Organizing a Grimoire
š¹~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~š¹
šThis isnāt needed, if you prefer the write as you go method thatās fine.
šFor those of us who prefer to have it organized a table of contents is a must.
šTry and plan what your going to write down when. If it helps write down in a notebook or in your book of shadows every idea you can think of putting in your grimoire and number them.
šItās ok if itās not āperfectā chances are this is your first grimoire so not only is ok its natural to make a few mistakes here and there
šWrite in pencil if you donāt like crossing out mistakes or using tipex
šThe key thing to remember is that it doesnāt need to look āTumblr perfectā as long as you understand it
I do not know if I reblogged it but gonna do it (again? ⦠damn memory).

The Ultimate Guide to Potion Bases
We all spend so much time thinking about the correspondences of the actual ingredients that go into our potions that we often forget to think about what the potion base represents! (At least I do.) It would be nice to have a list of all the various liquids that can be used in place of water. Naturally, I canāt think of everything but I think this is a pretty good starting point! What else can be used? Eventually, at some point down the road, I will compile all these thoughts into a book on potion making and want to include this! Keep in mind that these are my own correspondences. Let me know if you disagree or if youād change anything up! Letās see how big we can make this list. Also, I should probably note that not all of these liquids can be ingested. (Obviously.)
The List
Vinegar: Used for cleansing and purification potions.Ā Lemon Juice: Used in hexing, cursing, or revenge potions.Ā Cranberry Juice: Used in love potions. Apple Juice: Used in healing, knowledge, and youth potions.Ā Ammonia: Used in banishing, cursing, purification, and protectionĀ Red Wine: Love potions and potions dealing with death and the afterlife.Ā White Wine: Used in platonic love potions as well as success brews.Ā Rum: Used in potions involving spirit work.Ā Whisky: Another good base for potion work.Ā Vodka: A good base for work involving rapid banishing.Ā Laundry detergent: Good for cleansing potions.Ā Oils: Used to speed up a process.Ā Molasses: Used in potions intended to slow a situation down.Ā Rubbing Alcohol: Another good base for cleansing and purification. Hydrogen Peroxide: Used in healing potions.Ā Milk: Used in potions to promote sleep and peace.Ā Sour Milk: Used to cause nightmares or in potions designed to torment. Orange Juice: For potions of solar importance, healing, success.Ā Soda Water: Used in potions designed to encourage laughter and giddiness.Ā Ginger Ale: Used in health or healing potions.Ā Olive Juice: Used in peace potions.Ā Honey: Used in potions to sweeten up anotherās disposition. Syrup: Used in abundance and prosperity potions.Ā Beer: Used in potions intended to induce slumber.Ā Clam Juice: Used in aphrodisiacs.Ā Cough Syrup: Used in healing potions and to make someoneĀ ācough it up.ā Soy Sauce: Used in protection potions. (Thanks Lexa Rosean for this one!) Pineapple Juice: Used in abundance potions and fidelity potions.Ā Coconut Milk: Used in spiritual and magical cleansing potions.Ā Ice: Solid first, then melted for transformation potions. Coffee: Really, a potion in and of itself in my book. Vanilla Extract: In small amounts, used in passion potions. Witch Hazel: Used in communication and cleansing potions.
What else can you all think of?
If you take an altoids tin and glue tacks to the inside, you can make an Iron Maiden to stick poppets of your enemies in lol
Let's say you're target also has a willing accomplice to their bullshit. If you make a doll for each of them, you can put them in the same box, but back to back, so that they feel crowded and pressed against the sharp points, and fight each other for even a breaths more space, unintentionally driving the other (and themselves) further onto the spikes. Since they're backs are to each other they won't be able to see that it's themselves that are pushing each other further into the curse lol. Just take them out and cleanse them to stop everything š¤·š¾āāļø
.......... are you fUCKIGNG KIDDING ME THIS IS MY FAVORITE THING EVER
BUT WAIT. THERE'S MORE
You can actually achieve the above sense of claustrophobic squirming by simply filling it with dirt! Just layer it up over the doll as much as the tin will tolerate while still closing!
Or, add googly eyes! So they forever feel watched lol
Please stop giving me ideas.

Someone twisted this Jewish familyās menorah into the shape of a swastika
Naomi Ellis and her her husband Seth spent Friday morning ā the morning after the sixth night of Hanukkah ā trying to explain to their three young sons why someone had vandalized the menorah the family had put out on their yard by twisting the metal pieces into the shape of a swastika.
The Ellis family had only built the 7-foot-tall menorah on the front lawn of their home in Chandler, Arizona, because their sons, ages 5, 7 and 9, had asked their parents if the family could decorate their home like the neighbors did for Christmas, the Washington Post reported. Read more.
The Ellis family had only built the 7-foot-tall menorah⦠because their sons, ages 5, 7 and 9, had asked their parents if the family could decorate their home like the neighbors did for Christmas. This is America in the 21st century. Ā Please reblog, even if youāre not Jewish. Ā EspeciallyĀ if youāre not Jewish. Ā Spread awareness and let your Jewish followers know that weāre not alone.
THIS IS THE BEST COMMERCIAL EVER
Iāve reblogged this so many times because I truly think every parent should involve themselves with what their child enjoys.Ā
Not to mention this is an act of solidarity. Heās saying āeven if the entire world is against you, Iām on your side.ā Which I think is important for a kid to know. Heās refusing to be a bully to his child, even if he doesnāt understand.
I work at Hot Topic and we had a white suburban dad in who was buying matching heavy metal/screamo band shirts for him and his teenage daughter and said āTo be honest, I think this stuff sounds like garbage, but she likes it so we listen to it together and weāre going to the concert for Christmas.ā And it was just really heartwarming to see him so involved in his childās life and validating her interests.
I WILL NEVER NOT REBLOG THIS.
āI donāt get it, but I love how you love itā is one of the best things anyone can say. My entire family asks questions about comics because they want to share my enthusiasm for them and support me, even though they otherwise wouldnāt pay attention to the industry at all.
I cried when I first saw this
This is amazing and really important
I went though a goth faze in my teens (like most) and I wanted more than anything to paint my room black. My mom was supportive of my personal expression in terms of my clothes and hair and accessories but she was genuinely concerned about the toll a black room would take on my mental health (I was already prone to recurring depression at that point and still am). I begged for months to repaint my room, but she wouldnāt budge.
One weekend i spent with my dad and when I came back she had repainted my room. A beautiful deep blue on three walls (my favourite colour), lovely sky blue on the ceiling, and one wall was black. The black wall had been sanded smooth and painted with several coats of chalkboard paint. She gave me a couple boxes of chalk and told me to have at it. I LOVED that black wall and wrote on it every day. I drew on it, I doodled, I wrote out my favourite emo song lyrics, wrote reminders for myself, anything I wanted. It was my favourite part of my room and was something that it would have never occurred to me to ask for. It was something only my very creative and clever mom could have come up with and Iām still grateful to her for it.
In retrospect, a room of black walls would indeed have been encouraging a reacurrence of my depression and my moms answer was the perfect compromise. That black wall ended up being the most colourful part of my room.
Wow this is really beautiful. You have a great mom
Iāll cry right now.
My dad was really supportive when I had my emo/goth faze. Iām still kinda goth.
My mom later joined in.
I wish my parents were like this.
