In case any of you are curious
I had finals, a friends wedding, and a bad trip, but I'm back now. I've read Multiversity about three times in various states of consciousness... ALSO! Pax Americana "director's cut" comes out today so hit up your LCS and get it AND a copy of the map of the multiverse. Be back soon with legitimate posts.
DC multiverse, old and new…
Pareidolia has set in pretty hard after that UC issue. The number 52's been popping up everywhere around me, and if that wasn't enough they're now constantly putting references to the number in the DC Comics now. (i.e. TT Vol. 5 Annual 1, latest episode of TTGo! just to name two.) It's starting to feel like a bad mushroom trip, and I'm honestly wondering what Morrison and his Oblivion Machine have in mind for people.
Yeah dude I had to put it down and walk away had to calm myself down after reading it. Had to ignore all the :signs: I was :seeing: And then I pick up Ennis’ Blackcross and while I can’t be certain I think the over all plot is the superhero personas forcing their real world counterparts to “become” them. Which did not work out well for the Flame to say the least. And it really got me thinking What if our fiction suits turn around on us and try to make “reality suits” try and force us to become them. What if they get tired of existing only in our imaginations or at best on a flat 2D world, forget breaking the fourth wall what if they tear it down entirely
I'd like to retract my previous statement about giving up on Ultra by creating your own superhero. (I blame the Gentry. I blame Gentry for global warming too. And Mondays. Especially Mondays.) Because consider this: Every hero needs allies, right? Who else but the Ultra-Mind would be up for the task of creating them for Ultra Comics?
Agreed. Judging by the Michael Allred variant cover for Issue 2 Grant has already joined Ultra and the rest of the Multiversity. So I told you my Alter Ego anon, why don’t you tell me yours? Maybe the rest of you followers would also like to share? Justice League-33 (someone come up with a better name?) assemble join together! and help save the Multiverse!

I can't remember if you mentioned Doc Loss before. Is he your superhero avatar, and if so: Could you tell us more about him? I'd love to hear the background story.
Hey, sorry, the App apparently does not alert me to messages. Doc Loss has been sort of a nickname, for several years (my given name is Losson) it was my gamer tag/twitter and I kind of developed a persona around it. It was meant to be a fictionalized version of myself, an over exaggeration, that can best be described as a mix of Doc Brown and Hunter S. Thompson (or I guess more so Rick from Rick and Morty now). I also practice chaos magic IRL, so when I stared to make him a super hero persona I added that so hes kind of this Absent minded belligerent sorcerer instead of a scientist.
I really visualize him mostly as Hunter, balding, Hawaiian shirts, chain smoking. always with a cigarette in one hand chalk for drawing sigils in the other. More often than not accidentally mixing the two up and becoming agitated when he takes a draw of a piece of chalk. I could really see hims being best friends and worst enemies with John Constantine.
I dropped his name in the weird meta anti-review I did for issue one. Planned to do one for the guidebook but missed it, been missing a lot of stuff I wanted to do on this blog, but that is just my fiance pulling me out of the Oblivion Machine.
The Ultras, Boy Blue, and Red Riding Hood are on Earth-14 think about it...
yes think about it, all day, and all the other little clues, little bread crumbs, spread out through Ultra Comics, dissect every last page, give your life over to the Oblivion Machine
It's like poetry: By having everyone so obsessed with creating their own avatar for the Ultra Comics release (in case of Hypercrisis), they are giving up on Ultra as a hero and saviour even before we have touched a single page. We've thrown him to the lions before we even got to know him.
IKR, Doc Loss was so ready to fight the Gentry, but would he have been willing to sacrifice himself...I should take my paxil. Also I’d wager that any girl out there with a Red Riding Hoodesque avatar is flipping out right now.

Earth-28 The Sword and Sorcery Earth everyone wants.
Opposing Earth-37's dark and amoral future where the superhuman community went unnoticed due to the rapid technological advancements is Earth 28. A world stuck in the past were all advancement has slowed to a crawl if it has not been halted entirely. This however has not stopped Earth-28 from being one of the brightest shining worlds in the Orrery, just like the armor clad knights that make up the Fellowship of Justice, guardians of this more magically inclined world.
This wouldn't be exactly Superman: Kal, or any other preexisting interpenetration of the Justice League as a sword and sorcery, but something completely new. Doing something akin to Earth-18/Justice Riders reinventing DC's medieval characters and merging them with the primary heroes allowing them to be the focus.

So I just made a Straw Poll
http://strawpoll.me/3724033
Keep in mind the end result is a world where, the best I can put it, Team Magma succeeded in awakiening Groudon.
Earth-27
Really shoehorning this one in, because this elseworld series was probably my favorite elseworld setting. In the back of my mind Earth-27 has always been the Superman Metropolis and it's sequels Earth. The designation was never claimed (and still remains unclaimed as one of the seven unknown Earths) and in the original multiverse it was given the designation Earth-1927 the year of the release of Lang's Metropolis. Its the style of the books that I love not so much the story and that is how I came to my completely BS explanation that it is the counter earth to the fusion dancing Earth 32. Earth 32-27 are both worlds where story and logic took a back seat for artistic expression. Earth 27 is dark moody atmospheric Earth 32 is bright absurd dada-esque, neither story makes sense, but both are pretty to look at.
Everyone has been so focused on Hell Fist of Earth 7
You have managed to over look the fact that the Alley Cat pastiche from Earth-35 is named Miss X and the Black Rapier pastiche from Earth 34 is named Ghostman. Wouldn't names like Stray Cat and White Katana (although both pretty terrible) make more sense and go with the over all theme of those worlds? Is Hell Fist Ultimate Iron Fist mixed with Hell Boy? Do I suffer from a sever case of Apophenia? The answers to all or just one of these questions: yes.
Earth 25
(sadly no picture) It has been said that earth sets in a "Goldilocks Zone" Not to hot, not to cold, just right. Long before the event that pushed Earth ever so slightly closer to the sun leaving it a barely habitable desert wasteland Earth-25 was already drastically different among the other worlds of the Orrery. I have two possible scenario in mind for Earth-25 when I first ruled out the weird west setting (because we already have that on earth-18) that is the obvious easy answer for a desert planet what I came up with was the idea of a "land war between waring kingdoms." The end result was A Wuxia Justice League in a world influenced heavily by Chinese culture with a modern retelling of the Romance of the Three Kingdoms (of which my only true knowledge is the Dynasty Warriors franchise) intermixed with the basic plot of Alan Moore's Twilight of the Super Heroes, sounds like a world that belongs in the Skyland quadrant to me. However, as I began to think about it, who said it had to be cowboys? So the other, still less developed story, would re-imagining the Justice League in a Arabic setting with influence from Frank Herbert's Dune series, as well as the Twilight of the Super heroes story still serving as the basic underlying plot.
Either way the end result is a world more influenced by (Chines/Arabic) culture. A "great disaster" happens resulting in earth becoming barely habitable after it is pushed closer to the sun. Three superheroes (Superman, Batman, and Captain Marvel?) establishing kingdoms that eventually go to war with each other. Would flesh these out more if I could decide which one I liked better.
Earth 24: Based on the Dark Knight Returns "Sort of". While the story of Batman retiring after the Death of Robin (Jason Todd) and then his return several years later is a big focal point on this Earth, it is far from all that is unique about Earth 24. On this world Capitalism triumphed over Communism in the Cold War just like on our own, and most, realities but here things took a darker turn and lead to an American Empire controlled by a handful of corporations. Here heroes have become tools of the Government, and Government have become the tools of corporations. While Superman and Wonder Woman work as the muscle of American Empire other heroes have faced different fates, such as the Flash forced to constantly run a giant electrical generator to provide energy. Green Lantern, and the Hawks have simply left either North America, or Earth in response to the American Empire's reactions while Ralph Dinby has attempted to make the best of the situation by marketing Gingold extract as male enhancement drug. There are of course those who still fight the system, Green Arrow, the Question, and one would expect to find the Batman listed here, but wouldn't it be so much more interesting if on this Hell quadrant world at the top of the list of companies awho hold the most influence in the American Empire, just edging out Lex Corp, was Wayne Enterprises.
tldr: Earth 30 V Earth 24 is basically a world where a communist Superman brought the world together, and ultimately relinquished his control resulting in a peaceful world against a would where a capitalistic Batman refuses to let go of the world he now controls leaving it broken apart. Remember this is head canon, sorry Grant that the first thing I did was make a world with an Evil Batman.

Seven Unknown Earths
Over the next few days I will try to put up my Seven Unknown Earths, I am in no way claiming that theses are what they are, or should be, simply my opinion based on the concept of counter Earths and how they are arranged in the Orrery. Keep in mind that
Earth 14 is counter to Earth 29, Bizarro Htrae a twisted backwards nightmarish world.
Earth 24 opposes Earth 30 a world where Kal-L landed in communist Russia and grew up to represent those values.
Earth 25 reflects Earth 31 where natural events has left it a vast ocean plagued and protected by heroes reinterpreted as pirates.
Earth 27 is set against Earth 32 a bright and absurd world where the heroes have some how or another been "mashed-up".
Earth 28 stands against Earth 37 a dark amoral world brought on by the sudden, rapid, advancement of technology
Earth 46 comes up against Earth 11 where the Amazons influenced the culture resulting in a matriarchy culture.
and lastly Earth 49 is the antithesis to Earth 43 Vampirism cursed world.
Admittedly a few of these have me stumped, and I am not quite sure how to put my vision of Earth 14 into words, just yet. So let's just see how this goes.
Darkseid awoken on Earth 51, and jailed the next day on Earth-33. We don't mess around
