Happy April 25th from Miss Rhode Island.

April is autism awareness month, and for those of you who don't know what autism is a pretty basic definition would be a developmental disorder that affects the brain which makes it harder to communicate and socialize. But it's so much more than that. I'd like to make a shout out to the best baby sister anyone could ask for. She's had to work so hard just to learn how to walk and talk. But now she has no problem singing and dancing all throughout the house, and if you've experienced that you know it's adorable! If you've ever had the pleasure to meet this fine young gal there's no doubt she's made you smile and laugh a million times. Like I said earlier, autism makes it hard to communicate so she doesn't have many friends and that can't be easy, going to school and realizing your not like everyone else? But that doesn't seem to affect this amazing girl! She's honestly one of the happiest and nicest kids I've ever known, there's not a mean bone in her body. Autism makes it harder to learn basic skills, like walking or talking, but she has no problem learning how to love and care, this little girl right here has a bigger heart than most grown adults in this world and I'm so proud to be her sister. She may be only eight years old but I look up to her. I aspire to be as caring and genuine as her one day. Your a rock star Macena! Stay awesome sweetie!
