The leather case is in fantastic condition for its age. I'm very excited to finally have one of these. Oh, and the two 620 spools I bought at the same time also arrived. Yay!

I just ordered a new Holga
My ancient (Holga standards) Holga 120SF is dying a slow death and getting more and more difficult to work with. So when I was browsing Adorama a little while ago and saw that they have three of the colored 120N models on deep discount, I jumped and got one. They aren't three of the most attractive colors, but the pastel purple ("Jawz" they call it) is tolerable, and I'll just customize it with paint pens anyway.
I'm definitely keeping the 120SF and I will use it for certain projects. The fact that it will no longer spool correctly means the vignettes and distortion are insane, and it was always crazily prone to light leaks, so it will still have a place in my arsenal.
Speaking of which, though, I can't wait to see how much, if any, the quality control has improved over the years at the Holga factory. On the one hand, I don't want to sacrifice a roll of 120 to see what happens if I don't tape up the new camera so comprehensively as I have to do with the 120SF, but on the other hand, if I don't, I'll never know.
Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Are the new Holgas decently well-made? Do the backs stay on the cameras without having to be taped on, etc.?

Black and White 35mm Incoming
I just finished a 36-exposure roll of Fujifilm Neopan Acros 100, run through the Exa 1c with a combination of the Carl Zeiss Jena 2.8/50 Tessar and the Zenit 2/58 Helios lenses. I'm going to develop it myself.
Potential pitfalls here:
1) I completely and totally fail at properly getting 35mm film onto reels without wrinkling the film or double-spooling it or some other idiotic mistake. Plastic, metal, you name it, I always mess up 35mm. I do have a full practice roll now and I'm going to sit and practice till my fingers bleed, starting when I'm done writing this post.
2) The Exa 1c I got is a light sieve. The last roll I ran through it, we narrowed down the worst of the leaks seeming to come from the top of the camera, so for this roll, I had every conceivable source of leakage top and bottom, front and back, wrapped up in black gaffer tape; but we'll see.
Off towards failure or to interesting results. The photos on the roll were taken over a period of about a month and if everything works out, there may be some good stuff on there.
