my sister laughs at how much i let swearing in songwriting bother me. one time, after hearing a line of a song where the guy swore, i paused it and thought of what that line would mean without that swear, it lost no meaning at all, so, why swear?

A songwriting tip once said, “do something different in your songs, than what’s in most songs, your lyrics will stand out”. Whenever I tried to listen to any new song, there had to be a swear. I thought for a while of what the song would mean without the swears, nothing different, that’s sad. to feel better, i keep swears out of all my lyrics, now i have to find fans of that, which is hard.

I once read a songwriting tip which said “to make your songs different, or stand out, make that difference”. I was pondering what difference i could make in my lyrics. when i tried to listen to any new song, i always heard a swear and paused it. I thought of what those swears actually meant, nothing. I heard songs with no swears by some bands/artists like @thesoundofreason-blog @outlandishh and @samiyusufofficial, i wanted to write songs like that, so, i started.

I thought I wrote songs, but, now I realised something; every song that you hear has to have at least one swear, since I don’t use swears, I write poems

one time, i read a songwriting tip that said, “do something differently, than what people expect”. from listening to songs, i realised that there have to be swears in every song, i thought “what does that actually mean?” nothing. that’s sad, they don’t lose any meaning without them. since i couldn’t find songs without swears, i decided to write them muself. my sister says “you can find the clean version too”. if the songs didn’t have swears, you wouldn’t even need a version!

In our last house, i used to do the skip it in the garage, a few times a day, for a few minutes each. When we got to the apartment, i never used to work out at all. in this house, i told myself to get a work out, we have like 12 stairs from upstairs to the basement, i walk up and down all of those ten times.

When i was y: ounger, i used to tell everyone everything. no one could trust me at all, one day my brother texted me” don’t tell anyone but i got a car”. later when he came, he thought i told everyone so he said “hafsa probably told you” everyone was quiet, he walked away and drove his car to us. now everyone trust’s me

it’s sad how popular swearing is in songs now days. you can’t expect to hear any new or recent song without swears. my brother didn’t like these, if he even heard a swear, i would get scared, so i made a seperate playlist on my ipod. there have been a few bands with songs without swears, like outlandish and the sound of reason. to feel good, i decided to write songs without swears

A million times i heard a song and wondered, where the writer got that idea from. i wasn’t sure what exactly signified a songwriting idea, but now that i write songs, i can answer this question. A songwriting idea can come from a certain moment, a book, or describing your day. I remember in school, everyone was so mean to me, so i used to hide and cry, when i came home, i was looking around for a way to feel better, then, i saw a notebook. An idea can also come from a certain movie, a book (i remember i once wrote from a book by brian rathborne), even while studdying for a test one day, to make sure i knew my notes, i wrote a song.

when i was on facebook, i had friends and i used to play apps like criminal case. One day, my brother realised that i was having trouble in school, he was thinking of the reason why. He just said “close facebook”, i wasn’t sure how to do that at all, he said “i’ll close mine if you close yours”, i was pondering this, i thought it was fair, so i closed mine, gave the keyboard to him, and he closed his. this actually allowed me to focus on my schoolwork, a few days later there was a post “time wasters” you know what i wrote.

i never realised the importance of swears in songs, i actually thought these made songs good. i used to add swears to my songlyrics to be cool. A band that changed my mind is the sound of reason, now i hear a swear in any song and think of how the song would’ve sounded without it, i think of that and realise that the song wouldn’t lose it’s meaning. this bothered me a lot so i started writing my own songs @thesoundofreason-blog

are there online guitar lessons for beginners?

When i was in grade, 7, i believe, i was listening to the morning announcements at school, when i heard of a guitar club which i thought was really cool. i went to the office to call home, to tell my mom i’d be home late, i called home my mom said “ok”. I heard which room it was in, that room sounded familiar. I went there, with a smile on my face, that smile soon faded, when i saw who the teacher was, i hated that teacher, but i still went to that club. After walking to that room with a smile, the teacher asked “ok, so where’s your guitar?” i got mad and walked home. i went shopping later and got a guitar for that clubi went to that club once, and never again, cause i hated that teacher. now the guitar’s in my room, if any of you know of any online guitar lessons for beginners, please tell me @guitarlessonshq-blog
