Random Kirby fan. What's up!?

I said that my Susie and my Taranza are both cringefail. Well, it's also true for my Magolor! Wave 3 is the cringefail wave to me.

Even after redeeming himself, Magolor is still very much egotistical. I mean, that's pretty obvious when seeing that Merry Magoland has his face plastered all over it and is generally themed around him, but he also frequently hypes himself up, makes a big deal out of his good deeds, and treats his birthday like it's a literal holiday. I think this guy just really, REALLY likes himself. He's his own biggest fan.

And like Susie, he is also both a sore winner AND a sore loser when it comes to playing games and competitions with others. In fact, despite the two of them being friends, they constantly try to one-up each other in games, and it can often get pretty heated. Both of them sometimes get laughed at for blatantly full of themselves they are.

Magolor is a lot more honest than he was before as a result of his redemption, but he still has a guilty pleasure of telling lies sometimes. At least he doesn't do it for nefarious reasons anymore, though. When he tells lies, he just does it for kicks and giggles because he often enjoys trolling people. He's a very silly guy. But in many situations, he's quick to clarify when he's actually being truthful about what he says.

And speaking of trolling people, he is absolutely still mischievous. He loves pulling pranks on people. Although he has standards and wouldn't try to pull the type of prank that'd make someone genuinely decide to beat him up. This makes him more tame than Marx, who thinks that getting beat up after pranking someone can be worth it for the bit.

Magolor sometimes gets into prank wars with people. Marx is by far the most frequent person he does it with, but he's also done it with Susie, Taranza and Daroach, all three of which have the willpower to prank him back sometimes. King Dedede has also done it a couple of times. Some of these prank wars can get competitive or heated because of Magolor's ego, as he vows to win them. He'll make a show of it if someone manages to embarrass him during a prank war.

He puts on a cheerful and friendly persona in public for when he's not being mischievous, but it's pretty over-the-top and some people either have a hard time believing the sincerity of it or think he's being too much of a tryhard. The villainous stunt he pulled is pretty well known, as he doesn't hesitate to talk about it, but at least people generally understand he's not up to anything truly sinister again despite the skepticisms over how genuine his highly friendly behavior is.

Like Susie, Magolor also largely avoids showing vulnerability in regards to his trauma, although with him it's a little different. He has baggage over being having been stranded in Another Dimension, but here's the thing: He's actually willing to talk about being stranded there, but he rarely ever admits to being traumatized by it and instead spins it in a positive light as he makes it out to be a badass/triumphant story of how he was trapped in hell for a time but then beat his inner demons and got himself out because of it.

What he IS largely quiet about, however, is how the Master Crown was possessing him and trying to take over his body. He felt so hurt by it that it makes him way too uncomfortable to talk about it for the most part. He refuses to say a thing about it to most people. The only people that know about it at all are the main squad (Kirby, Dedede, Meta Knight and Bandee), Marx and Susie. And they've all been excessively begged to keep it a secret.

The main squad know about it because, of course, they were there to witness it happening. Marx is Magolor's best friend, so he opens up about it to him, and he also opens up about it to Susie because she and Magolor both connected over a mutual feeling of not liking to show vulnerability, and because of it they've come to trust each other enough to exchange their secrets without any fear of either of them telling the other's secrets to anyone else.

For a time period of several years, Magolor often has music blasting in the Lor Starcutter by virtue of how fun-minded he generally is. This is for the first several years of him living in Planet Popstar after RTDL, and then it becomes much less frequent when production on Merry Magoland starts.

Magolor has started slumber parties, as he's been a night owl for many nights and has had music blasting in the Lor at like 3 or even 4 am. This has woken people up during their sleep and pissed them off before. You can imagine their relief when Magolor has started doing this MUCH less often after starting work on this theme park.

Although he hasn't COMPLETELY stopped doing it. He still finds occasional weekends to do it, but he's generally become a more responsible person while building and opening Merry Magoland.

Magolor is also, of course, a proud capitalist like Susie, although he prides on being a lot more "fun" with his capitalism by comparison. Oh, and they've both given some publicity to each other's businesses.

That sums it up for my Magolor. I'm not sure I have much else to say, but lmao I love this guy he's sure something.

I once brought up this idea of him randomly sleeping at Kirby's doorstep one night, but really we could imagine him doing this with literally anyone else in the cast.

Imagine him doing an overnight prank of sleeping right outside the Halberd. Or right outside the entrance of Castle Dedede.

I said that my Susie is a total girlfailure. Well, to go along with that, my Taranza is a total guyfailure.

He's sopping wet and pathetic, and he is also a comically overdramatic theater-kid type of guy. He goes on dramatic rants, sometimes it's emotional venting, but other times it's him wanting to gossip or even just be dramatic for the sake of it. And it's easy to get dramatic reactions out of him.

He is absolutely a "WELL ACKSHULLY" type of guy during conversations and arguments, especially when he takes offense to disagreements on certain things. He also sometimes acts pretentious and to a lesser extent pedantic.

He will immediately play along to any musical near him, loving to participate in karaokes started by other people.

Sectonia's mistreatment of Taranza did a number on his self-esteem, so he's not full of himself like Susie and Magolor are, but he does still have an ego as he still eats it up when he gets praise. And while a lot of time he doesn't really see himself as cool, if someone calls him cool or treats him like he's cool cool then he'll make a big show of it like "Oh my stars, ____ thinks I'm cool? Did you guys hear that?!? I might actually be cool after all!! I'm cool!! I'm actually cool!!"

When it comes to playing games and competitions with others in the Kirby cast, Taranza isn't a sore loser, but he IS a sore winner. When he wins, it emboldens him and stokes his ego. Although when he develops a winning streak, it can make him very confident, and when he loses a game during this confidence, it can make him feel taken aback and dumbfounded.

Like Susie, Taranza also gets very overconfident when he comes up with plans for stuff. His plans fail more often than hers, and when he fumbles trying to carry out whatever plans he has, his overconfidence falling flat on its face often makes him look like a total buffoon.

He can often get carried away while hyper-focused on things to the point he can end up humiliating himself, such as this one moment where he shows off his magic to someone, he accidentally webs himself, which embarrasses him and he vows to not let that happen again.

He presents himself more honestly in public than Susie and Magolor do, and talks about his woes to more people than those two do. He is willing to openly admit how sopping wet he can be, although he doesn't want people to JUST think he's sopping wet, he appreciates sympathy but he doesn't want to be treated like a charity case. Even he would think that's degrading. He also enjoys showing off his magic and proudly admits he has a theater-kid personality.

In contrast to Susie as she only opens up about her time in Another Dimension and Max Haltmann being her dad to a very select few amount of people (although she does let everyone know about Haltmann, but just tells most people that he was her boss), Taranza opens up about Sectonia's tragedy to a lot more people, and isn't shy about how much he cares about her.

Although there's a bit of variation to it. He doesn't go as far as to publicly traumadump, and doesn't necessarily explain ALL the details of the story to everyone, he explains a bit more vaguely to people he's not as close to, but he generally lets everyone know how Joronia/Sectonia wasn't always an evil tyrant, she used to be a better person than what she was at the end, and how she became evil because of that mirror he gave her, which he of course feels immense guilt and regret over.

And by the way, he's gutted about Sectonia's death for about a year after Triple Deluxe, but he does slowly try to heal move on, as making new friends goes a long way in helping that.

Her death has severely damaged the ego he had beforehand, but as he slowly heals from her death, his smugness and arrogance slowly comes back. And truthfully, alongside missing Sectonia herself, he also misses how smug he was and how much of a dramatic theater-kid he was, and so he's glad to start regrowing those traits with the new friends he makes.

When the new friends he makes motivates him to start causing mischief again after Sectonia's death, it's a dopamine boost for him. And he is told by some people that he has a "killer smile", something that stokes his ego.

Taranza is a goon at heart, and loves being a goon. He eventually starts "following orders" again when some of his new friends give him tasks of mischievous stuff to do. Susie is by far the most often one to do this with him, he legit views Susie as a "girlboss" and enjoys being loyal to her and doing whatever goofy shit she instructs him to do. Magolor can also do with his him to a lesser extent, as can the Mage Sisters.

But no worries, none of them actually have him do anything EVIL lmao. Nothing like what Sectonia had him do. They get him to cause some trouble but not to the point where any of them actually get in real deep shit with Kirby or anything. They're all just having fun lol.

Taranza has a soft spot for women, generally being nicer to them than men. He's willing to prank-kidnap guys like Magolor and Marx, and heck he's even willing to kidnap King Dedede again albeit just as a prank instead of for nefarious reasons like before, but he'd never do this to Susie or the Mage Sisters. This makes him be seen as a gentleman, but to an extent it can also make him be seen as a simp.

I know that the simp jokes with Taranza can get pretty old and overdone, but I'll be real with you, I genuinely think it would be hilarious if he were to get called a simp in-universe.

I think that sums it up for how I characterize Taranza. I dunno, I just especially love the idea of having still act like a goon, just a lot more tame compared to how he was previously doing it. He knows better than to allow himself to stoop to evil levels again, but he still can't help himself but continue being silly for other people's sake.

Oh, and one more thing: One of the Kirby mangas (can't remember which one) and that one celebration image from Air Riders depicts Taranza eating doughnuts. I'm incorporating that for my Taranza. Bro loves doughnuts. I suppose I'm saying this because I do like incorporating stuff from the Kirby mangas, like how my Susie is loosely inspired by Sparking Pupupu's Susie in terms of how cutesy and silly she is.

With this, Meta Knight can get to experience something violating again, and Susie can get to experience this sort of thing for the first time, with her being put on the receiving end of something similar she herself had previously dished out. This could bring about a new development for the dynamic that the two of them may have.

This won't be something that I'll actually materialize into an AU or anything, because last year I already made an AU where Susie gets victimized by new colonizers - that AU is about Wave 3 getting tormented by new villains that are basically reflections of them - but that being said, this idea still entered my head and I feel like it could be done interestingly.

I actually don't think that Taranza has anymore of a solidified redemption than Susie does.

There's been so much controversy over whether or not Susie has redeemed herself, but a lot of people just seemingly believe that Taranza is totally undoubtedly redeemed and is unambiguously a good person after his debut. But does he really deserve that much credit?

They're both on the same boat of where they help Kirby by giving him things to fight Sectonia and Star Dream with, and then aren't given explicit redemption arcs after that.

You could very well say that Susie's action of giving Kirby an Invader Armor was done out of pragmatism rather than genuine goodwill because Star Dream was going to kill everyone, but honestly, I think the same could be said about Taranza throwing that Miracle Fruit to Kirby. It is very possible he only did that because he knew how dire things were getting and that Sectonia was going to kill everyone. Not sure how that's any less pragmatic than Susie giving Kirby the armor.

And when the final bosses get defeated... okay, sure, there's sort of a difference. Susie seemingly just leaves Popstar at the end while Taranza actually sticks around for a bit, but he's not really doing anything other than just help carry King Dedede in the air, and they still don't give Taranza any sort of post-Triple Deluxe arc that further solidifies redemption for him. So I'd say that's not much better than Susie leaving Popstar.

It's also worth pointing out that both Triple Deluxe and Planet Robobot have been absolutely botched in terms of their storytelling. Like, it says something that they've had to make Miiverse posts for both games. With this considered, the ending cutscenes of both games could probably be somewhat put into question altogether anyways.

Like I said, neither Taranza or Susie have been given explicit redemption arcs after their games. Magolor has more of one in the form of his epilogue in RTDL DX than either of them do. (And honestly, I think even Magolor's redemption has some grey area to it. Like, is he only redeeming himself because he just doesn't want Kirby to kick his ass again? But I digress, this post isn't about him)

And then let's take a look at their Star Allies descriptions...

Susie's English SA description of her still mechanizing planets and people is blatantly mistranslated bullshit (and I'm pretty sure Star Dream was needed for mechanizing planets in the first place, so how is it even possible after Star Dream blew up?) and so let's look at her Japanese SA description. It says that she wants to help families and bring harmony and happiness, but it also says she wants to "exterminate savages" which, not gonna lie, that is indeed pretty sketchy.

But I think it can genuinely be reasoned that this sketchy line is directed at the Jamba Cult because they're threatening the harmony and happiness talked about and they're who you're fighting as Susie, and it can be reasonably interpreted that Susie is trying to improve herself but still has bad practices that she needs to unlearn. Which, in my opinion, that's okay. She's not perfect and I don't need her to be.

Now let's look at Taranza's Star Allies description. It appears that he wants to bring Sectonia back to life, basically necromancy. I feel like people have been glossing over the potential moral dubiousness of this, especially when considering how in-universe people could see it as him wanting to bring a dictator back to life. He's likely well-intentioned with this, but I don't think it's certain whether he strictly wants spider Joronia back or if he'd be fine with her coming back as the evil tyrannical wasp she became. He does have that Queen's Phantom attack, after all.

Basically what I'm getting at is that Susie and Taranza both still have issues, it's plausible to call them redeemed but we don't actually know just how redeemed they are, because neither of them have been given arcs after their debut games. So in my opinion it's not really fair to treat them super differently in terms of redemption.

This bitch is a total girlfailure. She touts herself as being top shit and the coolest person ever, but really that just makes her quite cringefail and pathetic.

She's very conceited and full of herself. She brags about how cute and beautiful she is, sometimes not shutting up about it, and she eats it up when someone actually goes and compliment her as such. And as an example to demonstrate her being full of herself, she'll build a snowman that looks exactly like herself during the winter.

When it comes to participating in games and competitions with others in the Kirby cast, Susie is both a sore winner AND a sore loser. She'll gloat about her victory when she wins, and get really pissy and mad when she loses.

She'll often get way ahead of herself during projects to the point she loses her mind when things don't go according to plan.

She is also frequently pedantic when she talks, and doesn't hesitate to make sarcastic remarks during arguments with others.

Susie puts on a cutesy, silly, giggly persona in public. This is partially genuine of her nature as she really does love cute things and she's immature for her age because she didn't grow up properly, but one could also say that it may very well be a coping mechanism of sorts because she doesn't bother talking about her trauma to most people and often just represses it.

Most people don't know that Susie was stranded in Another Dimension for a long time and that Max Profitt Haltmann was her father, because she doesn't talk about it to most. In fact, only a very select few know these things. Them being Kirby, Taranza and Magolor, because those are the first three friendships that Susie makes, and there's a moment where Kirby accidentally catches her in a vulnerable position that forces her to reluctantly open up to him.

Opening up to Taranza and Magolor was a bit more willing in comparison when she learns they have trauma that is similar to hers. And to keep her past private, she begs them and Kirby to not tell anyone else about the things she's opened up to them about.

Although far later on she opens up to the Mage Sisters, but that's besides the point.

In public, Susie is willing to act emotional about stuff that has nothing to do with her past trauma. Like for example she'll act passionate and over-the-moon about a project she successfully accomplished right as she planned it. And although it's rather hard to make her cry, there's a moment where she has a bit of a meltdown when she accidentally drops an ice cream cone she was holding. LOL for an adult like her.

And like I said, she's immature for her age because of her messed up childhood. She tries to make herself SEEM mature, especially when she regains a professional attitude when she rebuilds the Haltmann Works Company, but truthfully she acts childish to an extent that's quite pathetic for a grown woman like her.

Her silliness and love for cute things is tied to her lack of emotional maturity, as she didn't get the chance to have her taste in aesthetic develop past a child's. And although she tries make herself seem mature, some people can see through it and detect her immatureness.

Susie eventually starts embracing organic life again after getting her first hug since the Another Dimension accident (by Kirby). The thing is, because she hadn't been cared about and was totally deprived of affection for so long, that's partly what made her callous and cruel enough to go along with the HWC's mechanization project when she returned to her senile father, because she basically lost her sense of humanity by that point. But this slowly comes back when she starts forming bonds after not doing so for a very long time. This is what makes her eventually realize how bad it was to be mechanizing people.

But even as this development unfolds, she still remains a generally self-centered person (although this doesn't mean she's entirely uncaring of others, she does care about her friends) and still isn't immune to being cold in tense situations. In fact, there's a "cute but scarily violent" nature in Susie, and this will be especially established during the Star Allies adventure when she gets a little too much into enjoying beating up enemies while acting cute and silly about it.

And even though she attempts to atone for her sins by bringing back the HWC with reformed goals, there's still absolutely a freaky mad scientist trait in her, only just somewhat toned down from before. She no longer mechanizes planets and people, but she's still not above cloning things, and she does experimentation with toys and other inanimate objects that often gets to be Five Nights at Freddy's levels of freaky and unnerving. Enough to make a good chunk of the Kirby cast freak out when they see it.

She also sells technology to other planets as the way for them to get HWC stuff if they want it. Yes, I literally did say sell. The capitalism still runs strong in her. Although she makes an exception with Planet Popstar because she knows they don't run on currency, and she's developed a soft spot for them compared to other planets because they were forgiving and merciful enough to let her live alongside them while she was stranded there until she moves out to bring back the HWC.

I'd say that sums it up for my Susie in essence. She's a part of the "redeemed villains" club, although I wouldn't say that she's a good person now, still having too many flaws to truly count as that. Morally grey is more like it. Oh, and if you were curious, the "Sparkling Pupupu" manga's depiction of Susie is used as a loose inspiration for how cute and silly my Susie is. In my opinion, silly Susie is underdone.

King Dedede: Ah! What are you... no, no!

Magolor: This is gonna be fun! We can stay up late, swapping manly stories, and in the morning, I'm making waffles!

King Dedede: *gets frustrated*

Magolor: Where do, uh, I sleep?

King Dedede: OUTSIDE!!!!

It's been a long while since I last did a Kirby fic. I recently decided that I want to write one again, and now there's a plan for what it'll be about.

And it will be much longer than any other fic I've ever done before this.

Basically, it will be a story that I'll create about what Susie does after the events of Planet Robobot.
