It was quite something, suddenly finding himself in a place where such a small number of lives knew of him as someone prone to surprising people. While it wouldn’t stop Wataru from going about his activities as usual, it’d perhaps be necessary to keep this fact in mind, lest he wind up in more trouble than he wanted to be in.
He reminds himself of this as he takes perch on a rather unusual spot upon the condo complex’s rec center, glancing around at his surroundings thoughtfully. He’d taken up sitting above the entryway to get a slightly better view of everything around him, preferring to have a better understanding of the make of the surrounding world than not. It wasn’t really anything noteworthy though, aside from condo after condo, differentiated only by colors to ensure people wouldn’t get lost constantly. Wataru hadn’t expected anything less, but still.
Having seen what he’d wanted, he was about to come down from his perch when he took note of someone approaching. Someone he’d never seen before (unsurprisingly, considering how populated this world was), who didn’t seem to notice him. He could wait until after they’ve passed through the doors, but he had nothing more to see from up here. And so unceremoniously, he appears in front of the man–hanging upside down, hair draping against the ground (staying like this for long wouldn’t be a good idea in that case), and a smile worming onto his lips.
“Such a solemn look does not seem befitting a day like this!” Wataru offers neither a proper greeting nor an explanation of what he’s even doing, for such things can come eventually. “It is a wonderful day, is it not? And yet you seem almost perturbed! Shall I show you a trick? Perhaps magic, or I could imitate the voice of a famous figure flawlessly; I am capable of many things… ✰”

He hides it well to everyone else, but on the inside he just isn’t feeling quite up to par. There is less of a bounce to his step and the charismatic wonderment is currently overwhelmed by a sense of loss. Everything is new to him and while he personally doesn’t mind that he finds himself worrying about the others he holds connections with in his life. What’s become of them? Conflict stirs behind brilliant eyes and he can only try to subdue it with thoughts of positivity. He has so much to look forward to here; a new start and he’s not entirely alone!
Still, he smiles softly down to Makkachin, thankful that he is with his faithful companion. It’s when he barks in excitement that he looks up and finds himself about to walk right into a flurry of hair and energy. He’s reflexive enough to stop in time and even though his face is mere inches from his face he can only blink with surprise before his smile twists up into something more merry, as if to say he hasn’t a clue as to what he’s talking about. He chooses to dodge it, seeing no need to worry the other though at the offer for a magic trick of all things he perks up, is drawn in. He claps his hands together, ready for anything.
❝Show me a trick! Are you a magician? What other things do you speak of?❞ Overly curious and energetic he doesn’t quite realize he’s being quite invasive of the other’s space in his thrill to meet someone as mysterious as this-- and capable of magic tricks!
