Look, I know like most shows Miraculous has always required some suspension of disbelief—due to the whole, everything—but wow, that sure happened. Holy crap. The complete reversal from never changing the status quo to vaporizing it every week needs to be studied. I don't know by who, but someone.

In a way, the constant will-they-won't-they and the secret identities combo means the show has always been about shock value to some degree. But it's genuinely impressive how far they managed to stray from what so many people loved about it to just... whatever it became. And keeps becoming (which I am purposely trying to avoid learning too much about, because every time I said "alright but it can't get much worse than that" they proved me wrong). The animation, the plot, the characters, the relationships... I'm beating a dead horse here but I've never seen a show/franchise that squandered so much potential. There were so many ways they could've branched out or taken a really cool direction on things but instead they doubled down on "What's the most batshit thing we could do? Now triple it and make sure everyone looks like idiots (except one or two people we barely see, who are virtually unstoppable hyper-geniuses with fuck knows going on)."
