Rise of The Triad (2013), Dual Pistols

-I forgot how cool the reloading animations in the Rise of The Triad 2013 remake are. The dual pistols reload is amazing. Throwing the clips up in the air and catching them is pretty awesome. Probably impossible. Couldn’t tell you. I’m not a physicist. I also love the way the slides are pulled back, one hand doing each one in a smooth and quick motion. What a great reloading animation.

Red Orchestra 2, Gewehr 41

-I love a nice, long reload. Sometimes videogames will speed the reloading process up, which is fine. Sometimes it’s more fun and makes the game better if all the reload animations are snappy and quick.

But I love when a game focuses on realism or authenticity. And this fantastic rifle reload in Red Orchestra 2 is a great example of this. Two separate clips are loaded into the rifle and then you still aren’t done. It makes the gun feel like a real and intricate piece of hardware.

M1 Garand, Call of Duty: World at War

-Simple but effective reload. Sadly not having the sound hurts this reload. The ping that the M1 Garand makes when it has run out ammo is such a great noise. Well excpet for the fact that during WW2 Japanesse troops learned that this was the best time to strike, after the ping they would charge. So some US troops would use an empty clip and simulate the ping, tricking them into charging.

Also, fun fact World at War was the last Call of Duty to be released on PS2. Weird.
