Running began in June with a beginner course designed to steadily lay a good foundation and build on that strength.
The intensity was too high and it took some considerable effort to figure that out. I had no idea that was the thing I was getting wrong, though my iFit trainer, Tommy, kept saying to dial it down if it was too hard.
Having the Fitbit was useful for monitoring heart rate and determining max/min statistics as well as the fact that the device v the treadmill weren’t providing the same data.
It was easy to be ‘oh, I can do this’ and then try to find complicated reasons why I couldn’t actually do this…until I realized the intensity was too high. I was running too fast.
Slowing it down made it easier to go further for longer.
It seems so simple to say that now. *eyerolling*
