Krungle

How does one forget to say their name when talking to someone so good-looking? Well duh, his consciousness clearly determined to deteriorate like a computer when overheating. It’s a disgustingly convenient thing he ordered alcohol huh? It was like the particles circling and existing in everything around him just acknowledged he was doomed to fail at this endeavor at flirting and this was its way of consoling him for absolute and utter rejection.
He took a gulp of his drink that sounded distressingly loud before settling to at least attempt and introduce himself correctly. “Karkat Vantas. Graduated a fuckton long time ago and now a depressed douche-cunt who sits in bars and neglects to present himself to people he converses with like a subject with Alzheimer’s.”
He took one extra sip of his drink before shifting to glance at the female once more. “Second semester huh? Majoring in anything or undecided?”
The sudden bout of what seemed like self-degradation made Ito blink. She hadn’t noticed him miss any social cues since she’d only just asked him for his name but this wasn’t her area of expertise.
“Um.” Ito was tempted to call him douche-cunt, just to see his reaction, but she knew that was a terrible thing to say to someone and would not win her any points in the social apartment so she tried to direct to conversation toward herself.
“My current aim is Musical Theory and Composition, but I’m told music has a high burnout rate... so I might end up dropping one, or going for a more general musical degree.”
Too detailed? Too much information? At this point all she could really do was continue with what he’d given her, right? “What... what did you end up graduating in? Does that mean you’re much older than you look?”
