Taurus is rarely labeled “secretive,” and it is accurate to say that because they are not prone to over-personalize, they are less likely to hide their experiences from others. With Taurus in general there is not so much of an instinct to “hide” as much as it is an instinct to establish purposeful self-protective boundaries. Taurus prioritizes security, and privacy is an aspect of this. They seek a calm, self-contained, “unperturbed” emotional atmosphere in order to process their experiences; feeling invaded or observed can make it difficult for them to relax.

Scorpio is more commonly associated with this trait. Their secrecy comes from a need for control, self-ownership, and power over their experiences; they want to determine the nature and results of their vulnerability, so they are prone to resist vulnerability as an exercise of their agency over it. They take a less pragmatic and often less deliberate approach to the structure of their privacy than Taurus does, because it’s usually based on instincts and intuition alone, without Taurus’ sense of discipline about why certain parts of themselves need to be preserved in solitude. Scorpio has evasiveness and fluidity where Taurus has rigidity. Scorpio has less consistency in what is kept private, but also more adaptability to the condition of vulnerability, while Taurus will generally have hard limits for what remains secret but they may have less “secrets” overall.
