My name is Jake Gill. I aspire to be a fashion photographer. I am inspired by many photographers such as Erwin Blumenfeld and Helmut Newton. I am very interested in surrealism and colour. Lately I have been enjoying ripping up my photographs and turning them into a college. For me, this means that I feel my style is undefined. I am always transforming. These collages also make the statement that photography is constantly changing and that we need to redefine issues of society. Especially in fashion photographs; I keep seeing models looking dead and stick thin in images, and I am tired of this same aesthetic. Fashion is a trend of style. I believe we need to rebuild and reboot. As a photographer, I want to bring life into the high fashion world. I think it is important to bring cultures together. I hardly ever see black and asian models. I never see contemporary art from India or Egypt, its always Europe or America. I want to see and work with healthy models from across the world. My idea may seem unrealistic, but I believe this positive mindset as a globe will change the history throughout time in photography.
