I have autism and I thought it was temperature dysregulation?

I’ve always run hot but my temp when I take it is a degree or two lower than the norm. So when I get a fever or migraine attack, my temp is 98 or 99, which for me, is a fever cuz I’m usually a high 95 or mid 96. I’m never 98 unless I have a migraine or I’m actually SICK.

I’m the kind of person that in -10°C weather here in Ontario I’m wearing sneakers with no socks and a T-shirt and hoodie and I’m fine. People around me are wearing winter jackets and my temperature is fine. And God forbid if the temperature gets the slightest bit warm in a car, because my hoodie has to come off otherwise I start sweating and I get really overwhelmed when I get too hot. I think it’s because I know that pain is coming because he very much is one of my main triggers for my migraine attacks.

For example, it is -20 Celsius outside right now and I’m sure it’s room temperature in the house, but because I have a migraine attack coming on for the past few hours, my temperature is almost at 99 which is a little over 100 for most people and I’m going to be cracking the window open when I get in bed and go to sleep and I always sleep with an ice pack. Winter or summer.

Always. If I could keep an ice pack cold and it could last nine hours, I would sleep the whole time. But as soon as it warms up, and it’s not cold anymore, I wake up so within two hours, I’m waking up and switching my eyes pack and going back to bed. That’s been my routine for nine years now.
