Kico, my beloved <3 This is hands down my favorite ship in the entire franchise...although Rico/Julien is a dangerously close second.

What made you ship it?

The show is what sold me on this pairing. I don't think there was more shipping energy between two characters in that series than Rico and Kowalski. Granted it was very one-sided, but Rico was flirting hard.

What are your favorite things about the ship?

My favorite thing about the ship is that it doesn't make sense on a surface level. Rico is a manic wild card and Kowalski is refined genius, it shouldn't work. Yet, the show had all these subtle and not so subtle moments that implied all the characters had depth. Rico actually does have some quiet intellect and Kowalski is an unhinged disaster. Basically, when you boil it down, they match each other's freak.

Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?

Okay, this feels a little loaded because I'm ancient when it comes to the fandom so what I've accepted and see as canon doesn't match some of the newer views.

I don't think that among fellow kico/riwalski shippers any of my opinions would be considered unpopular, but I do know that some people who don't ship kico/riwalski would probably disagree with my view that they are not brothers.

This fanfic takes place long after the events of the episode "Rock-a-Bye Birdie" and focuses on Skipper enlisting the help of Marlene when the rest of the team is accidentally turned into hatchlings.

When Skipper turns down a request for help that would take them to Antarctica, Private decides to take matters into his own hands. He'll be the first to admit that Antarctica sucked but the experience wasn't so bad that he's willing to ignore someone who needs help.
