Say..I am having a lot of fun reading the recent comic of Smokescreen and the two rookies, though I am wondering..What is Smokescreen and Fix-it's dyamnic is like?

I think smokescreen respects fixits/understands how he works. Being with the guard and bro being a social butterfly, he probably got to know lots of tech/front desk/etc people, in the hall of records especially since they probably work with lots of information stuff there. That and well… ratchet and team prime base stuff was pretty similar to fixits role.

That being said, off the bat I’d say working with fixit was an easy adjustment, like knowing what kinds of questions and problems fixit is capable of answering and stuff. And i think fixit would appreciate that. So for the data information he doesn’t know he’s able to bounce off of fixit without much traffic to come up with a plan/schedule/stuff like that.

Basically fixits like smokescreens assistant, maybe “second in command esc” sort of thing. They bounce off of each to make a concrete plan (the others join in such plan making as well, but not as majorly)

That aspect however I’d say is pretty similar to the show, i think that probably why i haven’t much with those 2 yet since there aren’t that many changes i can think of so far.

However, personality-wise, i think i wanna make Smokescreen push Fixit out of his comfort zone a little more, get out of his little ship cubby hole a bit. (Maybe a lil trigger happy sometimes, show a bit of that original coding—)

Cause (first off, fixit has a similar kind of role ratchet did in tfp, except ratchet main focus was medic and fixit main role was the other stuff) ratchet in tfp, while stuck in the base most adventures, was still capable of leaving and doing lots of stuff that made him a lil different when he left the box, and i want to believe fixit would be the same. Being cooped up all the time must make leaving the nest a lot more exciting then it is to the other team members, if that makes sense.

POINT IS

I think they have a solid trust/respect bond, and smokescreen might always be trying to push him further as a mech, and fixit would always be comfortable enough to critic smokescreen as well. Handshake between the two i guess.

And actually, i feel like sideswipe is one of the characters with the most potential when it comes to the character growth/arcs/fixes

Cause i think the thing that settles it for me is if you can envision where that character will be next, by themselves as an individual.

And frankly the show might’ve leaned a bit too much into ‘they’re a team!’ Sort of thing, instead of ‘they’re a bunch of individuals working together’, if that makes sense

Sideswipe, i can easily think of where he started (pretty lonesome and avoidant and reckless), to where he ended up (connected and eager to work and stronger intrapersonally). So since his main issue was how lonely he was thats probably why he’s got the “best growth/etc”, since technically it mainly involves working with ‘the team.tm’.

The other, frankly, are juuuuust a little too boring. Grimlock i feel like might be the worst (sorry my boy), but thats just cause they might’ve focused a bit too much on his destructiveness. So he started off destroying stuff and by the end he was helping stuff, cool but what kind of mech is going to be beyond that/ after the show… i dunno.

Strongarm had a little more, i liked where they were headed, but they kinda stopped. Cause IM SORRY JUST A COP AS HER FUTURE IS BORING TO ME IM SORRY.

Fixit i dont even remember he had a malfunction he doesnt remember and it aint that memorable to me. Drift also has a little for him but it mainly involves his minicons.

Like i know your meant to see ‘where they’ll end up’ as working on earth as a team, but surely that not all they’ll ever be right? They need a role, a goal, a lil something something something more, which helps the team dynamic stay interesting and fun and stuff

And IM RANTING BUT POINT IS, sideswipes annoying, but he doesn’t feel completely like a cringe headslam on the table kill me now kinda annoying, more like a you’re a lil cringe kinda annoying. A lil like how they made smokescreen be in tfp, except without the connection skills. but he fixes that a little by the end of the show so instead of being a lil cringe annoying he’s made it to ‘your trying annoying’ lmao

And the dialogue! That is one of the hardest parts about writing, in my opinion. But you make it flow so well, even with Steeljaw’s lengthy monologue like what many villains tend to do. Idk much about your au, so when I found the comic I was very dropped in media res, but something definitely seems very personal between Steeljaw and Smokescreen with how Steel spoke.

Awww yayy!!!!! Im never certain if the expressions land correctly im happy to hear they turned out well!! (Escpecially during moments where there aint much action going on such as deranged mech monologues haha)

YAYYY!!!! You can probably tell im a beginner writer but that just means i appreciate the notice more! It’s so hard, especially when changing between characters who all think and speak way differently from each other, too much thinking to do for my wee little noggin haha.
