Hi! I’m getting to this ask a few months late so let me know if you’ve learned more about your friend since then!
So in really short, miscecanis is a lifestyle that imitates a/b/o in one’s personal life in the real world. Most of us got here by reading about a/b/o and finding that it resonates with us in some way. Perhaps the central tropes in a/b/o worldbuilding resembles themes we have seen in our own lives (like gender-based discrimination, feeling out of control in one’s body, etc etc). Perhaps a reader has a complicated relationship with gender and body and sees something they can identify with in the a/b/o dynamics. For whatever reason, a lot of readers find it so interesting that you have to learn more— and on tumblr, they might find the miscecanis community!
I hope that starts to answer your question. There’s so much more to miscecanis than that, so if you’re still curious, stick around and ask your friend! I only learned about this because my friend told me lol
Bit of a life update: I just graduated from college!! It was a term late so I’m done as of like, last week, but I kinda disappeared here because finishing school was taking up all my motivation. After the holidays things should settle out a bit for me so I hope that I can collect enough motivation to get back to posting here.

Miscecanis (misspelled it lmao) is an community focused around living as though you're part of the omegaverse! Using soaps, perfumes, and essential oils for scents, collecting blankets for nesting (and building nests!), calling your partners mates and your family/friends your pack, getting marked by/marking your partners (some people even get tattoos), etc. I'm personally an omega!

how the heck do i scent stuff. i tend to wear perfume when i go out of the house (skylar vanilla sky) but it’s a rollerball. i do tend to rub my face on soft things in my room but i mean like scenting to make nice smells stay. i also occasionally steal best friend’s clothes to put in my nest because they smell like her but i have no idea how she did that. how do i make my nest smell nice ;-;
try linen sprays! My alpha scents our nest with that and it’s really nice and meant for fabric
i just found out about these and i’m obsessed. where do you find them? like what kind of store? i’m hesitant to buy from online because i can’t smell the computer. do you have any favorite brands or specific kinds?
yeah I get what you mean about buying online :/ also linen sprays stick to the fabric as long as you aim them at it! I’m not sure where she gets hers, but I’ve seen them at World Market, Target, and Walmart. Bath and Body Works has room sprays and I’m not totally sure what the difference is tbh. Oh and now that I think of it I don’t know the difference between that and perfume, so if you can’t find any of those other things maybe try spray perfume!

My scent is Floral \ Earthy \ Sweet \ Maple Syrupy

I love scent finding asks but this one has me stumped tbh. I don’t have any specific ideas for this one, but it really sounds like a fantastic and unique scent.
One thing I can think of is that with fall starting, maple syrupy scents are going to be in season so start sniffing everything you find and see if you can pick up some lotion or perfume or whatever you like. Good luck!!
Hear me out. Find fenugreek pills at a whole foods store or online and take 2-4 daily. I take them for another reason but they literally make your sweat smell like an earthier/less sweet maple syrup. I'm dead serious it's crazy. Then you'll just have that scent intrinsic to you and not need any perfumes/fragrances

context: I saw your post about possible reasons why there’s a lot of omegas in the community!
I personally am a trans man, who doesn’t necessarily feel bottom dysphoria. (I don’t have any desire for bottom surgery and am perfectly fine with that)
So in my personal experience, a/b/o and misc has given me an opportunity to feel ‘normal’ I guess. In the way that there are cis men in a/b/o that have the same anatomy as me. I guess for me personally it just validated how I feel about my body and made me feel more comfortable and confident that there’s nothing wrong with being a boy with female bottom anatomy.
So I think similar to what you were saying about a lot of people being raised as women, really speaks to this experience. I thought I might share. :3

I don’t have any specific product recommendations and I don’t know what’s affordable to you, but have you considered mixing lotions? I was thinking that in particular, Bath and Body Works tends to have some woodsy scents, so perhaps you could find one of this you like and mix with a more inexpensive honey lotion. I think you could find a honey scented lotion at your everyday grocery store so it might be cheaper. Once you mix those lotions, hopefully it would last you for a while too!
I personally use Fragrantica to find scents! They have a great search by notes feature! My scent is Peach, Raspberry and smoke (specifically like campfire smoke) and I was able to find two different perfumes with all of those! It just sucks that I need to actually smell a perfume before I buy it due to sensory issues because that means I can't order my preferred scent online (the one I consider "my scent" has been discontinued and I'd need to get a smell alike
Ooo fragrantica sounds cool! I wonder if you could come up with a way to try those scents. Do they have a return policy? Or maybe do you have a friend who likes perfume? If those don’t work out for you, you might be able to gift them to someone else and pretend they weren’t for your scent in the first place. Anyways good luck getting a smell-alike :)
Yello! Probably tbh? It also doesn’t help that trying to practice miscecanis is a bit hard when you’re not living by yourself which was my case when i was first starting… got me real self conscious and stuff. Its better now (living alone and having worked more on perfectionist/failure fears) and i’m honestly keen to try again and incorporate more miscecanis things in my life beyond psuedo-nests and being real picky on how i smell.
(There was also my whole- i got intimidated by my worldbuilding & headcanons and trying to express it… too big, not enough time😔😔… might come back to share it and my attempts to have a miscecanis lifestyle but can’t really say)
I also had my own opinions on how the dynamics are supposed to work so tryna identify which one i really connected with was a bit rough and honestly put me off more from the community. God bless the rise in tert dynamic labels though!! If memory serves me right, the gamma (alpha but omegan? R smthn) rings bells to me.

Oof yeah it sound like your situation with miscecanis was a bit stressful but I’m glad things have calmed down for you. If you do get back into it, remember that complete world building isn’t required of you whatsoever. Starting with whatever details support your miscecanis identity is all you really got to do, and just have fun with it :) oh and I really agree about tertiary dynamics! I pibe how flexible this community is
