. âWell, normally, my days start with a cold shower and a cup of coffee, today though, it started with waking up next to the riverbank of this place, not knowing where I was,â he admitted. âI got on my feet and I figured out where I was, then found the nearest bar, hence how I ended up here. Been here a few hours now.â
@icexshadow
âA riverbank, how unexpected.â She slides just a tad closer, intrigue written all over her face. âI guess laâe starts by a river are better than no starts at all. Musâve been a wild night, though I guess ya donâ remember. Ya donâ seem like a partier,â Wolf remarks more for her benefit than Alexâs. âMy sister is very much one ta play hard and sleep harder. Pretty sure sheâs woken up in strange places as well, with less  clothing. Or were ya butt naked?â She teased, then sipped her drink. Wolf was having a lot of fun already. Maybe fun wasnât the word. A good time was definitely being had, though, at least on her part.Â
As the time went on, Wolf gradually started letting all other sounds flood her ears as well. While she may be off work and relaxing in her spare time, she couldnât help but hear what others dared utter aloud. Mostly it was general babble, such as that which she did with Alex. Some of it was flirting, some of it was heated debate, and some of it was sob stories. Wolf loved it all, but she kept her mind mostly focused on her own conversation. Eavesdropping was jut too easy with hearing like a dogâs. She idly adjusted the band on her left finger and wafted her whiskey.Â

SO SORRY HERE I AM NOW
Good mornin', whether i's morning or not.
âIâll take it that means youâve just gotten up,â Alexander chuckled, offering the other a grin.
@icexshadow
Acknowledging his reply with her own lazy half smile, she sat on the seat to the right and sighed. âThe morninâ starâs for me when the sun begins tâ set. Or iâ does nowâŚÂ â Wolf narrowed her eyes a little as she considered this statement. âHmm. Anyway, I think Iâll take ya up on thaâ offer. Iâll âave whaâ heâs havinâ,â she turned to address whomever was making the drinks. Usually it would be her. For a woman with bad memory, she could name pretty much every one of the regulars during her shifts.Â
âWolf,â she greeted, offering her hand. This was not her shift, and she clearly didnât know who this man was, but he smelled peculiar, and she almost never turned off âprofessional socializingâ mode. It was a habit, to slip into the act of getting to know strangers, and Wolf liked to think she had a knack for it. Her curiosity was genuine and her smile authentic. For now.Â
@sterlingsilvertongue
The bartender went about making another whiskey sour for Wolf, and the man before her grinned widely, shaking her hand. As he spoke, his accent was thick. âMy nameâs Alexander, but you can call me Alex. I prefer it actually,â he replied before picking his drink back up and taking a long sip.Â
It had been a hell of a day, and really he felt like this was hat he needed. He was meeting a stranger and he could spin any story he liked. He didnât have to be a creature as old as time. He didnât have to be trapped like a bird in a cage in a body that was his prison. He could just be Alex, that guy from the bar.Â

Strangers In the Night
A young woman passes through town without even a gander at her surroundings. She knows where she is, she knows what she puts quickly behind her and to where she is headed on this drizzly evening. Eyes fixed forward, collar up, she steals across the street, splashing into a puddle made earlier by heavier precipitation. She catches the attention of a figure just gliding from view, a shadow beneath a street lamp; something isn't right. Two obscure figures catch each other's gaze, one meeting the sidewalk the other stands on. The woman approaches cautiously. Next, she's gone - no witnesses whatsoever.

âYes.â Einzelgänger responded tonelessly, pressing a button that sent an electric shock through the camera. âFocus or youâll never get done.â She added then, crossing her legs before pressing another button that started to leak gas. âScratch that, focus or youâll die.â
âYIKES!â Wolf shot away from the camera, quite possibly propelled by the shock and powered by adrenaline. Jolting back to the present after a flashback as shocking as the electricity, she involuntarily whimpered while standing and collecting herself. After a few curses beneath her breath, the woman cleared her throat and continued to jog through. âIâm not afraid of death, buâ Iâd rather noâ die here. So whaâ all is this? I mean, did you build this stuff?â She was about to touch something then reconsidered, given what had happened last time she touched. Pulling her hand away, Wolf instinctively patted herself down for a writing utensil, preferably one that would work on skin.
âJust focus on living.â She bypassed her questions, only watching with a smirk when the girl was hesitant to touch something else. âAt this rate, weâll be here for years.â
âYa think timeâll pass slow when ya waiâ for me, imagine how slow iâ passes when youâre heartâs racin, blood pumpinâ and the fearâs goâ your adrenaline spiking through the roof,â she retorted. âYour sense of echo locationâs been thrown off by a sharp ringinâ from a few heavy blows ta your cranium, and the bastard jusâ keeps cominâ back for more. Blind rage, my disembodied voice friend. Iâ has the power ta slow down the universe, when it is your universe.â Wolf wasnât quite sure what inspired her to blurt that out, other than the vague flashback running through her still reeling mind. Usually she wasnât so forthcoming about that stuff.Â
âLivinâ is whaâ I do best, these days.â With that, she sped through the test, bypassing a couple things meant to be obstacles by free-running through the whole thing, then hopped into a lift. âBeam me up!â
âPress the button.â She flicked the lift on, now becoming fully functioning for further use. âOnly forty-nine more floors to go.â
She heard the hum of technology booting up somewhere within the facility and felt the elevator power on, then saw the lights flicker then shine. âLovely. Leâs go!â Perhaps a bit overzealously, she smashed the button with her knuckles and watched the doors shut, then waited quietly for the lift to... lift her. âThis beam is sure slow.â Well. Almost silently. âIsnâ there a way to jusâ install one lift for all 50 floors? Thaâs so much more efficient!âÂ
The woman was starting to wonder how truly dangrous this could get, but wasnât really worried. Sheâd seen some shit, it oculdnât be too much worse down here. Plus if she didnât get home before the next century, Shilo would probably be a little worried. Not much, 100 years isnât that long. All understatement aside, Wolf really was intrigued, and hoped to write something about this experience once she was done. When the elevator stopped, she slipped out and looked around.
