A ton of people new to miscecanis / misceanimalis get kinda worried about how to choose your scent, so hopefully this could help. Here are some things to think about:
What kinds of scents do you like?
Honestly, this is the biggest one in my opinion. Chances are you already know which scents you enjoy, so you could make a list of those scents, and think about the ones that resonate with you. Do any of them seem to represent you, or how you see your dynamic?
Do you already have a scent associated with you?
Maybe you have a perfume that you wear every day, or a lotion that you keep around because whenever you put it on people notice and that makes you smile. In a way, that already could be your scent! I chose my scent based on what I already wore daily. Since it was something I was so attached to, I couldnβt imagine making my scent anything else.
There is nothing wrong with getting really creative with your scent. Some of the coolest scents Iβve seen are mixes of a bunch of things based on an abstract concept. For example, if your scent was something like fall, then maybe you would smell more like mud for some emotions, spiced apples for others, leaves for another...
Your scent could be one specific thing, an abstract thing with a lot of aspects, or a lot of very specific things! (and if you wonder if you could ever actually smell like those things, check out Demeter Fragrance Library, itβs WILD)
How do you see your dynamic?
Stereotypically, omega scents are sweet/floral, beta scents are really anything tbh but often herbal or naturey, and alpha scents are stronger and more earthy. BUT! Those are stereotypes, and what makes misceanimalis so cool is that you are absolutely free to break them. My scent is a pretty stereotypical omega scent (vanilla, jasmine, ylang-ylang), but my alphaβs scent is roses. She sees herself as a very soft alpha, and having a floral scent as an alpha reflects that for her.
Whatever you choose is super cool, and if you change your mind down the road, thatβs ok too :) just have fun with it!
