My Journey to Escape the War in Gaza
My name is Abdelmajed. I never imagined I’d be sharing my story like this, but life in Gaza has become unbearable. I am a survivor of the war here, and in the blink of an eye, everything I once knew—my home, my safety, my community—was ripped away from me.
The war has transformed Gaza into a graveyard of broken dreams. The buildings that once stood as symbols of life and resilience are now piles of rubble. Every corner is filled with the echoes of explosions. Every moment is shrouded in uncertainty. There is no security. There is no stability. There is no light at the end of the tunnel.
Basic needs have become luxuries. Food is scarce. Clean water is even scarcer. Hospitals are overwhelmed and under-resourced, and there is almost no medical care to be found. Every night, families go to bed hungry, praying they’ll wake up to see another day. The cost of basic necessities has skyrocketed, and it’s become a daily battle just to survive.
I’ve seen things I never thought possible—standing in long lines for a piece of bread, rationing every drop of water, and watching my people suffer in silence. I have lost everything—my home, my safety, my dignity.
Escape from Gaza is my only hope, but it’s almost impossible without financial help. The cost of evacuation is far beyond my means, and without support, I’m trapped in a warzone with no way out.
I’m reaching out to you now, in the hopes that someone, anyone, can help. I am not asking for luxury. I am asking for a chance—just a chance—to live. A chance to escape this never-ending cycle of fear, destruction, and loss. A chance to rebuild my life somewhere safe, where I can begin again, where I can find hope once more.
My name is Abdelmajed, and I am a survivor of the war in Gaza. Everything I once knew has been taken away—my home, my safety, and the people
Any amount you can give will help me get closer to safety. Even the smallest donation will make a difference—it could be the lifeline I need to survive. If you are unable to donate, please share my story. The more people who hear it, the better the chance that I can find the support I desperately need.
Your kindness and support mean the world to me. You’re not just helping me escape a war; you’re giving me a chance to live, to rebuild, to breathe again.
Thank you for listening. Thank you for caring.

Hussam spent the last few days sourcing food for everyone in the camp, and this is what he managed to find! All that’s left for him is to find cheese to add to the food packages, and after that he will be sending them out to everyone.

WTF ARE THE CRIMES OF THESE PALESTINIAN MEN THEY CAPTURED, TORTURED, AND HUMILIATED FROM KHAN YOUNIS? BEING PALESTINIAN? IS THAT THEIR CRIME??
This was on a NATIONAL broadcast. A NATIONAL broadcast... these innocent men were trying to flee to find safety... there are just too many words to describe the inhumanity and morally depravity involved in being able to do something like this -the IOF are the real terrorists.

Hello I am Hassan Adwan. My family consists of ten people, including eight children, … Ibrahim Adwan needs your support for Help Evacuate
Humanitarian Crisis Alert: Civil War in Sudan The ongoing civil war … Husham Hantoush needs your support for Help Sudan Tarada Initiative
The IDF has destroyed dozens of houses and apartment blocks in the name of creating a 'buffer zone' to protect settlements in the Gaza envelope as part of a plan to return displaced settlers.
The Palestinian resistance has spent all of today showing how absurd the idea is
Honestly every single time, the Israeli occupation government announces something (eg, they control the northern part of the Gaza Strip, they have eliminated thousands of Hamas commanders and soldiers, they're building a buffer zone to protect settlements, etc), the resistance acts to undermine them. The media won't mention it but the average Israeli gets the message loud and clear.
RAFAH, Gaza Strip (AP) — More than half a million people in Gaza — a quarter of the population — are starving, according to a report Thursday by the U.N. and other agencies that highlights the humanitarian crisis caused by Israel’s bombardment and siege on the territory in response to Hamas’ Oct. 7 attack. The extent of the population’s hunger eclipsed even the near-famines in Afghanistan and Yemen of recent years, according to figures in the report. The report warned that the risk of famine is “increasing each day,” blaming the hunger on insufficient aid entering Gaza. “It doesn’t get any worse,’’ said Arif Husain, chief economist for the U.N.’s World Food Program. “I have never seen something at the scale that is happening in Gaza. And at this speed.” ... At the start of the war, Israel stopped all deliveries of food, water, medicine and fuel into the territory. After U.S. pressure, it allowed a trickle of aid in through Egypt. But U.N. agencies say only 10% of Gaza’s food needs has been entering for weeks. (Dec. 21, 2023 | Source)
DON'T LOOK AWAY.
Disabled people should be allowed to exist in public. Yes, I mean all disabled people.
That includes people with tic disorders.
That includes people who smell ‘bad’.
That includes people who can’t help being loud.
That includes people who move ‘strangely’.
That includes people with bulky mobility aids.
That includes people who drool.
That includes people who struggle with incontinence.
We all should get to exist, however that looks, and go out in public, use public transport, do activities outside our homes. And we should be allowed to do those things without being glared at or having ableist things said to us.
Please note this will also include disabled people who get highly distracted by sounds, are sensitive to smells and otherwise may not be compatible with the above through no fault of their own.

tw csa / sexual abuse
hi again. spent what donations i could on groceries— thank you so much.
i did reach out to my abusive parents to try and ask for help with rent this month and their response was that i could move back in with them if i ran out of money but that was my only option. i can’t go back— my brothers also live there and they’ve routinely sexually abused me from a young age. i wouldn’t be safe and on top of that i’ve been supporting my disabled wife who’s unable to work lately and cant get on benefits (would require diagnoses and paperwork that we just don’t have the money to pursue). she wouldn’t be invited home and i can’t leave her to fend for herself.
i may have a job coming up soon— im in the hiring process for two companies currently but as i haven’t heard any solid answers from either of them i still don’t have any source of income. hopefully they pull through but i don’t know when i’ll get paid either.
tl;dr im scared and out of money and i need help with rent. please help.

I study sustainability and part of my degree involves studying green architecture. I am also a wheelchair user. Walkable cities are ableist.
When people hear "walkable cities are ableist" and immediately retaliate they are usually thinking of a theoretical ideal for cities that isn't currently being put into practice. The problem is, there are new, walkable cities being built across the globe and they are not taking disabled people into consideration. These cities are not theoretical.
These communities are usually being built on privately owned land which can give them exemptions from having things as basic as paved sidewalks and roads. Most of these cities had gravel or dirt pathways, and all of them had large curbs or steps leading to the entrances of buildings. Even when sidewalks were present, the buildings were all multistory, which is necessary for a space to be walkable, however, none of the buildings had elevators. There was not a single community shown that I could actually live in.
The able-bodied people in my classes were consistently appalled by the lack of accessibility because I kept pointing it out. None of them had considered accessibility before I was in the class, and several were majoring in architecture.
If walkable cities were built with disabled people in mind then yes, they'd be hugely beneficial to disabled people, but walkable cities aren't just dreams for the future they are being built right now, and they are being built to keep us out. Walkable cities are ableist.
