Understanding is a stepping stone. Once you truly understand someone, you get to accept who they are, what they want and why they act like that. Only few people succeed in this first step towards a healthy relationship. If you fail, things may get unmanageable. You may find yourself wanting to change him/her into somebody else because that's what you wanted. You may forget to appreciate the real person she/he is and in the worst case, you might lose him/her all because of you failing to understand him/her. The thing is we are all unique, and that is where understanding plays a vital role in making a better person, a better relationship, and a better world.

There’s these two persons applying for a job. One has the beauty and the other has the ability. They both took the interview but how they get to have the job is different. When you’re that person having such pleasing-to-the-eyes beauty, it’s an advantage. You get to have a lot of opportunities and of course get to have it the easier way - you get the job and work but in order to stay you gotta prove what it’s worth. On the other hand, when you’re not that physically gifted but with skills, you get to do it the hard way - you have to work hard to prove that you deserve to have the job. Nevertheless, it all boils down to proving one’s self and that’s where character comes in.
