Recently the property manager for my apartment complex has decided to go on the warpath against weed and cigarette smoke, regardless of the lease that was signed saying that smoke (cigarette) is legal to smoke inside the building. So I know for a fact that unless he starts sending out new leases for people to sign and agree that won’t hold up in court.

But the funny part is his sudden war on weed. He sent out a memo saying it wasn’t fair to put an individuals bad decision onto others (I do agree about this, if you’re in an apartment complex, don’t smoke so much that all your neighbors apartments smell like it, but that’s just manners). But what’s funny is that he’s saying people will be subject to the full extent of the law- which is, in Massachusetts a $100 fine and the seizing of said weed if under an ounce (I don’t know for more than an ounce off the top of my head). That’s it.

Now he’s sent out another memo saying that he’s contacted the narcotics department who is launching a full investigation, and that neighbors should report activity associated with drug use, namely if there is quick coming and goings during the middle of the night. So he’s sending out memos for people to be snitches.

I’m already laughing, and laughing hard at this. Yes, some people will snitch in a heartbeat, but I won’t and I know there are heavy smokers living below me hahahaha.

But what’s funnier is that I stopped smoking almost a month ago. Like stopped cold turkey (for job related reasons). I’m cleaning my glass fully tomorrow, and I’m just HOPING that someone shows up knocking at my door to investigate. I will literally laugh right in their face an invite them in. I’m also curious about what’s going to happen if the law for full legalization goes through with this election (it probably will if it’s on the ballot). What full extent of the law will he be able to go with then?
