This episode makes me mad because after Steeljaw drags her away he just kinda… leaves her? Like, he could totally just slit her throat and cause a lot of damage to the bee team but apparently it’s easier for him to just leave I guess…

Ooh okay questions uhm…. 🤔

1A. I don’t ship characters very often as weird as it sounds lol. I do like strongswipe but I’m kinda slow with it (I see them more so as romantic platonic or smth) and I understand it makes some people uncomfortable. I personally think the show really infantilizes their relationship and I feel they could also be just like arcee and cliff!!! Just Maybe if the two grew together better idk… 😔😔😔

1B. Like I said, I don’t ship very often… I’ve seen people ship bee, grimlock, steeljaw, etc and I’ve seen ships between like sideswipe and Blurr a lot too! I don’t dislike any of these ships at all, I just don’t personally draw/think of them as much as others do. The people who do like them are very passionate about it which I think is really cool because I can relate to that with my own experiences with liking sideswipe and strongarm 😌

I’ve also seen windswipe/strongblade or jazzswipe… honestly I have no comment on those considering the heavily implied age gaps…

2. I don’t actually know!

I think it’s because I really understand him as a character, y’know? he’s this really rash dude who doesn’t really… know any other way to act? Mainly because of his upbringing which was really nonexistent and now how he kinda just has to cope with it. Also his abandonment stuff- I really resonate with that 😭 it makes me feel for him in a lot of episodes.

I also really really understand him when he acts out, mainly because of his implied avoidant attachment, and then he gets embarrassed because of it and tries to play it cool like hey buddy I can see right through your little ruse and it’s genuinely so real….

I also like his hair 😛

3. Ooh I think the team is really appreciative of sideswipe! He’s really nimble and a very capable character who just needs a bit of help. As obnoxious as he can be, I feel nobody can really think of the team in any other way. (Yes, even you strongarm…)

Sideswipe, at first at least, probably sees the team as a nuisance (I mean he tries to run away in the pilot cough) but then sticks around. Then, getting closer to the team, his issues begin to flair up, as this setting is implied to be similar to the setting in his past (where he was abandoned). This leads him to kind of spiral a lot with his actions and making mistakes and stuff. I feel he thinks really poorly of himself regarding others and his actions and how he thinks others feel of him/wether they want to keep him around or not (me realizing how much I’m projecting onto him… coughs ok anyway). This leads him to overcompensate, frustrating people even more and making himself feel worse. He eventually gets over a lot of this, but I feel it’s always at the back of his mind. These behaviors get much worse in episodes like exiles or the great divide (my 2 most favorite sideswipe episodes…. My idiot son). But he grows!

Although I do wish we got more behavior growth, info, and episodes for him… sighs

(Psst also it’s literally said in show by sideswipe that he has some fear of strongarm when she gets frustrated with him… this could maybe imply an internalized fear of scolding and being yelled at, both of which has possibly put him in a prior position where he has been abandoned and now could be abandoned again by the team…? Also possibly because he… doesn’t hate her? And wants her to not hate him too….? Coincidence..? I think NOT 😡)

I think like Unknown (Till the end…) and a variety of MCR and ALNST songs rep him really well,

I actively headcannon he really likes mcr and one day slips up and tells everyone and they’re all just like “my chemical romance….?” And then Russell is like “LOL isn’t that band for EMOS…???” And then he just stops and doesn’t listen to any of it ever again (Atleast not around ppl) like he’s mortified (Russell gen feels bad about it😭)

For more like angst stuff I can imagine something like “I can’t handle change” which is representative of … his inability to handle change (mainly environmental and emotional cough) I really think mcr’s song dead reps him really well emotionally and how he feels about himself and how he thinks others feel about him idk 😔

I also really like how the crane wives’ music represents relationships and personalities and I really see that with them all

IC he also really likes any synth music like probably crystal castles he probably digs that and ignores his responsibilities just to listen to stuff like it CRINE 😭

Honestly I can see her listening to the crane wives or Paramore or something as well as different documentaries or podcasts (probably true crime)

Kinda same for her where the crane wives really reps all of them well in my opinion
